If they were planning on a Mac mini redesign to accommodate Apple silicon, I don’t see why they wouldn’t have already done it. The size of the Mac mini is now dictated by the internal PSU and an apparent desire to keep the square enclosure. If they lose either one of those, they can make the Mac mini quite a bit smaller…but they chose not to.

Two words = Rack mounting

This form factor has been consistent for years and the enterprise server farm industry would not take kindly to radical changes in this department

Press release - Probably rather a refresh of an existing line than a new product, so my guess would be Apple TV or homepod

That would certainly be the least exciting Apple new product announcement since iPod socks.
I loved iPod socks. I remember me and 5 friends all chipped in and had a different one each. Green was always a favourite but it got really grubby but at least it could be washed with your normal socks!!

Feels like bringing the M1 to the Apple TV wouldn't be super duper hard, and please correct me if I'm wrong but M1 is more powerful the A Series chip we have in iPhone, iPads etc?
The M1 is the same architecture as the A14, so yes it is based off of the A14. The point is, whatever SoC they put in a future Apple TV, from a marketing perspective, it will never be an “M1,” because that is the Mac processor. Past Apple TVs had the A-series, so they will continue with that.

I bought a refurb Apple TV 4K two weeks ago as I couldn’t wait until the spring. Love it and wish I had updated long ago from my third gen.

I’ll be extremely annoyed if they drop a new one right now.

What about an updated Apple TV remote??

A test run before a new set launches in the spring??

Although Prosser said back in March it was ready to launch.

Maybe AirTags and Fitness+ are connected? The U1 chip would make some pretty cool things possible when combined with recording your workouts with an iPhones/iPads with LIDAR. Whoa. Actually, those tools are probably an order of magnitude better than what's used by the best golf pros to analyze their swing currently.

I just bought a refurb 16" Intel MBP so it better not be another Intel MBP. OTOH, the one I bought would likely do me well enough until I finally 100% switch over to AS regardless.

Mac Pro
- M1xxx 64 core 5.2 Ghz
- 128 PCIe 5.0 Lanes
- 2TB RAM limit DDR5
- Dedicated 250W GPU based off that in the M1 faster than the GTX 3090 in FP32 and AMD MI100 in FP64
- Dedicated Neural Engine card.

Anything less and Apple will have let us down.😜
