Apples sense of design went to **** as soon as they decided it was acceptable to put a big plastic bean on the back of an iPod for its wireless antenna and they’ve been making ugly decisions ever since
Nah, it was after Ive's departure. He was obsessed with making things thin but he knew how to make beautiful designs. Apple look clueless ever since he's gone, going back to older designs and making up ****s like this

I’ve seen posts calling for the return of Jony Ive, or at least his philosophy but I can tell you his philosophy of “Form ignores Function“ wouldn’t be a good thing. Laptops with cooling problems because they didn’t even have fans, just so they could be a millimeter thinner than the last model, phones that ran out of battery life because they were thinner than competitor brands so the batteries were also thinner, and phone screens that failed because the phone‘s frames flexed too much and quit working. His designs might win awards for looks but they cost a lot of life and performance in exchange. There may come a day when Apple should hire Ive or someone like him, but today is not that day.

At least I have the ports and MagSafe back on my MBP. Jony knew how to make things beautiful but his obsession with making things thin and minimalist was beginning to ruin apple products for me.

if it can fit my scrawny asian wrist without looking like a dinosaur i'll get it...the term apple trifecta (iphone pro, ipad pro, apple watch pro) is seriously a real thing now

Looks like dookie

This cad of the possible Watch Pro looks like someone took the current rounded edge design and placed a flat top screen on it. It’s an awful look from the side, imho. It doesn’t have any of the typical visual cues that a performance sport watch has and instead looks frumpy and poorly conceived. I’ve got no issues with additional buttons being used on the Watch, but this thing just looks horrid.

Not sure how they are going to be able to market it as stronger and more durable without a bezel that goes over that FLAT screen. Talk about a scratch and crack waiting to happen!

As a triathlete I hope that this new Apple Watch plays well with other platforms, like Training Peaks. The main reason I have a Garmin is so that my coach can send me workouts and then track detailed results. Currently that's not possible on an Apple Watch.

If Apple is serious about targeting athletes it needs to get the software right, not the hardware.
How do you know you’re speaking to a triathlete? They’ll tell you they have a coach lol

But seriously training peaks one thing but the Apple Watch doesn’t play nice with ant+ which is far more reliable than Bluetooth.

Apple has a ways to go for sports and it ain’t just training peaks.

Not sure I like that crown/button bulge, as the crown already activates siri on my wrist many times when im bending it back.

I'm also not keen on what this Pro might cost here in Canada, since I always chose the value version being the Sport series. I'm on S5 will probably upgrade to the regular S8, because the battery is starting to suffer.

I’ll quote you when this thing comes out and you are buying it. “Oh I love my Apple Watch pro!”

Just give it a chance. Remember the iPhone seams guy? Said he’d never buy an iPhone with seams?

He’s me.

I still don't get it. Why would an athlete be more interested in something so big on his wrist? Why would athletes have such big wrists in the first place? Why would athletes, who are more likely to take a fall, buy something that costs 1000 Dollars? It is more rugged, yes, but fall on your hands with your MTB and the thing will be in pieces.
