So many lessons to learn for so many post-iPhone Apple product users. Nothing is new under the sun. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, you'll get it after a few keynote decades, none of this is news.

Apple UK rate them high enough to set up concessions in their stores.
I think that is not particularly accurate. Apple (UK) probably doesn't rate them but Apple is aware of how many people shop at big box stores and that DSG is a leading chain of these types of stores. Also DSG want to sell Apple Macs/iphones/ipads etc... because they are wildly popular, DSG might not make much money selling Apple products but they hope people will buy third party products which DSG will make more profit on. DSG know that if they don't carry Apple products then their customers will go to their competitors and buy them and perhaps other products.

I'm not even sure how much if anything Apple would pay for an in-store concession. I've no clue of retail but its certainly a lot cheaper for Apple to have its stock inside a lot of electronics stores where people can see and try their products throughout the country rather than open up another 100 official Apple stores.

You're quite right.

I'm used to 'colour ways' from talking about clothing/fashion.

To everyone huffed up over COLOUR WAYS - stop playing silly buggers about it.

It is just their vernacular, not grammar to be upset over. Learn the meaning if you are keen on knowing what on earth they are saying ... or ignore it.

There is so much real errors to sweat over, like saying GB when meaning TB, actual spelling or sentence formation goofs.

Sorry but do you understand how negative you're being (for all your posts)? Yes we get the point but if it were to be 'rinse and repeat' we'd just see the iPhone 3 be released time and time again with no changes to it.

I really think you should access your messages before you post!

I know what the rumors have said (just in case you forgot which website you were on), and a 4" iPhone with the internals of the 6 in it is simply a rebranded 5s. But I'm sure people will be happy and it will sell like hotcakes so Apple won't be forced to actually make a design change to radically reduce the overall size of the bigger screen phones.

A 4" iphone with 6 internals is not a rebranded 5s, it is a 6 with a new form factor. The internals are the phone, the screen is just a size.
I don't expect the phone to sell all that well. Sure there are some folks who want that size phone. But it will be hard to convince them that the internals are still first rate and that they warrant the price that Apple is likely to charge. But when I say the phone won't sell all that well, I'm not saying it won't be the third highest selling phone over the next six month. The 5c was a "failure" but it also sold in vast numbers compared to any phone other than Samsung Galaxies.

One day they'll upgrade their e-commerce systems so that they don't need to take the store offline for several hours when making changes

In fairness, kinda rude to let people order stuff which is planned for deprecation that day (most customers aren't aware of release/announcement day). Since they can't reveal it by not letting people order the soon-old versions (lest exploited by rumor-mongers ordering 1 of EVERYTHING and seeing what comes up, or not), they should just shut down the store for a few hours. It's not like customers are going to not buy when the site comes back up (at least a meaningful number, vs the greater irritation of ordering something deprecated minutes/hours later).

All are looking forward to it, the ones pretending to be least anxious are the most anxious

It seems from lack of rumours of other products that it could be a quiet event in terms of new announcements.

Apple is really falling behind on its Mac line whether thats due to Intel or whether its Apples decision to leave new release products until nearer the summer.

If there are new Mac products announced today then I predict the most likely is 2nd Gen Retina MacBooks but perhaps no second port although it would seem likely TB3 over USB-Type C will be included whenever it gets released.

. . . What's needed is a "very dumb" TV that's just a display with plenty of HDMI and USB ports for dongles & "set-top" boxes... Not even sure that it needs a sound system given most 'TV buffs' are going to want a surround setup with Dolby/THX's latest twanglywooshdum.

...or for wall-mounting, maybe a display with a single, custom power/video connector (given that you're going to need at least a power cable for the foreseeable future) leading to an external box with power supply, & HDMI inputs.

Wouldn't that be funny, Apple revolutionizing the market with a TV that is nothing but a Screen and a bunch of ports. In the end, that is all I need. I have smart devices that need something to connect to. So now I am looking into industrial monitors instead of all of the smart crap at the big box store.

This sounds dumb, for many reasons, but I just hope there is something worth buying announced today. Even though we know what's coming, I still want to be wowed. You can do it Apple...

I don't think it's hate, it's just a boring re-branding of the 5s. Glad everyone who wants a 4" iPhone will have a refreshed option, but IMO it's the wrong solution to the issue of the iPhone ... for it's screensize.

An iPhone 5s issued as iPhone SE with changed storage options (32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, etc.) is re-branding! An iPhone 6s issued in the popular 4 inch casing is a fresh iPhone in the same year-cycle.

Apple is correcting a mistake by issuing the smaller foot-print model, just like it caved in and issued the 4.7" and 5.5" sizes to catch up to Samsung/Androids phablet fans!

Never have I cared so little about an Apple event. It's either I'm getting old or Apple's getting boring.

you know, i'm with ya. i think it's getting boring and losing it's hype. no need to pro-long this thing. it's always the nonsense of previous year in review and how well each item did in the market. what are schools doing with their iPad. what are filmmakers doing with their iPhones, yada yada yada.

I'll be watching, but nothing I'm really interested in: Watch bands, iPads, or iPhone 5SE. It'd be cool if they show a sneak peak of iOS 10, though.
