I tried completing my preorder on 3 different devices: mac, ipad pro, iphone.

Worked well on my iPhone, order is in for a Sep 16 pickup at my local apple store.

On Mac, I could start the process but it froze after a few steps.

On ipad, the app was stuck on the "just a few more minutes" screen until about 15 minutes after pre-order time.

The lesson is: if you're having trouble placing your order, try a different device.
Only ever works on my phone, and I need to periodiclly force kill it until it loads properly
 
Very annoying. I was pre-approved with Barclays financing (UK) but could not complete the final step (tried so many times) so had to do a new order and pay in full to secure day one delivery!
 
Secured a 256GB Pro Max in Deep Purple for 9/16! Had the same issues As everyone on here. Was originally just using the phone APP but when it wasn’t letting me in I opened up the APP on the iPad and keep force quitting both of them to see if that helped. Started to worry that might boot me back in line so around 8:06 ET I just left both open and then a minute later I was let into the store on my iPad to complete the preorder.

Curious to see if anyone has heard what the “correct” method is for pre-ordering on the app? Is it better to have it opened and held on the waiting screen or to constantly reload the app. If anyone has tried to buy sneakers when Nike/Adidas does their drops they tell you not to close the app or you risk losing your place in line but Apple has no such warning, that I’ve seen at least!

I could see if it was the first second or third time, but it's been a decade and a half. It should be smooth as silk by now.

I always force kill and reload every 15s or so until it loads properly

One year it wasn't working right with VZW financing. Went to VZW and it was fine. They to avoid that though because they always seem to screw up the trade at first

I’m in exactly the same boat. No idea how to fix. I was in the app completing my preorder after about 2 mins but can’t get past this error.

Managed to make some progress on the website… it was previously just vanishing when I clicked to finish the pre-order, now it lets me get to the end but won’t let me submit the order. Nothing happens when I press the button WTF IS HAPPENING?!

Same with me. It’s the same issue with O2
 
Anybody have their order disappear from their history on the app and online store?
Even though I purchased it through the Apple store iPhone app with my Apple ID logged in, mine came through as a "Guest Order" so it does not show up under my Apple ID orders online. If you click the order number in the email it will probably say Guest order on the tab in your browser. Apple also chose my old address that I haven't used in a while. You can link the order back to your Apple IDand change things, but it's all shut down and locked right now.

I wasn’t planning on upgrading but the trade in amount is only £4 less than my current loan.

The app on iPad and iPhone was terribly buggy though and kept failing to load pages or get annoyed with phone numbers.


I lost my day 1 pick-up and ended up with an October delivery instead.

first time I remember it being so difficult - previously once the store was up it worked fine.

May Apple go **** itself.

Worst ordering experience ever. 6-7 min after the alleged opening I got into the store on Apple's app (iPad). Went through the ordering but couldn't accept my phone number. Server error.

Great.

Reloaded website, finally got in. Order again. Only pickup available. Delivery slipped. Great. So I chose pickup. MAYOR lags everyhwere. Each time I picjked a pickup time and location and went to pay it errored out "time slot already taken". Over and over and over again at all six Apple stores in town. Honestly the worst f thing I've experienced in 15 years ordering.

So I changed it back to delivery. Time slipped again already into Mid-OCTOBER.

Well great. Thanks alot for letting me wait 5-6 weeks because you're too f stupid to run a webshop in 2022. Seriously. **** you Apple. If I didn't have a trade in I wouldn't even bother with you.

I am sure I am just adding to the various complaints and comments, but it is frustrating that you cannot modify your order when Apple continues to have the wrong shipping address for you, even despite changing it several times. I keep on reaching out to them via chat and all I get back is "try again in a few hours." It shouldn't be hard to implement a system where you can modify your order or even cancel it. I am leaning towards cancelling at this time.

I’ve purchased a new iPhone every year, and it’s never really been easy. Today was a total farce, I did the pre-order for pre-order (that in itself is a joke).

The store populates my order no issue, then it says my billing address has an issue, then it has an issue with my mobile number. Then it has errors processing, the it came up with an inventory error. I watched the delivery dates slip. To cut a long and frustrating story short, they only way I could get an iPhone was to get it delivered to a furniture store pick up point lol

The curious part of me was confused, so I thought I’d try getting one using Apple Pay. Surprise it went straight through…

So the pre-pre order system failed. All the money and tech apple have and they can not create an order management and payment system that works.

I asked them if I could cancel and they said no, they can't even pull up the order.
 
I used my iPad and had no issues. Aside from the 3-5 minute delay of when the store actually went live, I was able to get my pre-order quick and easy. I noticed when clicking the "see your phone" link in my pre-order confirmation email, it kept launching the Apple Store which was not working at all. Switched to Chrome, oddly enough, and was able to complete my purchase through there.
 
You can't even CANCEL an order right now! I purchased an Apple Watch Ultra a few days ago thought the Apple App and decided to go through my carrier instead..unable to cancel Apples order.
 
Ordering was a pain. Reminded me on when I used to get up at 2 am. I ordered and delivery says 23 rd so I ordered another with AT&T for the 16th. It could be worse I got 3 ultra watches on order. It decided which to cancel.
