It seems to Apple’s design team now ‘Pro’ just means bigger screen and an unsightly bulge or notch somewhere.
Oh - seems I missed an Apple release last year …After that big bulbous thing they put out last year I didn't think they could make it look worse but it looks like they've managed it!
I love my Garmin too but it’s no Apple Watch. I put it away as soon as I complete my run or hike. I have a garmin edge for my bike so there is that. Once again Apple isn’t interested in this niche sports.I lived with my Seiko automatic for more than 15 years before switching to an Apple Watch 5, primarily for health tracking, and because it was an easy add-on to my all-Apple device life (and work). It was a tremendous help in following my improvements in health, but that also made me want more out of a wrist-worn device, including getting back to something that better fit me visually.
I won’t be buying the Watch Pro as I’m completely happy with my Garmin Epix and its masculine form, toughness including 300’ water resistance, titanium cover and sapphire lens, as well as its 16 day battery life and great OLED screen. Not having cellular connectivity is the only negative and I’m ok with giving that up for all the other things it does offer.
Tell me a better looking watch?Gross. 🤮 And am I the only one thinking of how hard it will be to always clean crud out of those deep grooves on the Digital Crown? No way this is the design Apple gives us.
Exactly. Hate all you want. Get in line behind me to pay $1000 for an Apple Watch. Who is laughing now? Oh wait. A grand for an Apple Watch?Eight years ago I found the "iWatch" leaks so ugly because I like circular cylindrical watches. I bought the model 2 and 6 anyway. 🤷♂️ I strongly believe that the reality distortion field is not in the juice but in the logo. 😁

Purported Schematics and Details on iWatch Show Rectangular Body, Round Sensor Plate
With just one day to go until Apple's media event where it is expected to show off not only the iPhone 6 but also its much-rumored...www.macrumors.com
Both the side profile of the crown area and the watch itself look like this LOL
Yeah cus we’re locked into ecosystem and enjoy the OS… iPhones definitely aren’t the prettiest anymore. I mean when they first posted rumors of the modern day camera blob everyone made fun of it and now we all just accept it. Samsungs long one doesn’t look as tacky. Apples made many poor design decisions over what years. And with other projects they just kept the same design for a decade or moreYou win most absurd internet comment today. Apple's "ugly decisions" continue to keep Apple the most successful tech creator ever - - by a lot.
Big bulbous thing? Apple watches are pretty average size and minimalistic… I’ve never owned a non smart watch smaller than my Apple Watch… maybe women have smaller watches but not menAfter that big bulbous thing they put out last year I didn't think they could make it look worse but it looks like they've managed it!
I’m no triathlete but I second this. The main issue I tend to have with Apple products is not the products themselves. They “just work” but sometimes they “only work” with Apple’s software. I blame the other manufacturers and companies equally. As a triathlete I hope that this new Apple Watch plays well with other platforms, like Training Peaks. The main reason I have a Garmin is so that my coach can send me workouts and then track detailed results. Currently that's not possible on an Apple Watch.
If Apple is serious about targeting athletes it needs to get the software right, not the hardware.
The first Apple Watch I bought was close to $1000, a stainless steel one, and $1000 meant a lot more to me back then. I can't remember if it was the first version released or not, but cheap it wasn't.Exactly. Hate all you want. Get in line behind me to pay $1000 for an Apple Watch. Who is laughing now? Oh wait. A grand for an Apple Watch?

I think the price will be a big determining factor. Most Apple consumers will be reluctant to pay the same price for an Apple Watch that they would pay for an iPhone. I think eventually the design/features will trickle down to a lower priced Apple Watch and Apple will quietly discontinue it.I have a feeling this alleged Pro watch is either going to turn out to be a big hit or a massive failure.
IwkCall me when they reduce the thickness by half. Otherwise, not interested in wearing that monstrosity on my wrist.
Someone get this guy a job at Apple pronto! The thing is, the vast majority of people don't have massive wrists. Although having said that, I have seen plenty of people who wear expensive watches and it looks so ridiculous on their wrists it's embarrassing. A watch should fit a wrist depending on size and the reason they are made in different sizes.
A massive watch on a small wrist - No no
A small watch on a massive wrist - No no
A correct size watch for the size of your wrist - Yes yes...classic.
Same goes for the watch strap. Make sure it's wide/narrow enough for the wrist in question.
At this point I'm thinking it's some major battery and maybe sat communication for "multi day hiking trips with just your watch" but maybe under screen camera will be in there too and that's why they needed even more bulge and flat surface? This thing is big, expensive and by conscensus ugly...... there's got to be a killer feature to justify all that
I mean yeah if you're going to manipulate the image, you can try and make any ridiculous exaggeration of a comparison.View attachment 2051510
Certainly a bit of Bixby speaker going on in the design here, bit of a lumpy thing

Yeah maybe he wouldn't have but he also ok'd the butterfly keyboard so he wasn't perfect.Agreed with many others, not a fan of what I'm seeing, but I'll reserve judgment until they show the final product.
As cliche as it is to gossip about here, I think the times may be a changin'. I don't think Jony would've okayed this.
