I just got this email one minute ago for two of my orders (out of 4)

I just got the same e-mail after the rep I spoke with promised me he would get it re-submitted without issue. I need someone to talk me down from the ledge.

I ordered my iPhone 4 from the apple site with the pick-up option, and got a conformation email to my yahoo account and my mobile me account. Where are you checking the status of your phone, I also don't see anything in my bank account in terms of a hold. Is this because I'm choosing to pick my phone up?

I've got three going right now it still says Prepared for Shipment?

Does this mean they will go through?

I ordered one at 1:30pm CDT, 1:48 CDT, and 4:29 CDT

Thanks

You didn't ORDER A PHONE. Read the above posts. You reserved one. You haven't purchased it. You haven't been authorized by ATT. You haven't ordered one yet!

Those that have order status emails, etc. PURCHASED their and are entitled to a shipment (or refund if canceled.)

Some people like me did not get the email telling us to do that only an order acknowledgment, which is bs apple should have a least have called or sent an email before they canceled ,i spent from 12am all the way to 9pm central trying to order and was going to get on the 24th and i am terminally ill and in a wheelchair it took a lot out of me to do that!,me and so many others have been screwed by apple and they won't do a thing to fix, just told me they would have to do new order and wouldn't get till after Jul 15th! i was so frustrated i was almost in tears! i even had the apple rep guy tell me "you know it is just a phone a few xtra weeks isn't the end of the world" the fu..cker it's not the fact that it's just a ph but what i had to go through for my order, then they screw us over with no warning and won't fix it.Congrats to all those getting theirs on the 24th i am glad your so happy.... just hope the same thing don't happen to you! i have never been so pissed at a company after spending thousands of $'s with them, hell i just bought the new macbook and new 13"mbp last month this is total BS!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Amen brother. I feel the same. It may not be a big deal, in the grand scheme of things, but the way this has been handled is absolutely disgraceful. I've also spent many thousands with Apple and At&t and that makes me really resent how indifferent they are to my plight. I've spent north of 5 hours trying to resolve this. All for nothing.

Like I said, pay ON TIME and you don't have a problem. Quit complaining about your order. You're not getting one and it's your fault.

yes maybe it is my fault maybe not. Since we don't know if that is the cause of the cancelled order you or anyone else can't be certain

AT&T iPhone

My wife and I are new AT&T customers as of Tuesday. I ordered a phone for each of us on the family plan on AT&T.com. I received a confirmation email and have even talked to AT&T customer service regarding transfer of phone numbers. My order on AT&T.com says that both phones are "In Progress," but my credit card doesn't have any charges on it. I ordered pretty early in the day and it seems like the majority of the cancellations are from later orders. I need to know if we are going to get our phones. This ineptitude is why I have been fighting not switching to AT&T.

well count me in to the cancelled order group. this is just insane. I put an order through on the att site but recieved no confirm and my account wasnt hit so i kept trying on apples site and finally got through but my account was hit so i called att to cancel the order and the guy told me it was probably going to be cancelled because of an over due amount so i paid it. sure enough the next morning i checked with att and my order went through so I called and cancelled it to which later i checked the site and it was cancelled. I just happened to check my bank account today and noticed the charge from apple wasn't there anymore but the one from at&t was so I called the bank and had the at&t charge taken off. the bank guy told me the apple charge was taken off then put back on then taken off again over the course of a couple days??? weird. So i called apple and the guy told me my order looked fine and he didn't know why the charge hit on the day I ordered since they dont charge until it ships. Not more than six hours later I get the cancellation email.
This is disgusting they shouldn't be able to just cancel an order with out contacting you to take action. So pissed right now...........

Based on your story here, it's not surprising that you got cancelled.

Most people don't need to tell their bank to remove any charges at all, since again, they aren't real charges, only pre-authorizations.

I assume either your account wasn't paid in full (at the time that Apple/AT&T's computers checked to see if you were eligible) or your attempts to order from multiple sites or something similar. I went to Apple.com, ordered (had to try a couple times) and that's it. I now have a phone prepared for shipment, and I assume I'm not going to be cancelled.

However, there are others it seems that have accounts paid in full yet are getting their orders cancelled, but the specifics are often unclear as many people on these forums have trouble with even elementary grammar.

I was getting a little concerned because I thought I never received the CSS email from AT&T. Turns out, there are two places on the AT&T profile where you can specify an email address. Those of you who think you haven't received your CSS may want to double check your account. Let me walk you through getting to both places:

First place:
1. Log into your account, and click My Profile just below the orange navigation bar.
2. The first email address location is located under the first section entitled "Account Information". This address was correct in my case.

Second place:
1. Log into your account, and click My Profile just below the navigation bar.
2. Click the second tab at the top that says "User Information".
3. Icons representing all your lines will be displayed. An email address can be specified for each line, and THIS is the address where the CSS is sent. In my case it was incorrect. Fortunately, I still had access to that email address, and I confirmed I did receive the CSS after all.

It's probably a good idea to check the email address for all lines. The email address for both me and my wife was incorrect. It wouldn't surprise me if many of you who haven't received a CSS actually did receive one, only it didn't go to the email address you expected.

So now the million dollar question (for me at least): Has anyone who got a CSS received a cancellation?

Anyone got canceled today that had a status of "Prepared for Shipment" in their Apple.com account status?

I talked with a apple rep today and he said mine was the first account today he saw that was prepared for shipment... he said you are good to go, you were cleared with at&t for pricing all has gone through fine and you will for sure be getting yours on the 24th!

anyone in the same boat as me at the moment but yet got there order canceled?

Right like I said to the other poster, maybe it was because it was past due or maybe not but until I get a definitive answer it's just speculation.

Ya... I saw that but that doesn't mean anything at the moment... ESPECIALLY since it says "From apples Website".... like this really applies to the iPhone4 pre-order right now!

There are some major screw ups happening right now, but want to make sure that there isn't somewhere out there that woke up this morning saw it was prepared for shipment and then just read this and went back to his status and saw it was canceled.

Who knows at this point with how bad Apple and AT&T are screwing this pre-order thing up right now!

I also just got that same stupid email, after the apple rep placed my order for me...

Once it is prepared for shipment, it is out of Apple's hands.

I don't know if this will help or hurt anyone's situation, but as of RIGHT NOW:

I ordered from apple.com

My order is "prepared for shipment"

I received an order confirmation from apple (which says the blerb at the bottom about having accepted the AT&T terms), a confirmation to my order SHIPPING address change, (I changed it from my home to work address) and a CSS email from apple.

The CSS email has details on my upgrade, and estimates my total next months bill after the $18 upgrade fee and all that.

I had the unlimited data plan, and didn't change it so it still shows that.

My upgrade date has changed, and is now 6/18/2011

The order was for a single 16GB (Black lol) iPhone 4. The number used was elligable for a full upgrade, and was part of a family plan. I did not however get more than 1 iPhone on any of the other lines.

I do not remember clicking any checkboxes about agreeing to AT&T stuff during my apple.com checkout, and subsequently did not recieve any emails from them after placing my order that told me to accept any terms.

The order initially was on hold on my credit card, both visibly and in reference to my current balance. NOW however, the balance has gone back down (to the amount not counting the iPhone) but the order still shows pending on this months running invoice.

Hope this helps somebody.

How ironic that a few days ago when I urged people to print out their old CSS noting their grandfathered unlimited plan, people said that the CSS means nothing.

Of course, whenever you enter into a new contract a new CSS is created. I received mine via email a couple of days ago, and it is now available on the ATT website, along with a notation that my new contract ends 6/2012.

Now, it appears that the CSS is a lot more important than people wanted to believe. In order for a new contract to become effective between ATT and the customer, a new CSS MUST be created.

Your CSS IS your contract...Your plan can change at your request during the term of your contract, and the CSS will not be updated, but the actual terms and conditions of your relationship with ATT are spelled out in this document. The CSS is the legal document that binds you to ATT for the 2 years.

For anybody who has not received a new CSS after pre-ordering, you need to get on the phone ASAP Monday when ATT opens.

Good luck.

A CSS is not legally binding. Just FYI.
