Hah, the fact that the tweet has 5 "m" in mmmmm, the last image of whichever MacBook this is being introduced is in the shape of a V (roman numeral for 5), this is just a beautiful setup
 
I wonder if something powerful translates to the M5 Pro and M5 Pro Max. They were originally rumored for Spring ‘26 but would be awesome if they release them now.
 
If it is only a base M5 I wouldn’t get too excited. I have a base M4, which is often slower than my M1 Pro, so not super impressed with the M4.
IMO, the one to wait for is the M5 Pro (or Max) if you really want “powerful.”
At what? You're dusting the M1 Pro in single and multicore. M1 Pro has a HW video encoder on it. Memory bandwidth is comparable. M1 Pro has a little more graphics oomph but it's not huge. What could be slower?
