Surely not?? How accurate can that be? I mean if i left my house and ran 3km (round trip) tracking south, and did the same again tracking north how would it know which way i went? Particularly if you turn around on each example and ran home the same way
Uh uh...you don't get off that easily: please specify which features you believe are not working.

I suspect the magic is a combination of the accelerometer plus fairly complex algorithms for filtering out arm motion during the run. Add to that a known start and end position and maps with accurate roadways depicted and it should be able to make some pretty accurate guesses as to where you were (much like a vehicle nav system is still able to follow your route even if GPS is unavailable). A good test will be from users who run cross country as opposed to on well mapped roads.

Hmm the most obvious answer to me is wifi mapping. Anyone notice how your MacBook knows your location despite it having gps. Why couldn't the watch be doing the same thing? The watch could download the wifi DB of the general area around you when it has phone connectivity. Otherwise if it truly is all by gyro and accelerometer then that's amazing!!!

Well I've been syncing a 30 song playlist for four hours and it's at 44%. And this is not the first time that happens to me. And yes, I did unpair the watch, paired it again, powered off the iPhone and watch, ...

One of the main reason I bought the watch was to use it during workouts with Bluetooth headphones, not having to bring my iPhone to the gym or a run. The other thing I find unacceptable is the fact that you can only sync one playlist. By watch oS 3, I was sure this would have been improve. I guess it's not a priority for Apple but Minnie Mouse was.

I tried syncing a small playlist and gave up after about 30 minutes with 5% - however, I was able to sync a 2Gig playlist on 2.2.2 in about an hour. This seems like a bug to OS3 beta 1

One thing I have noticed with the Dock and apps, the only ones that seem to always work flawlessly and instant or close to instant are Apple apps. Carrot always seemed to work but later in the day, it had a delay loading like I saw with Dark Sky. TheScore is terrible and doesn't update game scores even with push events have a score change. My bank app always had to refresh while the older 2.2.2 seemed up to date all the time when in the glance.

When the apps in the dock work, they are very fast and make the apple watch appear to have a faster processor when it doesn't. Battery life once I loaded my dock with Apple Apps is equal to previous OS versions. Worse issue I have seen is the delay when using the activity watch face - doesn't have a delay with modular even fully loaded with complications.

Overall, this is a very good and stable Beta 1 and far superior to Beta 1 of iOS10 which has lots of issues and quirks. The only plus with iOS10 is that the phone remains functional but some apps don't work at all or you can't close or pick sub-menus.

Looking forward to developers updating their apps and complications as that appears to be something they now have more flexibility to do according to feedback from WWDC. I fully expect issues and accept the risk but I haven't used my orginal apple watch since I upgraded as it is that stable.

No it's not. It's a bug since OS1.
Not sure - never had a problem syncing before so I can't comment that it is a bug since it always worked. :)

It's a hit and miss kind of thing, so it's a bug!

On the Simple watch face, can the Date complication (closest to the middle) be changed to Day-Date like the Utility watch face (e.g. "Sat 18")?

Or even better — can that Date complication be set to any third-party complication?

No to both. It's either the day number or off.

Anyone on here willing to try out the activity sharing feature with me?
I'd be willing to. Sebbonnot@gmail.com
[doublepost=1466372110][/doublepost]Went on a run with my watch only (left the phone at home). When I got back home and my watched synced with my phone, the acitivitt app on my phone showed a thumbnail of the route I ran. Is this new? And how did it track my run without the GPS from my phone? Clicking the thumbnail of the map does nothing

This was discussed earlier in the thread. It's new in watchOS 3. not sure how it's tracking the route.

is there a Now Playing complication?
Yep. It's default iirc

Edit: oops. You said complication and I was thinking dock item. Doesn't seem to be a now playing complication, no, just a music one.

When the brand new Music Complication is placed in any of the larger Complications spaces it will display what is currently playing (tapping on it will also take you to now playing/music app)

*edit to add a screenshot*
Modular and middle spot was the only place I found it shows song, artist, album. Other spots in various faces only show track name, some other faces only showed a circular timeline bar for the song time.

Oh man the route tracking is super exciting! I so wish I could install the beta on my watch without having to install the beta on my phone!

Probably because you haven't changed this and assuming you are on watchOS3... You change this on the watch app under workout.

Even when fiddling with those settings I still can't get mine to look like the screenshot... How can you get it to display the time on the top right and also the blue ring on the top left?

I've noticed that when I put the watch into Nightstand mode, it initially displays the last time the watch was taken out of Nightstand mode. After a short while (probably when the minute changes) the time will correct itself.

I've also noticed that sometimes the time displayed in Nightstand mode has a 1 minute difference from time displayed in normal mode.

I have videos showing both bugs which I will submit to Apple.

After you complete a workout, is there a heart rate graph on the watch or on the iPhone in the Activity app?

In the new Apple Health App are the graphs/charts any better? Any changes? The main screen looks better but that is the only screen I have seen on iOS 10 for this app.

My rodent doesn't talk at all (neither, will the wife). Maybe he's just not interested! :p

In order to get mine to talk, I removed the existing Mickey watch face from the watch and added it back from the Face Gallery on the Watch app. Then he started talking to me.
