Essentially, the likely dates in regards to the iPhone 6s and 6s+ are:

September 8, 2015 -- public presentation to show off the new models. They will likely use the Flint Center at De Anza College like last year. That presentation will also unveil the new Apple TV streaming box.

September 16, 2015 -- iOS 9.0 (final release version) is made available for public download.

September 18, 2015 -- the iPhone 6s and 6s+ go on sale in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, South Korea and Japan.

Australia got first dibs with iPhone 6, last year.

The sooner the better please (so they can get to October and new Mac announcement(s.))

I look forward to the OS X / Mac events more these days, I think its time Apple update the Thunderbolt Display (if they don't this year, then they never will)

And I'm waiting for a Time Capsule with more TeraBytes. Aren't they refreshing it every two years? It's about time.

2. Plex
3. Plex

Getting an official Plex client instead of continuing with a hack such as PlexConnect was the reason I got myself a Nexus Player when YouTube stopped working on my 2nd generation Apple TV. If the App Store comes to the Apple TV with Plex included, I'll be getting the new Apple TV without any hesitation unless they go absolutely bonkers with the European pricing.
This. This right here is the one thing I've been wanting to see happen which would cause me to go out and just buy one. I don't know enough about Plex anymore to ask an informed question, but are there or does Apple allow other media players on the AppleTV?

I agree.

My interest in upgrading from my 6+ to the 6S+ this year is considerably less than upgrading in previous years. Apple did a great job with the 6, 6+ last year. I will end up upgrading anyway, but I'm just not checking the boards for details as feverishly as I have in the past. Anyone other 6, 6+ owners?
I had a 4s that started giving up the ghost in March so I had to upgrade then. I'm pretty happy with it but I was planning on upgrading this fall anyway and still plan on it. I would like the the + version and will use that till it becomes unusable.

if Apple were to make a TV do you think it'd have a crappy display? Absolutely not. The TV would probably have a 4K or 8K resolution, be made out of premium materials, perhaps have a curved screen, and would have Apple's software built into it (perhaps some kind of TV streaming service). A TV with all of those features would cost north of $20,000 to buy. Low demand, and low margin isn't Apple's game.

Curved screen on anything smaller than a movie theater is a gimmick. I don't expect this "feature" it to last long, but it's a draw for those that don't know any better.

If it were an 80 inch screen or better, $20K price point isn't outrageous.

Just a word to the wise...there is no confirmation that this will be called "iPhone 6s," as with such dramatic technical improvements, Apple may skip the 's' interation and simply introduce this as 'iPhone 7' - at least that is my prediction. The "3GS" was the first 'S' phone, and then 4s, 5s, and 6s. I think the public is most likely to go gangbusters on an iPhone 7, than an iPhone 6s, especially if they already have a 6.

It's going to be the 6S. There's no reason to break tradition. S versions have always added features and improvements while keeping the form factor of the non-S version.

Am I right to be really scared about what Apple will do with the ATV and the iTunes store?

I have the feeling they are going to do something to a) gimp the 3rd Gen box (which I have no issues with) to force us to buy the new one and b) do something to the store to screw over all the purchases we already have a c) disable the iTunes Share feature so we can no longer stream our custom media from macs to the ATV. I will be so pissed if they do any of these things.

I'm heavily invested - I have 2 ATVs, 350 iTunes Movies, 30 TV Shows and my entire Blu-ray/DVD Collection of over 2,000 Disks has been ripped and meta-tagged to work with iTunes. I would NEVER forgive Apple if they f'ed with the service at this point. Especially if it's only done to force people to buy new, crappy hardware and sign up for their even crummier cloud/subscription services.

If the rumors are true with a September 11th launch, would apple consider a portion of the donation to the 9/11 funds?

Or better yet, Kodi (formerly XBMC). but I doubt apple would allow Kodi in their app store. or waiting for Jailbrake forever, like ATV 3.

after using AVT 2/3 for many years and Apple made no progress, I went to the other side. I bought a Nexus player and Nvidia Shield TV. Google play store has both Kodi and Plex. Android M is coming this Sep/Oct will have two big features: expandable storage (installing app/games in external USB drive) and bluetooth headphone. These two features will never see the light in Apple camp.
