Same. It is awesome, watching Ted Lasso and several times I could swear the Pros were not working and the sound was coming from my iPad Pro. Really immersive experience.
So, I don’t have Pros, just AirPod Norms. 😄 Sounds kids like that would be annoying, though. seems like many people are reporting the same ‘thought sound was coming from (device)’ phenomenon.

Not working with Plex / Infuse 5.1/7.1 content.

Was hoping it would work OOTB...

Works with Plex, but you have to go to the Playback settings and select AC3 instead of AAC. Apparently you must do this each time as Plex used the first audio found.

I have a Apple 8 Plus with iOS 14 Beta 8 and the new Airpod Pro Firmware released today. Does anybody have any links I could test this? I keep getting "this content does not support spatial audio"

Thanks!

Hey Harrycooke,

Yeah, having the same issue with mine iPad Pro 10.5" - Settings show update firmware but not getting the Spatial Audio button in Control Center. It showed up on my iPhone XS.

Me too... disappointed to read: "On iPad, spatial audio works with the iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (3rd generation) and later, the ‌iPad Pro‌ 11‑inch, the iPad Air (3rd generation), the ‌iPad‌ (6th generation) and later, and the ‌iPad‌ mini (5th generation)."

Different issue here. ipHone Pro Max 11 with latest iOS 14 beta. AirPod Pros are updated to 3A283. In control center I can select spatial auto, but when I toggle the switch to off and then back on, it always states the program is not encoded for spatial audio. This happens on Dolby Atmos films, trailer on Apple TV+, etc. I suspect those posting they are not impressed are experiencing the same issue.

After resetting, waiting 20 minutes. Nothing happened. I tried with both iPhone and airpods plugged in on my iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 14 beta 8.

I have grown into despair as I read everyone’s comments about successfully receiving the firmware update and experience another apple miracle while I sit in solitude. This has begun to stress me out throughout the day and I cannot alleviate any focus on anything other than updating this firmware. It has driven me nuts to the point I’m screaming in my house and my neighbors knocked on my door to check if I was okay.

The fact that nobody here is empathic to my cause speaks volumes about the community.

Does anyone use AirPods 2 update successfully?

Mine just updated a few minutes ago. AirPods were charging and case closed with iPhone sitting next to it for about 15 minutes.

I’m INCREDIBLY impressed with how quick the auto switching is. I expected to be waiting 1-3 seconds like when switching manually, but it switches devices instantly once audio starts playing.

I’ve been unable to get my AirPods 2 to update. All suggestions mentioned from others have not worked for me. Just wondering, are you running the beta on multiple devices that you see switching working so well?
