Apple Store Experiencing Issues With iPhone 14 Pre-Orders

Why do I find reading these comments so addicting? Is it a shared traumatic experience that I thought I was experiencing all by myself?

Really?!? I remember the disaster when Jobs' Apple tried to roll out the 3G iPhone, the App Store and .me all on the same day. I also remember the activation nightmares that occurred for some people in the first few generations of iPhone. And, of course there's always "Antennagate"…

Steve's regime was definitely not without hiccups.

Apple's become a well oiled behemoth since then. Rollouts should have minimal if any hiccups. Totally different company than back in the 3G days.

Got in right at 5:00AM PST, had my phone order confirmation in my inbox at 5:00am and my AirPods confirmation at 5:01AM. Apple Store App on my iPhone has always been the quickest ordering method for me.

I had to upgrade two iPhone 6sPlus to iPhone 14 Max 512. Since I have an AARP discount on my AT&T account that allows NO setup fee, I had to place the orders via the AT&T app. I was surprised I was able to place my order 4:57 AM PST (Confirmation at 4:57 AM and 5:00 AM). The ship date is Sept 15, 2022. For once, AT&T came through with an easy transaction, and taxes will be paid on my next AT&T bill.

Got in at 13.02pm here in UK. But multiple friends still trying with no luck.

After a lot of very slow errors, I got through to selecting a launch day pickup time in store. Then it errored out and pickup was unavailable and now shipping dates are into middle of October (which I won’t do anyway because of theft risk).

I just decided not to order. My 7+ lives to fight another day.

I got my order in (Pro Max, 256, deep purple) for delivery on 9/16, but only after I tried and failed to do in-store pick-up. I got a weird "update contact info" message and then when I went through processing, I was back to standard delivery at home.

I am getting deep purple Pro, 1TB to picked up in-store on 09.16.2022

It was very strange indeed. I got into the store at 5 minutes past. While a friend couldn't get in until after 15 minutes, despite trying from different devices etc. Since I'm using a Mac and he a Windows PC, I told they were prioritising their most loyal customer ;-)

But then we both had errors at check-out so I missed the pickup at the local store, and instead have to wait a few more days for it to be delivered. Oh well, no big deal just a bit annoying.

I had all my devices lined up on my desk ready to order, what loaded for me before anything else: Official APP for the Apple Store, on my iPad. Got a couple orders placed for me and the wife.

My browsers/phone/etc all took a lot longer, had to refresh the links, etc. BestBuy and T-Mobile were even worse.

Welcome to the world of pre-ordering any product ever (ahem, PS5/XSX/GPU's anyone??), I feel Apple has the least hiccups!

I still love how Apple still uses the term "pre-order". Don't know about anyone else but I actually ORDERED my iPhones today.

Wife's phone went through no problem (upgrade program).

My order was a bit of a mess. Finally got in, everything was good to go, selected store and time, when I pressed place order, it greyed out in store pick up, only to show shipping. Tried again... and again... finally did shipping for launch day delivery.

First year I wont be picking up in store for myself since I can remember. I guess I'll be picking it up for my wife lol.

Yup. App failed. Didn't allow access until 8:13am EST then it failed to place order for pick up.

Mobile Safari allowed the order for pick up at 1pm EST. At least I'm not going into work late.

I tried mobile, the App, from my Mac… it just didn’t work!!!

This is annoying, why did I save a pre-order on Tuesday then? It kept giving me errors, now my delivery is for Oct. 🙄😠

I just came here to watch all the over-privileged adult-childs (chults?) cry and scream about having to wait a few extra weeks to replace the completely capable pocket computer they already have so they can watch TikTok that much harder.

Got through around 8:03 and got both orders in, showing 9/16 for delivery.

Have email confirmation of my first pre order that I thought I did not get, but the order is stand alone
on its only page. Not thinking my first order bombed my second order went thru and is with my regular
order page. Original order 09/28. Second order I will cancel 10/03.

that is why i use ATT. my orders were done by 7:55. they let us in early. never use apple.

Did the same and pre ordered 5 min before 7a central. Very easy.

It allowed me about 4-5 minutes in. They were not ready for the influx. Oh well. Just glad it went through.
