Apple know what they are doing and I am sure that they knew that the Ultra would attract more than adventurers and athletes. It’s a good thimg too that the Ultra has healthy sales because hopefully that will ensure there is an Ultra 2 next year. Hopefully it will have additional sensors, a reduced bezel as I am sure there is potential for that and perhaps a DLC titanium versionin black

I'm keeping both! Hermes for office or special occasions with the leather bands, and sleep tracking with a sport loop. Then ultra for other every day use.

If you FORCED me to keep one, I'll keep the Hermes S7. Can't beat those beautiful watch faces!

Exact same story here, keeping both. SS S7 for office and special occasions with the leather bands, and sleep tracking with a sport loop.

I can't see the APU fitting under a dress shirt sleeve.

Then ultra for other every day use. Only difference is if I had to keep one, it would for sure be the AWU. But, I don't have a Hermes.

How’s everyone battery life looking? I’m upgrading from Series 4 and a do a lot of weight lifting and cycling (bi daily training sessions)

I also love to hear podcasts and music and right now after a 2h workout session I’m down to 32% from 100%

I do t do workouts but I am ecstatic about my battery life. About 3 days. Going to switch wearing ultra 24 7 then charge every third day while I am in the shower or making coffee.

Fast charger is that good.

Got my ultra on friday with the black trail loop! I was searching for the ultra with the green alpine loop, but I‘m glad I‘ve waited for the trail loop instead of buying one with the alpine loop earlier. I‘ve tried the alpine loop several times and it was fine, but I have to say that the trail loop is even more comfortable to me. And I love the fast and easy, very precise adjustments you can make with it. 175mm wrist with m/l trail loop.

Looks great. I’m waiting for my black Trail Loop - M/L to arrive. In the UK, waiting times for the Ultra watch with the black Trail Loop in M/L is only two weeks now So hopefully the trail loop will arrive soon

I got this Spigen screen protector from Amazon and it works great thanks to Apple Watch Ultra’s flat screen. It is not cheap, however, it almost looks like there is nothing on now. Link below:

So FYI:

(and this applies to all apple watches)

My crown wheel was a little sticky, not as smooth as it should be.

Solution:

Run warmer water in the sink,
Put your watch crown under the water.
Scroll the crown back and forth for about 10 seconds.
Smooth scrolling again.

I think body oils build up and slow the "glide" of the crown after a while.

Just gone mine - love, love, LOVE it! Now debating a screen protector…but have taken Apple Cover. Thoughts?

I got one to prevent minor scratches. I will use apple care for anything more serious. The screen protector I linked above also sits a fraction of a millimeter above the watch face so it should also help to reduce scratches to the aluminum ring around the watch face.

Looks nice!

No disclosure on the jeweler's website about how that affects the Apple warranty and AppleCare, though I think we can safely guess: I'm sure that voids the warranty (and AppleCare), so if anything happens you're totally on your own.

Did you get a good installation? There are lots of comments in the Amazon review about installation issues, but that's probably guaranteed with *any* screen protector.

On my Ultra, when I lift my wrist using, for instance my compass or for timing, the display goes dim after 15 seconds or so - very aggravating. The only way I've found to keep it bright is to keep rotating the dial toward me (a brief turn every couple of seconds). When I'm using it for these events, I'm not concerned with battery longevity, I'm only concerned with what I'm doing at the time.

Under display and brightness you can increase time to 70secs

Also under general return to clock you can increase time by app to 1 hour.

Don’t know if either of these settings will help you.

I love my Ultra, but there are a couple of things I’d like to see improved in future versions;

- the bottom of the crown guard is a bit too sharp to my likening (as it regularly contact my wrist); I’d think a slightly rounded bottom edge would make it more comfortable
- the bottom of the crown touches my wrist when turning it, which feels a bit annoying; I’d prefer the bottom of the crown to be a bit higher or less exposed
- the top edges are a bit sharp, it looks nice and is no discomfort during the day, but I do find it a bit uncomfortable when sleeping (when it’s ‘rubbing’ against sheets or other contact areas)
- the thickness of the watch makes it feel less comfortable to sleep with than a regular AW (which I’m using again for nighttime).

I have a ~190 wrist, which is pretty average I believe.

Yes, mine is perfect because it comes with plastic frames which position the protector corectly onto the watch. It also comes with a little squeegee to push out any bubbles. I have installed about 20 screen protectors on various devices over the years and these new ones which come with installation frames are almost foolproof.

Why would you use a screen protector on the Ultra?
