Ok, Ill bite. Can't believe I have to explain myself but here goes. I said MORE coverage, this is a all things Apple site. Some folks believe the company has been focusing too much on iToys and this is a good sign they are balancing it out a bit. Why someone would vote that negative is beyond me.

Again, if you want Mac rumors not IOS rumors, go to a Mac rumors website.

The next line of MacBooks will have an Apple logo centred on the lid which is four times the size of the current. The glow will be powered from a million tiny lions' roars which will be converted into light.

You heard it here first.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

I want munchkin kitten! Apple should consider cute kitten.

Hate to break it to you guys, but there won't be an OS11. We'll be using a desktop iteration of iOS eventually.

QUITE POSSIBLY.

There can always be OS 10.11 and upwards. I doubt we'll see the next OS, which will merge devices, until later in this decade.

good

Maybe APple can take a hiatus from itoys and spend a year or two catching up. If Lion is a CPU hog, that could be a good thing, and compel Apple to focus on 64-bit app development, e.g., FCP, and i7 MacBook Pro that runs on 16 or 32 gb RAM with 1gb or more GPU with acceleration.

My computers are old and FCP is old, but I don't want to bail to Premiere or Avid like a lot of people are doing. It's crazy to chase software each time a competing company has a better product at the moment.

...Oh well, it was only $30, hopefully 10.7 is just as cheap.

Hummm, no it won't. Sorry. ;)

But since it probably won't be available before (at least) the 2nd or 3rd quarter of next year, you'll still have a long run with SL... And even then, it's still going to be a very capable OS and you won't be forced to upgrade since SL is already "optimized" for Intel hardware.

If 10.7 is lion then does it mean it's also the end of the line for OS X because the lion is the king of all beasts. You can't top it. Hmmm.

Is this a problem? I have never seen it in my life. I went through a dozen random things in my current trash and none of them had it grayed out.

I get it almost every time. I have no idea why, and it annoys me because sometimes you delete something important from a complex folder structure, and you really want to put it back to where it was, and you have no idea where the hell it was. And then of course there's Time Machine, but then what's the point of Put Back if you have to use Time Machine instead anyway? Windows has been doing this without problems for more than a decade. It's so simple, and stupid that OS X can't do this!

I'm really just hoping for cut/paste and some new UI enhancements that take advantage of multi-touch.

Cut and Paste would be great, OS X is the only OS in the world that doesn't support it. How strange!

Here here to the new MBA. But not a refresh, a complete re-imagining. It's been far too long.

Yeah, it could get thinner now that the iPad taught them many things. It needs the new trackpad, a nicer screen and who knows what else... I don't like that it's thicker at the back than at the front, I would love it if it was like the MacBook Pros, just way thinner.

Who says all of those counts are people...bots click on everything.

Or just clumsy people with fat fingers?
Before the new mobile site came up I more than once hit a random vote just trying to scroll the page (using the iPhone).

Ta da... some very ropey photoshop by me....

Made my day!

Well this event will hopefully bring the macs to the next level like Steve said. They should update the MBA and MBP 13" with i3, 15, i7. Also... What about the Xserve? And I can't wait for the next release of OSX. OSX Lion? OSX Cougar?

Snow Leopard has Unix as it's foundation - this alone means Microsoft will struggle to match OS X.

I think somewhere between Tiger and Leopard, OS X went from being "UNIX-like" to being "UNIX - The Real Deal (TM)".

Lynx would be cool but sounds like Linux!!
