The first time I tried to order, the system crashed after I hit submit. When I tried again, I was able to get through but the delivery date had understandably slipped (from 23rd to 28th Sep). I just checked the Order page and it shows that both orders actually went through although I’ve not received an email confirmation on either order. I’ll wait a few hours as the system is overloaded at the moment. If indeed both orders went through, I’ll just cancel the second order and get my iPhones on the earlier date.

I can only imagine how many orders are coming in simultaneously that even Apple can’t solve this problem every year.

That happens.
I don't understand how that just "happens." I didn't choose shipping, went through the process of choosing a pickup time and placed the order without error. Hopefully it can be changed, since I don't have any sort of access to the address it chose to ship it to, and as far as I can see, that address isn't even in my account any longer.

The whole system is frustrating and infuriating. It's about time it was made simpler for the customer.

I used the ’get ready for pre-order‘ setup last night and it worked surprisingly well. Left the store website opened on my MacBook and opened it at 6am MST. Saw the be right back screen and refreshed every 30 seconds until about 6:05. Once it let me in, I clicked on my shopping cart and the “iPhones ready for pre-order” and it had all my selections loaded and I just had to confirm checkout.

I got lucky With it being pretty easy!

I suggest trying this get ready for pre-order process to y’all for the future.
Many folks, myself included, did that and still experienced issues. I was all ready to go but the check-out kept resetting after selecting a check-in window at my local Apple store. I switched to Delivery and in the 5 s between when I clicked the final Check-Out button and the Order Confirmation appeared, the Delivery date changed to Sept. 22-26.

I got in a little after 8am EST (they never let you in right at 8, so I'm used to having to do the force close-reopen-repeat dance) and got through my order and stuff without any issues. Only quirk was that it said delivery on 9/16 when I ordered, and then the confirmation email said 9/23. Regardless, I can be patient and wait until 9/23 if I have to. Hopefully it gets bumped up to launch day, but we'll have to see....
Same with mine & my husbands. His order was processed at 8:02am & mine was at 8:06am. Both showed 9/16 delivery at check out but both of our emails say delivery 9/23 by postal service which is weird because they only deliver via UPS & FedEx.

May Apple go **** itself.

Worst ordering experience ever. 6-7 min after the alleged opening I got into the store on Apple's app (iPad). Went through the ordering but couldn't accept my phone number. Server error.

Great.

Reloaded website, finally got in. Order again. Only pickup available. Delivery slipped. Great. So I chose pickup. MAYOR lags everyhwere. Each time I picjked a pickup time and location and went to pay it errored out "time slot already taken". Over and over and over again at all six Apple stores in town. Honestly the worst f thing I've experienced in 15 years ordering.

So I changed it back to delivery. Time slipped again already into Mid-OCTOBER.

Well great. Thanks alot for letting me wait 5-6 weeks because you're too f stupid to run a webshop in 2022. Seriously. **** you Apple. If I didn't have a trade in I wouldn't even bother with you.

No need to get so angry. It’s just a phone. It’s not like you don’t already have a working phone. Life is too short to get mad over something so trivial.

So glad I did the pre-pre-order thing. Refreshed the app every 10 seconds, for a couple minutes. Got in and 10 seconds later, my order was in. 256GB Pro Max purple

Messed up my first order of a 14 P and 14 PM, so I made a second order right after. Both orders worked and all four iPhones are set to arrive on release day. Gonna cancel the first one when they allow me to...
You should try to call them as soon as possible. I had to cancel an iPhone one year, couldn’t do it right away so I tought I would do it later. When the option became available later that day, I couldn’t cancel because it was processing already. And the person on the phone try to do something but they shipped the phone anyway and I had to pay for it. The only thing they could do is tell the carrier to ship it back and not deliver it. Still had to wait a little to get my money back.

had no issues ordering 2 new 14 Pro Max, literally took 1 min, was all set with pre order through Apple Card...store still took about 2 mins after 6am mountain time to go live...still can't believe how different and efficient it is now, I stood on line for 9 hrs at the Apple store 5th ave. for the 3GS or iPhone 4😳 what was I thinking!

I have mine ordered, got eMail confirmation, arrival date of Sep 16…but my card is not charged yet. Is it normal?

Previously set-up my IUP pre-order yesterday and finalized at 8:00 am EDT this morning. Ordered a 14 Pro 1TB Silver. Had confirmation email at 8:01 am. Scheduled delivery Friday 9/16.

EDIT: I did have issues with the store ordering accessories after ordering my phone. Didn't complete that transaction until around 8:45 am. I ordered an umber leather case and a forest green wallet.

1.5 hours later. I still haven't gotten any confirmation email nor do the two orders I've done show up on apple.com. What a ****ing **** show

Ordered 14 Pro Max 256 Black. Exact same thing happened to me! Exact same date slippage! Used Apple Store App from iPhone 13 Pro to order. I did pre-order yesterday. Couldn‘t get into store until a few minutes past. Order confirmation went relatively quick with a small hesitation before order confirmation screen.
Wondering if I should I just cancel my order and try my luck with Apple store pickup as sometimes the store will allow pickup sooner...

I’m in exactly the same boat. No idea how to fix. I was in the app completing my preorder after about 2 mins but can’t get past this error.

Aggravating
Let me know if you fix it. I can’t understand why myself and my wife are having the same problem

If it was having issues with your phone number, that was most likely your carries site's API failing, not Apple.
