Does anyone know if in the past you had to pay for the iPod along with the mac up front or did you just get the rebate when you buy the Mac with out paying for the iPod? How was this done in the past? I would assume it would be the same this time around?

My understanding is that it's a rebate you submit online, so you pay up front and get a check in the mail later.

How many times will someone ask this question in this thread?

Hey, quick question. I like to jump into threads, not read through them and then ask quick questions.

So, Does anyone know if in the past you had to pay for the iPod along with the mac up front or did you just get the rebate when you buy the Mac with out paying for the iPod? How was this done in the past? I would assume it would be the same this time around?

Thank you for answering my question and allowing me to continue my laziness.

:D

Uhhh i don't know how much longer I can wait. For me the 14th is going to be the cut off. I am starting to really question if I need the iPod anyway? I have an iPad 1 and 2 and iPhone4 and an iPhone 2g that works perfectly fine that I can use and an iPod if I want. So do I really need an iPod touch? lol an plus my birthday is the 12th so I wanted to gift the MacBook pro to myself:D but then again I waited all this time already...how much longer could it really be?

You could sell the iPod, though, for like £150 or so which is a nice amount for anyone. I've ordered my iMac but I'll return it if the promotion does happen as I recall someone in this thread made a very good point that the Japanese have already had their BTS promotion this year so it would be very odd for them not to release it in the US and the UK, but its probably being pushed back due to Lion and iCloud.

I almost bought a MBP today, but just cause I was at the store messing around with it. I'll be waiting though cause outa sight, outa mind. One question though. Is it worth it to go with the Higher Res screen on a 15 inch? Would I even see that much of a difference? The sales rep was telling me it would only be noticeable if I bought the high res on a 17 inch? Thx fellas.

Nonsense, you will have much more workable space. I swear, some Apple guys need to think about people rather than sales.

Back to School Promo

I can't tell you how excited I am for this amazing promo to happen. I LIVE FOR MAC PRODUCTS! So, what specifically is the offer, and when will it be available? Also, is the rebate taken off the initial bill or do you have to pay for everything and send something back? BOY THIS IS GREAT!!!:)

Just look above. They better start this promo soon because some posters are losing it. I really hope that it is the 14th.

Thats what i thought also. Funny thing is, he's the first one to try to up sell me. The other apple salesmen were trying to get me to go one step down.

Does anyone know where they're buying their mac from if the Apple Back to School promotion doesn't end up happening on the 14th? I'm looking to buy the 13" 2.3ghz Macbook Pro, and the lowest price I've been able to find is around $1130 from Amazon. I saw that Micro Center price of $999+tax earlier in the thread but there isn't one in my state.

I just want to buy one already to be done with this madness!!!

The way I'm approaching this is I am buying my macbook pro on the 14th no matter what. If the promo starts that's awesome, but if not, I am not waiting any longer.

I am doing the same thing. But if they happen to launch the promo with in the 14 days I am going back with my receipt and hopefully they will let me get iPod and if not I'm just gonna return the MacBook pro and re buy it I don't care. It's not like there is a restock fee and I literally live across the street from my apple store so what do I really have to loose

why are people still talking about the 14th? The guy said he was lying are we really that desperate? If anything your deadline should be at the end of the week like Friday or Saturday not at the very beginning of it..

A friend of my cousin's, who is distantly related to Steve Jobs housekeeper's uncle, said that, starting on July 15th, if you buy Lion for $29, Apple will give you a free macbook pro to run it on.

Apparently, all you need to do is pay for the macbook and Steve will bring the rebate check to your house.
