You must have failed humor classes at school. That thing was the opposite of funny.
This was great!!![]()
Exactly. But at least there's boot camp, so, I'll live.![]()
been itching to jump in on the free ipod touch educational deal, but this may make me hold off a bit. if the price of the mbp are slashed by $200 or more & the ipod prices are dropped by $100, it's pretty much the same as getting a free ipod without having to deal with rebates AND both mbp & touch will have better specs. *sigh* forever the waiting game with apple huh? guess my macbook will have to last me a bit longer before I do the upgrade.
These people amaze me. I really like that though.... I would buy that, I can't wait for this update especially if I get to save $100 haha.
Also for those hoping that this price cut would affect the quality of Apple's products don't worry about it because if you listened to the financial report yesterday they kept on stressing how great the quality of the products they will be releasing will be. Would you expect Apple to release crap products?

In time, your Mac and OSX will overtake your loyalty to that Vista confusion ... Boot Camp will just ease the transition. Few who come to the Mac, leave to return to Windows.![]()
Guess I'll hold off on buying a Macbook just yet, then![]()
Quoted for truth."Don't underestimate the power of the dark side" - (ok, I'm sure everyone here knows where it's from)
I've been on PC since I was 5 years old with an IBM XT running DOS 3, and in that time I've used Apple II computers at school, into early Macintoshes, and beyond. In 2001 in my first time in college I used Macs and have since had chances to use OSX somewhat extensively. This is when I started to dislike Mac - when I had to use it on a more regular basis. When your mind is trained to the details of how to do things in the Windows OS, many things in OSX are counterintuitive and frustrating.
I allow that this could well change, but I'll be using a Vista desktop probably 75% of the time as well, so I won't be going totally naitive. I surely hope that I at least become comfortable enough with OSX to stop trying to close windows on the upper right side eventually and stop clicking on the right part of that one ginormous button...
I guess my point is, that so far my OSX experience is not one of love, and I aim to make it one of tolerance and mutual respect. I also have no problem with my current user experience. I'm running a machine capable of Vista, and have been doing so ever since I was beta testing it nearly 2 years ago.
I'm not trying to be a fly in the ointment, this is a Mac forum, and I'm for sure excited about my new piece of hardware, but it just gets old to hear a reflexive opinion of "PC=bad Apple=perfect" I think both are good systems, both have their pros and cons, and OSX is for sure better for people that haven't used computers, much simpler and easier to learn, it's just not as true when you have to UNlearn things you know well...
Same here. Although I think we won't have to wait much longer. At first I thought new laptops would come in June. Then August. Then October/November. Now it's back to August/September. In my experience, when this happens, a release is not far.I'm desperately waiting too
Figures. I just gave up and bought my wife a MBP last week.
HOW DARE APPLE LOWER THEIR PRICES!!!!!!!
Macintosh's are for the elite class of people who have the grand privilege, given to us by the god, Steven P. Jobs. The thought of disgusting plebeians touching such a device made from the hand of god himself makes me want to jump off a bridge.
(do I need a /sarcasm?)
geebus* he was joking
*"geebus" seems to be the favorite exasperation round these parts... correct me if I be wrong...

LOL My joke did not turn out too well. Sigh.....I feel like..well .. a PC user! That's right I said it

I think people are just saying "Vista Bad - OSX Good". And ... as you said ... you ARE on a Mac Forum. So, to expect anything else, would be foolish.
No, never. They are removing PPC support from OS X entirely with Snow Leopard.
Why would you wish to go back to PPC? Because you liked being locked down to an aging architecture? Because you thought excessive heat was cool? Because you're 14?![]()
Yes, and amongst my other hobbies are pissing directly into the wind...
But seriously, it's easier to take people's thoughts and opinions seriously when they appear motivated by reason and not fanboyism. That's all I'm sayinSince the mac users are elite and all
Hey, is that a pitchfork?

No, because ever since the switch to Intel the quality of Apple products has degraded. I never had a problem with my ibook, but I have had to take my iMac to the Genius Bar 6 times since November.
Don
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is your experience with OSX might not have been good, but to me, PC = okay, and OSX = better. Don't automatically assume PC's are for more techy people and OSX is for the common folk.
Perhaps you just got a bad iMac? I've seen plenty of PPC 'problems' posted as well. Neither of my iMacs have given me any reason to question their quality.
