Post-iPhone Apple customers who have an iPhone but don't know how to do anything outside messaging or dialling, who can't see past next year's iPhone updates and only have a Mac to compliment their decor.

There's more to Apple than iPhones, and we were here long before you'd even heard the word. This place has changed noticeably, even in just 4 or 5 years. Stupid comments used to be relevant and encased in an intelligent, intellectual context, whereas now it's just stupid comments from stupidity and a position of dumb consumer boredom and DEMANDING Apple entertain them.

Silly kids, go to the circus, hopefully the lions are hungry.

I think the statement on the website is too big for it to be an iPhone 5, some watch bands and an iPad, which isn't anything we're all being overly enthusiastic about.

I have high hopes for new Mac hardware.

The problem is that Apples last "industry defining reveal" was the iPad for tablets in 2010 – and in 2014, Apple proved with revealing the Apple Watch that, without Jobs, they have finally lost their unparalleled iPod – iPhone – iPad ...??? run. Nothing to be ashamed of, it was this SUCCESS story which was "abnormal" (from almost bankruptcy to most valuable company of the world in 15 years with three hit products almost every company would wish having only ONE of them in their lifetime) – not falling down slowly, but surely back to earth again now. Doesn't change the fact that the louder and louder whining isn't about small updates and refinements *every other year*, but because of the fact that there doesn't seem to come ANY revolutionary reveal from Apple anymore. Tthe curse of Apple own success.

do you realize that a revolution that happens every three/five years, and that is expected is not really a revolution?
Do you realize how much effort it takes to revolutionize an industry AND a lifestyle?
First iPod, then iPhone, then iPad, then Apple Watch. It's just a progression, not a revolution. The revolution happens when the customer's lifestyle changes, and the industry changes. It's not (only) the product itself, you might have the most revolutionary product (Original Mac) and still fail. Right?

I thought the Apple Watch was just getting band updates? Was there any hardware update rumors that I missed or is "Apple Watch updates" just misleading wording?

Apple's online storefront has been taken offline this morning, less than six hours prior to the company's upcoming "Let Us Loop You In" media event at its Cupertino campus, where Tim Cook's executive team is expected to announce the new 4-inch iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and Apple Watch updates.

I'm going to die if it's just the loop that they put on the back of the iPod touch. Now it's on iPhone. lol

It would be awesome if the keynote doesn't bring ANYTHING new.

"Just keeping you in the loop... we're working on the best iPhones and Macs ever. Welcome to stage Jony Ive."

"Our technology has advanced to the point where iPhone will be 0.3mm thinner in the Autumn. Also I've redesigned some icons."

"Thank you Jony, now time for Eddy Cue."

"Apple Music is awesome. Beats radio is awesome. Everything is awesome."

"Thank you Mr Cue, time for Tim Cook."

"We made boatloads of money last year. Thanks everyone. And one more thing... we have partnered with Louis Vuitton for new iPad cases."

Event over! Meltdown time!

Has anyone considered that maybe they will announce their streaming TV service today?

I continue to wonder if Apple will ever release bands that include functionality not included with a standard band. One thing runners REALLY want for the Watch is a GPS. If Apple released a band with a GPS that integrated smoothly with the Watch I'd buy in a second (Apple would probably tell you it is the most accurate second in history).

Other bands could be for other health specific issues.

But as others have said, I have zero excitement for this event. I do plan to buy a 4in iPhone to have as my 'travel' phone when I don't want to carry around the excess size of my iPhone 6s. The 4in is still my favorite size.

I simply mean a new product which "revolutionizes" / creates a mass market which didn't exist like that before and becomes a new essential part of the customer's daily life. The iPod, the iPhone and the iPad all did that for the masses. Every four years. Again, it's ABNORMAL for a company to achieve this, but Apple did and this is the unique success they are expected to live up to.

And yes, of course, there will always be revolutionary or better products out there who fail and other succeed. But what is the point of this argumentation in this case? That the Apple Watch is an as "revolutionary" device as the iPod-iPhone-iPad, but the customer's "wrong" lifestyle just doesn't fit right now?

You say: "The revolution happens when the customer's lifestyle changes, and the industry changes." – Apple even was capable to this the exact same way around: They first released a product which then changed the customer's lifestyle.

Doesn't change the fact though that the louder and louder whining isn't about small updates and refinements *every other year*, but because there doesn't seem to come ANY revolution from Apple anymore. The curse of Apple own success.

I hate, too, that I have become an Apple whiner since about a year - although, to my defense, quite late to the whining party. But it surely has its reasons.

Yeah? And when was the last time Acer or Lenovo rocked the boat?

Apple watch may not be your cup of tea and all, not really mine either yet, but it still stands as the best reviewed smart watch on the market, number one selling as well. Only fitbit sells more units in a similar catagory and that retails for what? Half the price or less? They took the smart watch catagory as number one.. what else can they do? The segment isnt ready yet for every other person to have one, whereas the time for the iphone was ripe. The year leading up to its release had every other person talking about how they sure do wish their ipod was a phone too.

Macbook 12 is being lauded as the future of laptops.. I think Apple is doing very well. They just dont sing to niche market groups anymore and are going for the nonpro market because it is massive. Every other product release has been a home run, and the others are sitting pretty well. Apple is killing it.

Apple Car drives around the loop.

Not likely. CBS all but said that's not going to happen anytime soon, at least with their service which is essential part of any package Apple offers.

Yeah? And when was the last time Acer or Lenovo rocked the boat?

Didn't I explain the dilemma of Apple own unbelievable success story – in comparison to normal, "boring" companies like Acer and Lenovo – detailed enough?

Apple could also release an egg cuter and it surely would be impressive that Apples egg cutter took over "over 90% of the egg cutter market" already in the first year. The difference to the iPod-iPhone-iPad is that Apple has created MUCH bigger markets with them (in terms of selling and being a part in people's daily life) and that's one of the main components of these success. I don't see this happening with the Apple Watch right now, although somebody probably will now point out that the original iPhone didn't sell that well either and that it takes its time.

By the way, I even OWNED an Apple Watch and will buy the second generation, too. Doesn't change the fact that this device is much too expensive for what it does and that the masses surely won't be as stupid as me to pay that much money for it.

I'd like Apple to answer the MS Surface Book -- touch screen, detachable from keyboard, tablet that you can do stuff on, OSX not just iOS. If MS can do it, why can't Apple do it (better).

I disagree. the iPod did not really change the customers' lives, except young kids who listened to music. It was a huge improvement compared to what was available before, but it was not a life changer for most of the population. Do you know what is the real contribution of the iPod? It made Apple look cool again. It was the perfect tool for rebranding.

The iPhone is what changed lives, and the iPhone is in part an iPod derivative. The iPhone transcended age, sex, religion or whatever. You can see an 80yo using an iPhone as you can see a 12yo kid. iPod ? No, you couldn't.
The iPad is an iPhone derivative; a great product, but not as revolutionary as the iPhone. It changed how we do a lot of things, but it's not a revolution. It's a great product. And so the watch (althogh personal devices are slightly different).
If you look closely, there is one product that brought some of the technology/infrastructure ( iPad) and one product that was truly revolutionary (iPhone), yet a derivative of the work done on the previous product.

No, it's simply to early to tell if the Apple Watch is revolutionary. It's not instantaneous. I may remember it wrong, but I think that the huge success of iPhone happened with iPhone 4. It takes time,
