I see a lot of "I'm leaving Apple" without suggesting alternatives: (Of which certain services would have to go)

Apple One Premier = $38 (We only use 2TB, Music and ATV+, in that order)

Possible Alternatives:
$27 Savings: 2TB $11+ Free Spotify $0 + Cancel ATV+ $0 = $11
$17 Savings: 2TB $11+ Free Spotify $0 + ATV+ $10 = $21
$10 Savings: 2TB $11+ Premium Spotify $17 + Cancel ATV+ $0 = $28

That's what I meant. It $1,800 additional costs over 50 years just from this single price increase. If they increase the price another $2 in a year from now, that is another $1,176 extra for those remaining 49 years.
I'm so tired of subscriptions. Our family budget is pretty granular so when I plug in numbers like this, plus the increase already from last year you can really visualize how this and other services/cost of living/gouging are affecting the family and make decisions to cut services entirely that much easier.

Wow. I just want Music, AppleTV+ and some iCloud space ... will have to revisit the Apple One pricing. I read maybe 1 magazine on News

Now I’m even more ticked off that I redeemed that free two months about a month too early and now have to pay $9.99 to finish the rest of for all mankind.

Oh well. Just means that I won’t resubscribe until the next time I have a free trial available.

And they will keep doing that while people are still paying.
More people need to simply cancel to stop these companies from doing this.
I already cancelled them and Netflix and HBO Max. Happy to have extra 50 bucks in my pocket every month.
I’m saving 600 dollars a year just by cancelling.
Not bad.

WHAT. THE. F🤬K.

$10 for Apple TV+?!?!?! Monarch better be an HBO GOD TIER show… They have BY FAR the smallest amount of offerings of any service.

TWELVE DOLLARS FOR NEWS LOLOLOL. Are you kidding me????

They have the audacity to even price any of these services above $7 per month?

And $37 for One Premium???? WTFFFFF.
This the same as I say for D+. These prices are approaching what all of Prime costs, and you get Original and other movies and the other Prime Perks.

And more % need to cancel than the price increase or they sill make more money from less people

Yeah I have yet to meet a person who actually subs to News+ outside of being in their Apple One sub.
I do. I use it daily, unlike TV+, which I watch so infrequently that I won't miss it when that subscription expires.

But $12.99/month is steep for News+, so I won't be renewing that unless Costco has another promo.

In all price hike scenarios, there is a concept called price acceptance and another called price rejection. Consumers reward the price hike with acceptance and punish with rejection. The voting mechanism is measured in dollars. Vote!

And key here: action speaks louder than words. Seller can't measure whine... but they'll notice cancellations... if the masses opt to reject price hikes.

Bonus: the fastest way to tame inflation is this SAME way: stop paying ever-increasing prices. If the masses do too, inflation will very quickly halt... and prices will start working their way back DOWN to levels where the masses opt to again part with their hard-earned money. If people roll over and "just pay" any price, "any" will simply rise and rise and rise again.
Gerald Ford called and he wants his failed anti-inflation strategy back. WIN!

Yarr, back to sailing the high seas we go.
Been using a Superbox S3 Pro + VPN for awhile now and haven't looked back. I have uYou+ and Kodi + Seren add-on on my 15PM that I sideloaded using my dev account, well worth the cost of maintaining the account. These companies can suck one. Yarr mate, indeed.

So when ATV went up last year before the strikes, what was that?

Last year's increase before the strikes was the first in three years and came out to an average of 12% per year and presumably a reflection of much more content on TV+ compared to launch, as well as things like inflation factors.

By comparison, this year's post-strikes increase is 43% in one year. 43% is significantly higher than 12%. Based on that, how could someone not conclude that the writer and actor strikes likely played a role?

I used to own my music in iTunes and loved how it curated it all, it felt like I owned albums.

I thought I would never leave iTunes.

The move to streaming, Apple Music, and the way the app is a bit wonky on most systems, means that’s changed.

It’s now a case of is it worth paying Apple or Spotify.

It’s be pretty easy to rebuild my music collection and various programs can do it for you.

Apple Arcade is worthless.

And Apple TV is not worth any more than they’re currently charging.

AppleTV+ used to be at a price where I’d keep it even if there wasn’t anything I was currently watching, but with this increase I’m going to switch to only subscribing for maybe a month a year when there’s a few shows accumulated that I really want to see.

Same as I would expect from the CEO of any corporation: maximizing profits and shareholder returns. It's literally their job. Corporations are not our "friends". Their interests may align with ours, but if you think any company isn't doing it for the money, you're deluded.
There is a difference between seeking sustainable profits (which I agree with) and destroying the company/brand for unreasonable profits (which I don't agree with). Cook trends towards to latter simply because he does not fundamentally understand technology and its branding.
