This is no different than politicians telling you everything is OK, while they proceed to f everything up for their own benefit.

Politicians tell such fibs because they've seen how successful marketing departments are with the gullible customers, not just Apple but thru history.:apple:

If Apple's 400 micron flatness standard is tighter than for previous generations of iPad, yet isn't good enough for posters here, then iPad flatness standards were never good enough. If they were never good enough, why did any of you ever buy an iPad?

If there are iPads failing to meet that standard out of the box, I presume Apple would replace them.

Seems pretty straightforward. If it’s outside of the 400 microns it’s a defect and gets replaced I’d assume?

You can actually return it (within a certain time period, of course) for almost any reason.

So if you get an iPad that's bent 100 microns, you can say it doesn't meet your expectations and return it for replacement.

Apple has always prided itself on having super tight tolerances for their devices. I suspect that ipad shown in the picture is probably a manufacturing defect which should be replaced under warranty since it's clearly more than 400 microns. That ipad is curved about 2-3 millimeters which is about 8 times greater than the tolerance.

If this meets or exceeds Apple quality standards, I guess the new Apple quality standards are quite low!!

Please someone fire Mr. Arrogant, Lame excuser, Dan Riccio.

"Note, these slight variations do not affect the function of the device in any way."

Except wait till you try to type or draw on that and you hear TAP TAP TAP over and over as it hits into the table. Great job, Apple. Dumbasses

It is clear from the photos that these out-of-the-box bowed iPad Pros are like nothing seen before. Apple even admits that some are coming out of manufacturing in a bowed condition.

Apple's Dan Riccio's statement doesn't directly address the issue. He is talking about the standards and tolerances but NOT saying that those bowed iPad Pros are within those standards. He is leaving the connecting of dots as an exercise for the reader.

This reminds me of the comment a few iPhones ago, "Your holding it wrong. Here's an expensive rubber-band to make it work correctly." LOL!!!

Funny how everyone is showing their rage out based on an exaggerated picture. Do people know what 400 microns are?
I have a 10.5" that is just as bendable, and it has been perfect. It travels every single day in my backpack with no issues whatsoever.

You mean "Photo", as in singular, as in 1 photo.

It meets or exceeds their quality requirements? Oh good. That's good to know. I guess it's not bent, then.
