And finally how about an iPod Touch/6G with 4.7" screen and possibly in 32/64 & 128 GB?

Unfortunately I think the iPod touch has seen its last generation. It's hardly a significant part of Apple's revenue, and with the popularity of "family sharing" plans from major carriers (in the US, at least), you can own an iPhone 4S for free (or whichever the free model being offered is). So kids don't need to get an iPod anymore instead of an iPhone which does everything and also makes calls (very important to stay in touch).

ipad pro had best be highly pressure sensitive or have some mind-boggling new stylus tech that accomplishes the same thing. designers have been waiting for apple's 'cintiq' since we heard rumors of a tablet in 2008/9... if it won't run adobe software in full, i don't see many of us going for it in lieu of wacoms' offerings. how likely is an apple tablet to run OSX...? sigh...

if apple was a top 40 band, artists, musicians and coders were apple's 1st fan base, donating money in the figurative hat being passed around when it wasn't even hip to support them. i do hope they'll cater to us with this thing.

Still waiting for a changing of the guard from Ivy Bridge to Haswell on the new Mac Pro....

I agree. Something doesn't sound right. Even with Columbus day being Monday of that week (its only an observed holiday), a Friday event is typical.

Well, they have done Thursday events before (the iBooks education thing) so it's not unheard of.

What's odder is the Oct 14 date in the Yosemite GM candidate, complete with the 9:41 keynote time.

Oh man would it!

A retina imac coming out would be wick-wack-wicky-wickable-wack

The day when every screen you own is "retina" (essentially, so pixel dense you can't discern them) and these devices are reasonably priced (iMac, TVs, etc...) is the day when your eyes will never go back to a non-retina screen. The rMBP for me has already sealed the deal, I can barely use a non retina screen now without it looking fuzzy. On the mobile side of things, nearly everything has HD displays so that's a good thing.

A retina iMac would be nice... ...but how about letting us use the TouchID fingerprint scanner on the iPhone to log-in and to unlock websites and pay for stuff too. Alternatively, build the same TouchID thingamajig into the iMac keyboard and then make it do the stuff I asked for above.

Thanks Apple... :)

Let's just hope the ipad has 2GB of RAM. Just to give you an example, I've set 1password to ask for password only once a day, but because of the $hi&&y 1GB of RAM, the app gets dumped so I have to type my complex password every time. Annoying as hell. This doesn't happen on my HTC One.

I just bought a new iMac because InDesign CS6 doesn't work on retina displays, and until I'm absolutely forced to, I'm not going to Adobe's CC subscription service.

I too will wait for the next rev. This has all the makings of iPad 3 and 4 on it. They rushed out a compromised iPad 3 and then a fixed 4 six months later. Guess which one I bought?

Yeah, me too. I was so upset. Sigh. Thanks for reminding me of that. Thing is, I am getting impatient with my aging iMac. I want a solid state everything, fast machine with a beautiful display as soon as I can lay my hands on it. I must learn patience.

I'm hoping they drop the 32GB version and slide the 64GB down to that price point like the iPhone 6.

Hopefully the iPad 'Pro' will get a mention!

I personally doubt it, because...

Will there be an iPad Plus/Pro????

Plus? Maybe. Pro? No.

Airport express is too small for certified AC wireless. The antennas have to have a certain XYZ 3D spacing for the mimo functions to work. The current AirPort Extreme barely passes compared to commercial wifi units... And Apple don't do EXTERNAL antennae.

I didn't realize that. Interesting. But using a current gen Extreme with a current gen Express, would you get past the Express slowing it all down?

OOO!! OOO!! I KNOW!! I KNOW!!! The same one I got! The 3!

Where is this in the GM? (hurries off to see)

A couple of hours ago I was hoping we would get some kind of October event information, digits crossed this is the date. Earlier than the proposed 10/21 would be terrific.

Yes, please (include the Mac Mini too :apple:)

Ironically, now I need an iPad (it all works out. The rMini as good as it is, is not the iPad for me.)

Oh man this had better be true! I have a wad of cash sitting in my desk drawer that I have been setting aside for the day when the retina iMac is here. It undoubtedly will not be nearly enough, but I will pop for it as long as it is not ridiculously expensive.

Who am I kidding? I will buy it even if it is ridiculously expensive. :p

Order of importance:

1.) Mac Mini
2.) Mac Mini
3.) Apple TV
4.) See what the iPad Air 2 features
5.) Cost effective new iMac
