You're prolly right. I have to work on Friday and even if i didn't i don't think i will camp overnight again. I did it in 2010 and when it was finally my turn, they didn't have the phone i wanted. It was not a good experience.

you can't expect to go latter at night and expect to get a phone, you need to line up before 5 PM on Thursday to even have a chance.

Since when? I know people from years past who've gotten phones at Apple stores by lining up around midnight or even 1 am.

At our apple store which is the largest apple store in our state, for the iPhone 6/6+ launch people start lining up at 10AM on Thursday, so by around 5PM is generally the cut of time to get a choice of phone.

Ya I will wait in line most probably on Thursday afternoon like around 2PM or so, but I will go at 10AM when the store opens to see if anyone lines up at that point.

I'd love to know if these people have jobs or if they decided to burn some vacation days just for this. There's no one outside my nearest Apple Store just drove past it today.

People def use vacation days for the iphone release. I know a few people personally who take vacation for it. Not that serious to me when I can preorder and have it delivered day 1.

Since there is no Apple Store near me (three hours is closet). I will be heading to my local VZW in West Texas about 4 am on Friday since they will open at 8 am. I figure I have a good chance of being first in line, and if I am first in line and even if my VZW store only has one of each model/size/capacity phone in stock, I will get what I want which is a 32GB/7/black matte.

this and i wfh so...win win lol but I can't wait for UPS Truck so I'm going to pick it up at UPS CC

I am so close to just cancelling my order with best buy and lining up at an apple store late thursday/early friday. I don't know what else to do. I got screwed by Verizon. Couldn't order through apple. and when it came down to it, the best option at the time seemed to be ordering through best buy. now I feel like I shouldn't have done that at all and just faced it, that if i wanted a phone on launch day, this year, my only option was to line up.

There are people who would be willing to sit in line for you if you paid them some cash for their time and you could switch place with them

Doesn't surprise me, both apple stores in the Raleigh area are always packed even when it's not a product launch. It's going to be a zoo at both those stores. I have never waited in a apple store line for anything, for the iPhone 5 I drove up and checked it out and it was forever long, drove across the street to the Best Buy and walked in with about 30 other people and we all got phones. The shipping estimate online now is 2-3 weeks for most models at the Apple store, that's not bad.

In that past when you could not do online preorders, I would camp out. I just took the day off work.

Yep my buddy is in Durham and he said people were already outside of Southpoint. I do think everyone should wait in line at least once. I did for the 5S but that was at a Verizon store. I cant even imagine how it would be at the Apple Store.

Haven't you guys seen this?

"We’ve also learned that most Apple retail stores will have very limited or no stock of iPhone 7 units this year. In a change from previous iPhone launches, many Apple retail stores won’t have stock of iPhone 7 reserved for customers lining up for launch day later this week on September 16. Instead, customers will be mostly limited to stock of iPhone 7 available to order online."

Yes we have and some one also contacted their apple store and it seems there will be phones at larger apple stores.

Tee, how long was the line for the 5S when you waited in line at Verizon and what time did you get in line bruh?

I probably got to the store around 3:30am and I was the 3rd person in line. Now this was a small city in NC so there weren't that many people. The line did grow but it was nothing crazy.

It was us three in line until around 5am or so and then more people started to roll up.
