Apple's become a well oiled behemoth since then. Rollouts should have minimal if any hiccups. Totally different company than back in the 3G days.
You would think. But, do you really know the processes behind any of it. You'd be surprised how many big companies have things that are loosely stuck together and patched to get them working. I worked for some bigger companies in the past, and they do the same crap code that smaller companies do to get problems solved.

I've even heard stories about a lot of Apple OS / SDK code that isn't even unit tested.

It took about four tries; guessing the demand is high for the Digital Island...
EDIT: Ok, I quoted the wrong post. This was a reply to #108. Probably the Apple Store's fault...

Actually, it will probably boost the share price.

Overwhelming sales beats digital store failures over the long term.

Was standard delivery the only option or was there an express delivery option?
I don't think the terminology really matters. I ordered 2 iPhones today; 1 says express delivery (iPhone 14) and the other (iPhone Pro 14) says standard delivery. Only important thing is both have Fri, 9/16 as delivery dates.

I had no issues. Store opened late though, at 05:02 approx. I went in and confirmed my pre-order and got a confirmation email at 05:03. Ordered the AirPods then and got confirmation at 05:04.

Messy. I seem to now have two iphone 14s ordered, but only want one (both show delivery on Sept 19 to my address in Canada). First order doesn’t show up attached to my apple ID (huh?) so I can’t find the order to cancel. I can see the second order but I’m not going to cancel it until I know what’s happening with the first order.

This happens everytime Apple release a new watch, iphone of macbook and has been doing so for the past number of years but does the Apple customer base take them to task over it? nope, they will complain, moan, shout, argue but still purchase Apple products. Apple will never change one bit because they know their customers will eventually accept the crap purchasing service that is given to them.

I was able to order through the website for my wife. Pro 14 Max, purple, 256gb. However, they wouldn't let me do an inshore pickup so it is getting delivered. Then I tried ordering mine and I was on Tim Apple's Wild Ride for the last hour. It finally went through and I was able to pick it up at my local Apple Store on launch Pro Silver, 256GB. This was an absolute terrible experience.

Ordered two iPhones at 8:02 ET with zero issue. Set them up a couple days ago through pre order on my Apple Card. I was even on ****** cellular data. Two separate orders too.

I got into t mobile early and ordered well before 7 but they started having issues apparently also. Guess I got lucky

The Apple Store App on my Ipad works perfectly amazingly, was in at 5:01 and completed both preorder for the Purple 14 Pro 256gb and the Purple 14 Pro Max 256gb. I even then went back out and place a new order for the Purple 14 Pro Max 512gb. All 3 got 9/16 delivery date.

I preordered mine to pick up in store and I do not know how, it switch to delivery at home. I even pick up the times and my favorite store.

They can only bring on so much bandwidth at a time; guessing they are using a lot of AWS servers right now... It looks like demand is higher then than they planned...

Yup, App finally loaded at 8 minutes after. Continually crashed and stalled so I moved to my laptop. Finally finished putting in my order for 14 Pro 256's in Black and Purple. Still got a Sept 16th in store pickup but good lord this was the worst pre-order experience in awhile. What's up, Apple?
Lucky. Slipped into 16 October here. **** em. Honestly.

When Vox Media's LiQuan Hunt complained to Cook that his mother couldn't see the videos he sent her because they had different phones, the Apple chief replied: "Buy your mom an iPhone."

My advice to Tim Cook is to buy Amazon Web Services so that my order will actually go through to buy my mom that iPhone.

Had trouble at first, but got in about 5 minutes after the store was suppose to open using the store app on my phone.

Well somehow I ordered 2 separate orders one shows in orders the other only shows if I click on order status in the email. Definitely have two order numbers and 2 email comformations. Now just planing on the mess of sending in the old one hoping the return kit box is attached to the correct order so I get credit and not an apple gift card
