WHAT. THE. F🤬K.

$10 for Apple TV+?!?!?! Monarch better be an HBO GOD TIER show… They have BY FAR the smallest amount of offerings of any service.

TWELVE DOLLARS FOR NEWS LOLOLOL. Are you kidding me????

They have the audacity to even price any of these services above $7 per month?

And $37 for One Premium???? WTFFFFF.

I just changed my ATV from monthly to yearly for $69 so I wonder when these new prices go in effect.

For me, AppleTV+ is worth the increase. Some of the best programming in streaming. Only other services I subscribe to are Apple Music, which I don't use all that often and the iCloud backup at 200GB. I probably don't truly need 200GB but it's cheap enough. My ATV+ and Music subs just renewed in July and as I pay yearly, I hope there aren't any surcharge on those until my renewal comes up next year.

Hmm... I may be getting out of my Apple One subscription, in this case. Sad.

Just depends on which services you want to keep. Just did a check in our family's plan. We mainly only use Apple Music and iCloud+ 2TB, but those two individually are $26.98/month on their own. Add in Fitness+, which we use occasionally, and it goes to $36.97/month. And now we're back to square one.

I was initially inclined to drop the bundle as well, but for our use case that might be a little penny wise, pound foolish. Everyone's mileage will obviously vary on that.

Apple is increasing the prices of some of its subscription-based services, including Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+, in the U.S. and many other countries around the world. The higher prices are shown on Apple's website.

Apple-One-Apps-Feature-2.jpg

The price changes in the U.S. are as follows:
  • Apple TV+: $6.99 per month → $9.99 per month
  • Apple Arcade: $4.99 per month → $6.99 per month
  • Apple News+: $9.99 per month → $12.99 per month
For those who subscribe to Apple TV+ on an annual basis, the price has increased from $69 per year to $99 per year accordingly.

Apple One bundle prices are also increasing as a result:
  • Individual: $16.95 per month → $19.95 per month
  • Family: $22.95 per month → $25.95 per month
  • Premier: $32.95 per month → $37.95 per month
In the U.S., these are the first-ever price increases for Apple Arcade and Apple News+ since the services launched in November 2019, while Apple TV+ last saw a price increase in October 2022. Apple should send out emails notifying subscribers of the price changes over time.

There are no price increases for Apple Music and Apple Fitness+ today.

Seems like Apple is jumping on the bandwagon of raising subscriptions prices due to greed...it's hard to see how the cost of providing these services has increased that much. I was okay with last year's price increase, but this is too much. Constant price increases that provide me with no additional benefits are getting really old.

Well, the price of EVERYTHING is going up. I feel like I got mugged when I go "retail" grocery shopping for things I can't justify getting from the price club. But from what I hear, there is no inflation. Inflation is transitory. Anyway.

I never subbed to Apple News. I really don't need to pay someone else to be pointing me in the direction they want for news. I can kinda figure that out on my own.

I have Apple Arcade and Music through my VZW subscription. This is also how I get Hulu and Disney+. We never watch Disney+ because, well. It sucks. Once I saw all the Marvel movies I missed when I was busy with other things, I never logged into it again. Hulu is unwatchable on my Fire Stick because the sound cuts out after commercials and no one at Hulu can figure that nonsense out.

Arcade is a MEH experience. I played a few games when I had serious time to kill with little to no connectivity. It's not something I would pay "real" money for, let alone shoulder a price increase to keep.

Apple TV has one show I watch. It's not on right now, so I don't sub it. When that show comes on I subscribe, watch, and then drop it.

The one thing I do use every day is Apple Music. I would howl like a yak in heat if they raised the price substantially, but I wouldn't drop it. Next to internet service at home and my cell phone, it's probably the one thing I wouldn't drop.

I did without SiriusXM for a while when was ill and money was so tight George Washington was bitching about me squeezing his green picture in my pocket every time I spent a buck, but I turned that back on.

The price of everything is going up, and people are eventually going to have to choose between services and for some providers, that's gonna get ugly. Like cancel cable ugly.

Holy moly. That's a big increase. It's getting harder to justify Apple One even though I use all of the services (yes, even News) on a regular, almost constant basis. Yikes.

If everyone will cancel their subscription - Apple will never raise their prices again

I say let's teach them all a lesson in greediness

It’s trickle down from the writers strike and if the actors get their way it will go up again. They want 1 dollar fee for every show on any streaming platform.

Just cancelled my Apple One Premier Family. We're moving just to Apple Music and iCloud+ Storage now. Yeah it's $11 per month less than the new premier prices, but the other services were "nice to have" at the $5 extra. Now, nope.

So who's more evil, Apple increasing prices 43 percent or Netflix increasing prices between 0 percent (Standard with ads and Standard plans) and 20 percent (Basic plan)? The Premium plan went up 15 percent.

Have people cancelled their Apple TV+ sub for this like they did when Netflix raised their prices a week ago? Asking for a friend.

Thankfully I get Apple TV+ through T-Mobile
I think that was just a 12 month deal....(I have it too) which I think said it would just bill monthly to your T-mobile bill after the year. I will cancel that too as soon as my year is up.

EDIT: Just checked and I have a reminder on my calendar that my year is up on 12/12.

Looks like it might make sense to add an Apple one subscription to my verzon plan for $10 /mo. which includes Apple TV+ subscription since its the same cost as a standalone Apple TV+ subscription but includes Arcade, News, and Apple Music.

TV+ already sucked and now it sucks even harder at the much higher price. The content quality isn't there to justify a 43% price hike. It's a bunch of unwatchable junk. I've got a free subscription to TV+ right now and I'm not watching it at all.

News+ is just as bad. It has many different contributing news outlets but they all say the same thing and have the same editorial view. There's no value in that. You can just look at any big news vendor's website and get all the same info for free.
