it is agonizing to want something so much but that is in your heart but your patience will be rewarded in 4.5 hours, trust me ... the gun is ready to fire and we better hope that Apple is in control of the trigger ... Bang!

anyone else have apple try to access their account information and then get a error message stating that it can not process the request and then gives the option of picking up the phone at the apple store? The only problem is it asks for the $699 price.

@mnrvokk, even google, the most visited site on the interwebs, would crash if it were trying to run this many secure transactions at once. cut em a little slack, would ya? :)

Hey,
I am venting too; been up on a work day trying to reserve my phone and get it shipped...... but no!!

What irked me is the tendency of blaming everything on ATT. I am no fan of the wireless company but it comes back to Apple to ensure that they are able to support the customers thru the full process.

Secondly, no white iPhone on pre-order! Did Apple bother to mention it?

I am loyal Apple customer but I dont blindly support everything this company does.

try to smoke it slowly as the reality is they released the official start time as 9am New York Time = 6am San Francisco time ... the sheep are biting my ass now.

It's not showing any of my family plan stuff. It's making me sign up the phones as individual plans. Do you think I could then take it to ATT and have them get everything back in order for me after the fact? Two separate iPhone plans for me and the wife would be really pricey. I was hoping to keep our family plan and just add the data for her.

From the ordering FAQ:
Can I buy an iPhone without an AT&T contract?

No. iPhone requires a two-year AT&T wireless service contract.

This is just untrue. I bought my 3gs at a retail Apple Store with no contract (albeit with no discount either). Have they changed their policy? It looks like you can only get the iPhone 4 on launch day (or perhaps at all) by signing up with another 2-year contract. I do NOT want to be tied to them again. :(

yeah...glad i didn't want white  but yeah, i shoulda gone to bed hours ago, i have work in like 4 hours... :(

I've had to restart the entire process from scratch at least 10x now. Good thingI have 2 more hours to devote to this before getting ready for work!

just ordered 2 32gbs from att website. Existing family plan, i just added 2 more lines to it. If you have an account with att, log in to OLAM and order it from there. it worked both times for me without an issue. Tried from apple.com but that shi* website is going crazy....

+1

2 x 32gb, upgrades to 2 lines on family plan. separate delivery address is possible, no new credit check (as of now at least - says could be subjected to it when order ships, but that sounds like standard ATT premier store disclaimer).

free fedex overnight priority shipping. says orders will be processed on first-come, first-served basis with email notification of shipment.

Are you sure? All I see is the iPhone 3GS in there at 32 GB. I don't see anything for the iPhone 4.
