Except city dwellers need and want more battery life too! Agreed about all the other features though, with the “ultra.“

It reminds me of paying the large costs of a larger screen MacBook, just because I need a larger screen, but not all the other power and fancy stuff in it.

I couldn't believe that Apple is only going to give me 155.00 for my S7 SS! Might just try to sell the damn thing.

So trade in elsewhere or sell to a private individual.

Apple trade in passes to a wholesaler so of course its gonna be a low payout. Be glad its even an option, though that convenience will cost you.

You’re the one calling Apple’s trade-in values pathetic, indicating a lack of understanding of how the system works. 🤷‍♂️

The values are predictably low, as youd expect given multiple middlemen and that you needn't include the band or charging puck.

Lots of options to sell or trade for more than Apple offers, for those not minding a little more effort.

Their trade in values for the watches aren't pathetic? They absolutely are. At least with phones they are somewhat competitive.

I don't think there is anyone on the planet who doesn't know you can sell your items privately. So you aren't providing anything anyone doesn't already know. The person I was responding to was surprised at how low Apple was offering for his watch, which is what I was agreeing an commenting on. You are just saying stuff to say stuff that is obvious to everyone.
 
I have a quick question: does the new SE supports fast charging? I thought it won’t but 9to5mac published an article saying it’s supporting.

Can anyone confirm that? Would be then also a great deal without AOD, spo2, ECG
 
Thinking about a Series 7 from the Apple Refurbished Store instead of the Series 8. Does anyone know if watches from the refurbished store still get the 3 free months of Fitness+? Can't seem to find confirmation anywhere, and the Apple Store online chat person doesn't to know either.
 
I am kind of disappointed in the Apple Watch and ever year I think "this update was so minor that next year must be huge" and perhaps next year WILL be huge...but I think I'm finally upgrade my launch-day Series 4. A YOY upgrade hasn't been worth it since the always on display, but the improvements really build if you wait. Compared to the Series 4 the Series 8 has:

  • 20% larger display
  • 20% faster SoC
  • Always on display
  • Blood oxygen sensor
  • Fast charging
  • "3rd generation" heart monitor and the sensors.
  • 32GB of storage (vs 16GB)

Rhetorical question, you’ve already shown the answer.

Not everyone thinks to check other wholesalers or sell privately. What's obvious to you isn't obvious to everyone.

Perhaps you might focus on offering helpful comments to the forum such as directing folks to places like Swappa or MacMeAnOffer.

+1, a really nice upgrade from the AW4 to the AW8!! And, a really nice upgrade to an AW7…if you can find one at a significant discount.

Man, I buy the 16 inch MacBook Pro when all I wanted and needed was a 16 inch MacBook Air.

So a mistake by 9to5 I think.

Ordered a S7 but my S8 is already preparing to ship so I can’t cancel it anymore. Now I don’t know what to do. 300€ difference but I ordered it with the new braided solo loop which would cost 100€. So not that big difference..
