I am torn this year. I have space black steel series 5 and I would have bought a standard space black Series 7 if there was one. I don't want to pay the Hermes premium just to get Black SS.

I also don't want the Graphite steel as, as far as I can determine, it's not DLC it's PVD. The Apple spec page mentions DLC on the black titanium, but not on the Graphite steel. https://support.apple.com/kb/SP826?locale=en_GB

So, it looks like my only option is the Black titanium. I suppose I'll just have to make sure I don't dig any rocky trenches with it like the person earlier in this thread.

Yeah it's a shame they don't use the DLC on the graphite model, that would look incredible if it had the shiny finish of the older black SS. I'm not a huge fan of the black titanium because it's got the dull finish. The black SS was my favorite, but with its absence I'll default back to chrome, er umm I mean SS.

Edit: Just realized the graphite is shiny, hmm I might consider this over the SS. I will have to see what people are reporting on scratches with the graphite vs the silver SS. I can't find any definitive answer if the graphite is DLC or not, very weird.

I've seen enough posts from people who say their graphite SS has sustained noticeable scratches easily to shy away from it. At least the plain steel is an option because you can buff scratches out. I wasn't wild about the duller finish of the black titanium but Ive watched a few videos and I'm warming to it. The durability is my most important criterion.

Not at all. There was a video giving an opinion on why the S7 is delayed. No one knows if it was supposed to have a square edge, nor a double sided SIP. These were all rumours and they were wrong.
Yeah I don't know either way.
The way the video plays out its a possibility.

I'm replacing my S3 with the S7. The feature upgrades were technically enough for me by S4, but I'm not the sort of person that upgrades once a year.

I'll decide on which one once I've seen them in store...

I'll be buying my first AW (ever). Until now, the bezels were too large with respect to the screen size. That having said, I love the fact that rumours regarding the flat edged design turned out to be untrue.
I've read that buying the Nike version gives some extra watch faces and bands to choose from, but costs the same. Is this true? Are there no differences between the two types of watches? Thanks.

Edit: space grey for me.

The nike versions do come with a couple of extra faces but nothing special. I don't think the aluminium models come in space grey this year :(

Sad that the Space Black SS didn't make a comeback. I still have my S2 of this and may well keep it going for another year.

I will get the natural titanium. Had the natural titanium for my AW 5, got the black titanium (I forgot what they call it) for the AW 6 and don‘t like it at all. So it will be back to natural titanium. Would have preferred a ceramic version, though.

What’s wrong with the SB Titanium?

For those wondering I briefly owned the graphite SS series 6 last year before returning it and keeping my series 5 gold (the best gold version color IMO)

and it managed to get scratched in the time that i owned it, very faint hairline type scratch on the body, possibly just from switching bands. Especially if you rub the Milanese band against the body.

I didn’t mind it too much though, my series 5 gold after a couple years has faint scratches on the body that you can see in certain lights only, but the crystal is basically like new.

Technically nothing, I just don‘t like it aesthetically. I thought, I would like it more, but over a year of wearing it, it has gotten worse. The natural titanium looks way better in my opinion.

I will skip AW7. Not excited about it. I was really looking forward to angled case like iPhone 12.
Comparing the few specs we have on AW7 vs. AW6, I can't see why anyone would go for AW7 especially considering the discounts AW6 will see post AW7 launch.

Then again, I can't help but feel that the AW7 internals aren't even finalised as Apple has left out a ton of info on it as of now.

So maybe we'll change our mind when Apple gets around to actually letting us see it?

I have the S6 in space gray but I like the "more screen" of the S7, I'm just a bit disappointed with the colors... I can't understand what color is midnight, blue or black?

Is this the midnight blue or the stainless steel gray?

And this should be the midnight color?

This image is not clearly understandable to me

I can tell you that I’ve had my graphite for nearly a year and it is absolutely mint. I’ve bashed it a few times but there is absolutely no damage on it whatsoever.
I agree about the SSSB. That was my favourite watch as it was indestructible but when they didn’t offer it as an option last year I went for the graphite and I’ve had no regrets as it looks good because it has a shimmer and changes colour in the light and as I said I’ve had no issues with scratches even when changing bands. The only thing I would say is to avoid Milanese as that’s a watch killer

I'll keep my SB Ti Watch 6. I don't consider the 7 to be an upgrade from the Watch 6 especially if only changes made was just a tad bigger screen. Other than that, my SB Ti is still working fine.

I am going from S6C SS SB (multiple bands from ML to BL) to S7C Ti SB Leather Link.
Unfortunately, my (hypothetical) message to Tim Cook did not get through as I would have tried to convince him it would be good marketing for me to be wearing a S7 in Rome two weeks from now when I have a small group meeting of global faith leaders with Pope Francis!😎

I have a series 3 SS black that I have completely thrashed and abused, I've done construction with it, outdoor workouts, you name it. It is still completely pristine and not a day goes by that I'm not impressed with its durability. The graphite color looks amazing, but I would really love to have a definitive answer if it indeed does have the DLC coating. I've scoured the internet and there are no answers. When the graphite first came out Apple listed it as having the DLC, but soon after they stopped putting DLC for it in the specs, and in the general AW specs currently it only lists the black Ti as having DLC, so I have to assume the graphite doesn't have the DLC. It's probably still extremely durable, but I'm looking for that indestructible durability the DLC gives.

I’m pretty sure it has the PVD coating much the same as the gold but like you I have struggled for a definitive answer

I’m not prone to conspiracy theories but this theory really makes sense to me. Given that every “typically” credible leaker….leaked the new squared off design of the series 7, what happened? Some good points made in this video speak to what might have happened….and that the series 7 (that was announced) is actually a pieced together ”last minute” Frankenstein of an Apple Watch. Interesting:
