T-Mobile account verification system is completely borked. Between Apple and T-Mob, it's amazing how bad these companies are at planned product launches.
When I was getting setup saw that Verizon needed a credit check, not sure why they never tend to need that unless you are financing through them which I wasn’t, I have my credit locked so just chose any carrier activate later.

That is odd. What spec and how quickly did you get in. I was out by 5:03 and mine is listed as release day
iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB Space Black for AT&T. My husband’s order went through at 8:02am & mine went through at 8:06am. During checkout for both delivery was 9/16 with standard delivery. Once we got the emails both say delivery 9/23 by postal service.
 
This is by far the worst experience ever. I was online at 1pm (U.K.) time, it’s now almost 5pm and I still cannot order. I completed the pre pre order, but when I try to check out it tells me the phone number is invalid. The same phone number I used for all previous orders. Delivery date now mid October. Just so pissed off, honestly.

There are numerous reports of this same issue around the forums. So far Apple reps response haven't been consistent, but most reports of "Apple doesn't ship these by the USPS" and it must be an error. The basic assumption is that this is a glitch, and at some point these will revert to Standard Delivery and the promised 9/16 date. Especially as some of many of these orders were placed in the first 5 minutes - and many of the same config phones were (and still are) available for 9/16 delivery on the website....

I 100% agree. I had exactly the same error and I know of others who did too. I managed to place my order eventually via the website after 90 mins but I’m in the 3-10 Oct camp. Same phone number I’ve used for years suddenly isn’t accepted 🙄. Expect better from a multi billion dollar tech company
 
T-Mobile systems must be completely messed up. This is what I get when trying to pre-order and enter my T-mo account info.

My account is most definitely NOT inactive. For another line on that same account it sorta went through in that I got an email saying that while they are waiting for T-mobile systems to respond, they reserved my phone and I should look out for a second email...at some point.

So I think out of two phones, I was able to pre-order half of one?! Well done...#slowclap
I got the reserved phone thing. My mom, who is also on my account, just kept hitting the button and somehow it went through. I got the text confirmed the carrier financing. haha Oh T-Mobile.

Yea that’s what I’m thinking.
 
Ordered through the Verizon Website. Timer hit 8 am before my clock did and I immediately clicked the button when it became active. I went through the steps and got it in to my cart when it errored out about Edge up not being in the cart or whatever. Then I thought I'd log in and try, which worked until I go to the checkout. I clicked the button and it said the payment was declined. Pressed it again and same. Finally pressed it a third time and a 2 factor verification from my bank popped up which I completed and it went through. I've had debating on paying off my 13 Pro Max with Verizon so I could get the 14 Pro Max on the iPhone Upgrade Plan (allowing me to "pre-pre-order" and freeing me from being bound to a carrier) but given all the issues the Apple Store was having I'm glad I didn't.
 
I did everything using my laptop yesterday, logging in to my account this morning to complete the pre-order, clicking on Saved iPhone for Pre-Order, and getting this message: Information about Devices is currently unavailable. Please check back later.
Used the iPhone Apple Store app to complete the check out and it worked smoothly....delivery 10/10-10/17
 
Mine crashed when I clicked 'pay'. Repeat the order again, secured the order... only to realise my first order went through after all, and now I got myself not 1, but 2 iPhone Pro Max. 🤣
Same thing happened to me, double order of the 2nd gen AirPods Pro. Kinda nuts this happens every year and Apple can't figure it out ...

It kept booting me out. Got my order done but have to go to store to pick it up. The system was very off this morning.
 
And the stupid pre order that I did yesterday was nowhere to find this morning so had to do it all over again. Apple needs to fire all people that manage their online store.

It sucks to read about all these negative experiences. I did the preparing in advance on the Apple Store app two days ago (I’m with T-mobile) and at 5:05am the store went back online for me and took two taps and my order was placed and confirmed. 😅
 
I did my order 28 minutes late on AT&Ts website and still shows shipping 9/15, they use FedEx overnight.
It still shows 9/16 delivery on their website.
 
No issues for me except the store didn’t let me in right away and I got in 7 minutes late. Still was able to get a launch day delivery. Setting up me preorder ahead of time really made the process smooth.
 
The system is still off - It's unreal that 5 hours after it went live I cannot place an order.
You have to cancel your pre pre order and start over, I had the same issue with my Barclays finance order. Cancelling it and doing it over on the website worked fine though. But Oct 3-10 delivery date.
