Ugh.. was hoping for the design change. Sporting a Series 4 SS SB and it's working perfectly. I usually do a 1 hour or more workout daily and never run out of battery at the end of the day.
Would love always on & sleep tracking but not enough to upgrade. Will wait until I can see one in person and them decide.

Honestly I was excited for a design change for the S7 to upgrade my S4 but I guess I will be waiting another year!
It is a very nice looking watch with the larger display though. The wrap over effect looked fantastic at the event so it will be interesting to see how it looks in person. I think it still justifies upgrading from my Series 4 as I want to have an always on display, get it in stainless steel for a change and for cellular aa my current model doesn’t have that.

I am really struggling this year. My go to band has been the stainless steel mesh, but I am not a fan of the weight of the stainless steel case or the fact that it scratches really easily and I have to polish it. So I like to save money and get the aluminum silver which looks nice with the SS band. But the silver (moonlight) is a yellowish color this year and I am afraid it is going to seriously clash with the SS mesh. I kind of like the look of the titanium but I struggle with spending that much on aestetics only - its double the price. Honestly, I am thinking about the blue aluminum. It might give a nice 2 tone effect with the band.

I didn’t say it wasn’t nice, the larger display looks awesome but overall it’s just not enough to make me buy it , plus my S4 works perfectly still.

Not a fan of aluminum but I'm really digging that Green Aluminum watch.
Yeah same. And I’ve never been a fan of green but I’m drawn to it for some reason.

I’ve gotten stainless steel watches for so long, but I think I’ll get aluminum this time. I want to switch it up, it’s a lot lighter on the wrist too. I have a stainless steel series 5, I’ll keep both in the rotation.

I'm planning to buy one, probably a graphite SS. I never liked SBSS, but I've grown a bit tired of my S4 silver SS. I'm also somewhat interested in the charcoal aluminum (moonlight or whatever they are calling it these days). I've never owned an aluminum Apple Watch before.

Just be sure the scratches screens don’t bother you, as the odds of aluminum ones scratching are much higher.

but my mother has my old S3 and wants to upgrade because she wants a water-resistant one.
Just repeating what Howyalikdemapls said earlier -- S3 AW is definitely water resistant. I'm stilling wearing mine and it's still getting wet. It's been swimming more times than I can remember.

Now that series 7 is the same as series 6, I guess I’ll wait another year.
My S3 is getting somewhat slow, so I was really looking forward to the upgrade this year, but I feel like Apple has slacked off somewhat. I'm now debating what to do.

Dated chip. Worse battery life. Best to wait and ignore this one.
Apparently it has the same all day battery life. Why do you think the battery will be worse?

But same chip and same battery is somewhat disappointing. Maybe the bigger and brighter display eats up any new tweaks to energy savings they've made???

I had the SBSS gen 1 and that didnt scratch at all.
My SB SS AW3 hasn't scratched at all from what I can see. Sure I haven't put it under a microscope, but from just wearing it, you can't see anything. It's had a heap of knocks over the past 3.5 years and still looks brand new.

The move from SB (a very beloved color) to Graphite was nothing more than a money saving scheme by Apple.
Not sure if you got facts to back that up, but I wouldn't put it past Apple to do that!
SB SS is a pretty amazing color. The black has a real depth to it.

For those worried about Starlight, here’s how it looks in the real world;

Not sure this year. Haven’t had to repeat a shade before.

The only one I’ve not had beyond the 2 week return period was the Black Ti.

Favourite watches were the SB S0, Grey ceramic S3 and S5 Ti

Alu is a no good because of the glass

I guess Silver Ti which ill use with the abyss blue braided loop

So the Alu has a weaker face then the Ti !?

alu S4 has a couple scatches on the glass

I think he is referring to the scratch resistance of them. The aluminum watches have gorilla glass basically and the steel/titanium have sapphire glass, which is much more scratch resistant.

There's a couple videos out explaining why the series 7 ended up what it is..
Apple had critical production problems with the redesign so it had to be canceled. The renders by John Prosser were correct.
Apple threw together a new series 7.
After seeing the leaks and renders I wanted to get my wife a 7 to replace her 6 but no thanks.

Oh I definitely don’t have any facts to back that up but does sound like something they would do and make it elegant. All I’m asking is for someone to change my mind lol.

In a lot of minds what to get.

My history is:

SS42 S0
SS42 S2
SBSS42 S3
AL Nike 44 S4
SSG44 S5

So what to do now. I haven't had SS Silver since S2 and kind of miss it - I have Milanese bands for the Silver, black and gold, but the the black and gold aren't the current colours so if I go graphite or 'new' gold I need a new Milanese.

Very tempted with graphite, but everytime I see a silver SS I miss it so maybe that is the way. I will probably keep the S5 SSG so it is a toss up between Silver or graphite SS. However, I had in my mind spent the £750 already and my daughter then gives me £800 in apple vouchers for my birthday (guilt thing lol as she is in the US and we are in the UK and she hasn't been home for 3 years), so do I put my fictional £750 and her £800 towards a Hermes?

Oh, 1st world problems... :)

Not at all. There was a video giving an opinion on why the S7 is delayed. No one knows if it was supposed to have a square edge, nor a double sided SIP. These were all rumours and they were wrong.

I am torn this year. I have space black steel series 5 and I would have bought a standard space black Series 7 if there was one. I don't want to pay the Hermes premium just to get Black SS.

I also don't want the Graphite steel as, as far as I can determine, it's not DLC it's PVD. The Apple spec page mentions DLC on the black titanium, but not on the Graphite steel. https://support.apple.com/kb/SP826?locale=en_GB

So, it looks like my only option is the Black titanium. I suppose I'll just have to make sure I don't dig any rocky trenches with it like the person earlier in this thread.
