Three days to go!! :D Is it possible that if I wait until July to take advantage of this promotion, I get the MBP with OS X Lion installed?? I'm building my hopes up, aren't I??

why are people still talking about the 14th? The guy said he was lying are we really that desperate? If anything your deadline should be at the end of the week like Friday or Saturday not at the very beginning of it..

The 14th comes from reasons that don't include that idiot's lies (read the rest of the thread). Also, Apple has a history of launches on Tues/Wed.

You don't need to wait till July to get lion for free. After June 6th any MBP bought gets lion for free. It's on apple site, they give you a code to download it from the app store when it gets released.

Having consistently been contributing to this and other threads regarding the BTS promotion I have to say the date of the 14th doesn't really have any greater foundation than any other date. Yes, we're hoping it's the 14th like we have hoped it was the previous three Tuesday's but it 's as likely to pass us by like all the other ones. No one really knows when and if at all Apple will run the BTS promotion - it's not a given that it will run this year and once the 14th passes then we'll all be going "it's the 21st, it's the 21st!!"

Oh alright, even though I still don't understand the basis for the June 14th date i'll go with it.

Anyway, does anyone know whether I can get Apples Adobe CS5 Discount, Education Pricing Discount and the Back-to-School Promotion Ipod Touch all in one order?

I guess having all those discounts is kind of asking for alot, but hell, I'm paying a lot lol.

Why not get the Macbook Pro with the iPod Touch promotion (if they still have it, rumors are still flying everywhere saying they might not have it) Then go to like Adobe.com to buy it at an education discount for like $400? $500 I believe?

If not Tuesday, then no BTS promotion? Seems very unlikely but a possibility.

Chances that Apple gives Mac buyers the promotion whom have already purchased a Mac before they announce the BTS?

Well if I got CS5 from adobe the price would be $450 but if I bought it through the apple promotion which is if you buy CS5 with your macbook pro the price would be cut to $350.

I'm trying to save as much money for when I start school as I can so it's really in my best interest to welcome any type of discount or promotion.

There seems to be some "evidence" that Apple have previously allowed those who purchased 14 day's previous to take advantage of the promotion by way of "refunding" the original order and then immediately creating a new order which also contains the iPod. No actual money is refunded, it's just an admin thing so the iPod and computer purchase appear on the same receipt and you can claim the rebate. However you are relying on Apple's goodwill for this and perhaps you may be at the mercy of the individual Apple employee to make this happen.

Yea, that would make sense given the Apple employee.

Two days ago, I purchased the Core i7 13" MacBook Pro and I asked the employee if the BTS promotion would start within the 14 day if I could take advantage of the promotion, he said I would. But, I've heard some cases where they wouldn't from other posts. I may have to find the weakest link in the Apple store.

I got CS5 suite online somewhere for like $200 with a student ID. There are way better deals.

which ipod touch generation do you get for the bts this year? third or fourth?
because if it is third, we would have to estimate the price getting deducting much less than 199 if we sell it on ebay or something right?

Hi, I'm not sure if this question has been asked, but if I buy a Macbook Pro tomorrow, Sunday, and they announce it on Tuesday like the rumors say, is there a way I can take part in the promotion like returning it and buying it again or something like that?

yes (plain)

Does anyone else have a problem with people asking questions that have been answered, in the tread, about ten times?!?!!?!?!

regarding the return policy (as somebody says we may return and place another new order together with the ipod within 14 days of purchase should the promotion start after our purchase within 14 days), how do you make of the following return policy found on apple's website? did the staff say anything about these when you asked?

For eligible products, you have up to 14 calendar days from the time you receive your item(s) to initiate a return. Personalised iPods (e.g., engraved or customised in any way) may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances unless such product is Dead on Arrival (see the section below for more detailed information on such Dead on Arrival products). If the item is returnable and you send it back to us unopened in the original box, Apple will offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product. A 25% open box fee will be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory (per return unit). A 15% restocking fee will be assessed on closed box returns (per unit).

Those fees don't exist in the US.
I just returned my MacBook Pro I purchased and used for exactly 14 days. Full refund and no hassle. The only thing the employee asked me was if there was anything wrong with it. I said no and then he gave me my return receipt.
