Well it figures, the day I make a thread, I walk into Great Clips after work and 3 people waiting had them lmao

I think I have seen 3 others so far. Prior to the Apple Watch I really wanted an Oris so I kept an eye out for someone wearing one and did see a few but really, they were hard to find. Oris is not an uncommon brand but still hard to find someone with one when you're looking.

I’ve not seen one in the wild, just one guy here at the hospital I work at has one, and that is due to his son working for Apple.

Also the issue of wearing a watch on the right and not the left, yeah, those guys are shifty, I heard they are derived from 3rd world gypsies who steal souls from children and kittens. I once ran into one at the mall, I fell over of course cuz I was running, learned the lesson the guy at the pool has preached for years.

The iPhone is a smash hit, home run! The Apple Watch is an errant, foul ball! This is the reason you rarely see one in public. Most consumers are smart enough to avoid the Apple Watch. It's poorly constructed, over hyped and GROSSLY overpriced.

I've never seen one in the wild either.
I've seen five so far and three were women. Never seen a Rolex in the wild in my life or a Breitling or a IWC for that matter. I really can't say I look at people's wrists to see what watch they are wearing but the Apple Watch does have a look that you can spot. So it appears they have sold about 5mm so far and I have seen more than the other three that have sold many millions. Not sure what the point is when there is already a thread about this exact topic.

I haven't see one in the wild either besides in the apple store. I don't think many Apple Employees have seen them either because a few weeks ago I went to the store and bought something with Apple Pay. The employee was excited and said this was her first time accepting Apple Pay from a watch user.

The Apple Watch goes on sale in my country tomorrow (yay!) but I think it'll take a while for the people here to buy one. Oh boy, I'm so eager to know how they will respond to mine.

I've seen one, but it was on a low-rate 'celebrity', so I don't really count that. I've seen quite a few Android smart watches, but never an Apple Watch.

I don't doubt the watch has sold millions, but it clearly hasn't sold in the numbers that Apple and Apple's investors are happy with. A price reduction is surely imminent.

The only people I have seen wearing the Apple watch have been the Apple Store employees, no one else. Since I am a watch fan, I ALWAYS look for watches.
If the Watch has sold about 3 million in the U.S, you would have about a one in a MILLION chance of running into someone wearing one. So not so strange most people haven't seen one wearing one yet... ;)

What's the issue with wearing a watch on the right wrist?
There's no issue. Did I say I had any issue with it? No. Maybe you shouldn't be so presumptious in the future, eh? ;) I was just making an off-hand observation - probably because if the guy had worn his watch on the traditional arm, I would never even have seen it, due to the throng of people blocking the view.

but to change your signature to further show your disdain. Wow
If you set your way-back machine to look at iPhone after a couple months, you would have concluded that Apple isn't a phone maker either... ;) I think most sane rational people - including Apple themselves - realized long ago that the Watch would never sell as fast as the iPhone, because it's a more niche device.

Maybe we should give Apple some time to iterate on this thing, eh? Polish the rough edges, add some missing bits and so on before declaring the thing a loss. ;)

Personally I didn't buy an iPhone until iP4, because I felt it just wasn't good enough until then, pror iPhones lacked certain features that had been standard on other phones for years, and earlier iPhones also had that weird curved (plastic in more recent models) back too which I never liked.

The checkout lady in the supermarket was wearing a 38mm with a pink strap this morning. First one I've actually seen outside of TV & marketing material.

Another early adopter Apple person at work has one. Also my dentist decided to get one, and he was influenced to finally take it out of the box when he saw me wearing mine. So it's only a couple of people so far. But you're talking a ballpark 3 million sold so far. If it was just US, that's less than 1 in every 100 people. But I'm pretty sure that's worldwide, so it's even fewer people. That would mean in my high school graduating class from back in the day, maybe two of us would have one.

It's not a product with a "ooh, gotta have that" feature yet. The iPhone sold itself on being the best mobile phone with an iPod and Internet access built in. Almost everybody needs a mobile phone nowadays, and adding Internet functions was a huge change and something that easily benefitted people. The ability to stop carrying a separate iPod helped sway me despite losing 22GB of storage. Then when you could get one for $199 with a two-year contract, game on.

iPads haven't sold quite as well despite still being good sellers because not as many people *need* an iPad. I'd say mine has helped me tremendously, especially saving some money as I go for my second bachelor's degree. Not as helpful as a MacBook Air, but still helpful. But you're talking a more expensive product that you likely don't use as much. People now with the iPhone 6 Plus have even less of a need for iPads.

Apple Watch is still finding its place. It's already the best-selling smartwatch. But it's a new category that hasn't hit a point where a bunch of people NEED them or have been convinced at how useful they are. I find lot of use in fitness tracking (well, not-so-fitness tracking) so I have data on certain things such as steps and heart rate. I've hit my stand goal almost every day, and it's good to have a general idea of my heart rate. If the hardware really can detect blood sugar or oxygen count with some government approval, that would be a huge addition and a big selling point for diabetics.

I find mine VERY useful at places that take Apple Pay. To use it at Walgreens yesterday, I easily opened up Passbook to use my Walgreens card, then double tapped on the not-crown button and tapped the POS device. Boom, I'm done. Get Target and gas stations aboard with Apple Pay and it'll exponentially get more useful.

So, I have yet to see anyone else with a Apple Watch besides myself, so I guess mine is the necest I have seen? lol. Granted I have seen them on the Employees at the Apple Store (Damn then, they are why I returned my Sport and went with the SS haha)

But I am in Charlotte NC and have yet to see a single soul walking around with one. Makes me kind of sad :( <-- See!! LOL

I actually saw 2 in your airport(CLT) but on a normal week I will see someone with a sport. Not very many SS sightings for me. 3 of my coworkers have them as well...

Quite a few people at my office have one. I've had a few people at the gym ask me about it. I'll probably get the stainless steel one next year.

I loved my Sport but when I walked into the Apple Store and saw them on the employees I was giddy over how shiny they were lol. So luckily the manager there was very happy to allow me to return mine which at that point was a month and half old and credit my card back for a full refund and ordered me the SS.

Did you just crawl out from under a rock? :p By even the most conservative sales numbers, they have sold $2,000,000,000.00 work of them. That's 2 BILLION dollars worth!

Back on topic: I've seen several in public and have 3 friends that have them.

I see them every day if I get out and about, and that's not counting the two guys at work who have theirs. Sport models are the most common, with the occasional SS with traditional buckle, leather loop, or Milanese mesh. Even a couple at an Apple Store was looking to add new straps to theirs, which already had the traditional and modern buckles.

I haven't noticed any gold or link bracelet models yet, though.
