A BIG question is does this signal a change OLED. The is some speculation that Force Touch can't be implemented as well using an LCD display.

However a change to an OLED display is a big design change and seems less likely on an S version (6S).

It's not yet confirmed that the Watch uses OLED display tho.

No more colours Apple please. Gold is hideous enough.

No, they need more colours if anything. Purple/Orange/Black would be good as additions if they do a 6C, and the rose gold does look nice in the metals.

Like with the watch, its better if we don't all have the same looking phone.

Apples touch ID works sometimes but really needs improvement.

This really surprises me as an iPhone 6 owner. It has never and I do mean never failed to detect my finger. I unlock it 15-30 times a day and it's instant and flawless every time.

If your experience differs I'd recommend taking it to Apple and getting it replaced with one that works as intermittent issues are definitely not normal.

They're massively investing in LCD factories, so I'D say no at least in the short term. Apple's volume are massive which may be the real limitations here.

I'd love the emareld green like on the Samsung Galaxy Edge S6

----------

yours must be broken -- on the 6 it works almost flawlessly every time.

As you just said yourself. "Almost flawlessy"

Mine ALWAYS works... Unless I come directly from the bathtub. Then my hands looks like I'm 200 years old and TouchID ofcourse doesn't work :)

If they're improving it, Apple obviously knows it isn't flawless.
It mostly works for me (95%+) and takes a short time to recognise. Occasionally my finger isn't seated properly, and it always fails if my fingers are moist.
It's conceivable that some fingerprint patterns are simply easier to recognise or that some fingers vary in contrast or moisture content, so it may be that the phone is not faulty, but that TouchId has problems with the individual. The first step is to try retraining and/or use a different finger.

I'd like to try this force touch feature... I can imagine those gestures in actions like:

- <Touch to> Open the camera <Press really hard> Right now! Quick!

or

- <Touch to> Dismiss a call <Press really hard> Hey, leave me alone!

Now seriously, I'd like to know how this force touch will differentiate from a long press gesture.

What I'd like to have soon in iOS devices and trackpads is Pressure Detection which would really open a new field for drawing and musical applications...

Because obviously pink will make it so irresistible that every woman on the planet will just *have* to buy an iphone 6 even if they've been avoiding it for the last year because they can't fit it in a pocket or use it one-handed.

Man, I'm good.... :D

Now, available in Pink.

They have to make a pink phone to get more users from Android over.
