The color phone may make me change my mind about the soup sandwich aspect ratio of the iPhone. It looks less obvious in the colors, the matt in the middle and gloss on the end make the current iPhone look REALLY long. Maybe I will be getting a new iPhone in November.

Well they've done a pretty good job keeping this closed-lip! I love my Apple stuff but would looove a bigger screen also to match that iOS 7.

Has it occurred to you that the reason why there aren't any rumours about a larger-screen iPhone is that there simply isn't one?

Screen resolution, not size

(Sorry, I have not read all posts)

What bothers me is that Apple has decided to not use standard resolutions for their displays, regardless of the actual display size.

Display resolutions are not arbitrary, most content is designed to fit well known dimensions like 1280x720 or 1440x900 or 1600x1080 or Full HD and so forth.

I'd really like to see standard resolutions returning to the new iPhone lineup.

I'm pretty sure that both the iPhone 4 and 4S will be discontinued, because of the dock connector and the completely different manufacturing process.

The could introduce the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, leaving the original iPhone 5 as the compromise for backwards compatibility.

(The iPad could also adapt stanard resolutions. I don't think this would be a major issue).

cant wait to see apple's iphone become the king of the market once again.

Why? Do you own the company? It's hard for me to understand so much excitement. Especially for something that actually is just "a step beyond", not 3 stories, if you know what I mean.

Who needs a 12-Megapixal iPhone ?

In actual fact, a better question would be, "What be sound Outrageous for an iPhone ?"

Why yes that did occur to me. I was just saying I would love one. Perhaps you're inferring that all aspects/features of the upcoming phone has been already leaked or rumored. Otherwise any more than that just simply WILL NOT be true.

do you understand that India and china cannot afford the iPhone? apple is going to serve those markets. it's not for you.=

Makes no sense considering what Apple has historically stated is their goal of the iPhone. Not to sell more but make the best phone.

Now, I know thats the most BS comment ever, but, to an average Joe, it might mean the company is loosing focus.

Worse of all if Apple tries to appease everyone. We know how that turns out (when a company tries to appease everyone).

The Samsung Galaxy Note started a new category. SGN2 has sold 10s of millions and spawned many copies to date.

Samsung has the highest resolution displays in 13 inch laptop, highest dpi. Samsung makes the best and highest quality display so much so that Apple has gone back on their word and will once again use Samsung displays. Off the top of my head.

Merriam Webster is your friend. Look up the meaning of innovation. Bye.

It is beyond sad that this is what passes as innovation these days...

they probably can't make displays in that resolution with enough yield

i have a galaxy s3 and iphone 5, and the iphone display looks better. very easy to cheat in reported resolution with pentile display

Doesnt look like anything coming out that the other phones dont have asside from a fingerprint recognistion, ...which is a Ho-Hum feature.

If it is still a 4" screen with the skinny width, this will be nothing exciting at all to consider.

I understand why apple are bringing out a cheaper iPhone but hope that they ensure the 5S is worth the price difference. One of the things I love about apple is the built quality and thus are prepared to pay the extra.

prices?

my thought on unlocked price:

iPhone 5S- $650
iPhone 5- $550
iPhone 4C- $450

iPhone 4S may or may not be available at $450. I think they will not offer the 4S anymore.

I was hoping for $399 on the iPhone 4C but I just don't see it happening.

If this fresh new article is correct, Apples obsession with being thinner continues.

Their staunch refusal to design a new style continues.

They're still clinging onto a tiny display.

And my pick is the cheap, good looking, much more compelling iPhone 5C.

Who doesn't? Better cameras in smartphones are always welcome.

I don't care. The camera is already good enough.

Plus I'm going for the cheap plastic phone. Not because its cheap as money never holds me back. Instead I choose to buy something fresh & new. A phone that promises to be much more comfortable to use.
