Yes, because you intentionally ignored what I wrote about Apples attitude and pushing QA on customers.

And that people are now reduced to criticising what Theverge claims Apple said just shows that there was never really any issue to find fault with in the first place.

Admit it. theverge posted a misleading article for clicks, and it’s just easier to just double down on the outrage and grasp at straws rather than admit that you were all played by Theverge for fools and suckers.

Apple will be fine.

That it took several weeks before we saw the first case being report suggests that this is likely an isolated incident. I have no idea how bad 400 microns is, but it’s probably nowhere as extreme as the photos suggest.

Most users will likely receive iPads in perfect condition and go on to enjoy using them. The few who aren’t satisfied with the condition of their iPads are welcome to return or exchange them.

Much ado over nothing. Talk about outrage for the sake of outrage.
Did you miss the postings that mention that Apple want to charge for replacements?

And you've seen the photos that are clearly bent further than 400 microns which means their outside of Apples tolerances.

This is very much about how Apple want to handle this. Sure Apple make millions of devices so there will be some duds. They need to make it right without blaming or financial penalising the customer.

It's threads like this that force Apple to fix thier mistakes. It's always the same people in these threads trying to say there is no issue but it amazing how more times then not Apple ends up with some sort of repair program after a thread like this. Honestly it just makes you look silly time and time again. It's great to see most people waking up to Apples BS.

There now appears to be two separate cases.

Apple has stated their tolerance levels. Those iPads shown exceed the tolerances. People are conflating the two and thinking that Apple is saying that those bent iPads are acceptable.

Apple has said nothing of the sort. The photos have nothing to do with the article at all. They are there solely to mislead the readers and generate faux outrage.

People generated over 1000 responses in a thread about what Theverge claims Apple said, not what Apple actually said.

Your self-righteous indignation. Your so-called justice. Your rage.

It was all a lie.

It"s true even if it disappears.
Happy holidays to you, Sir.
Thank you, and my "hard-hitting" posts are only meant as tough-love for the tech company I grew up loving as a visual designer (art meets technology) for the last 35+ years. But, maybe Tim Cook and the team of MR apologists are too short-sighted to see that sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind...Steve Jobs knew.

Let's say I'm over 40 and I believe people growing up post iPhone and post 4G LTE everywhere have no clue what innovation and quality means.

I hear you, I am 50 and have been using Macs since I was 15, hence the 35 years...

and even though I am 50 I am still a relevant, edgy, well-employed visual designer and front end web developer and video editor with a strong sense of modern style combined with decades of wisdom the safe-space snowflake generation knows nothing about.

Did you actually read what Apple said?

Again, the pictures ARE NOT said to be acceptable by Apple. ARE NOT.

The Verge posted those pictures and then said Apple called it normal.

The ONLY thing Apple said is that their tolerance is 400 microns and a bend within this tolerance is not considered a defect. They never said those pictures were not defects because they didn’t comment on them.

READ and think critically, or just don’t contribute. It’s seriously people like you that produce all this fake news and evidently work at the Verge.

What do you think about this?

A guy needs to send in his iPad and it will be "checked".
If Apple does not find this is eligible they might charge him.

I don't want to prolong the Verge article discussion.
I honestly would like to know what you would think, if this happened to you.

PS: I hope the link works.

To-MAY-to, to-MAH-to. Po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to....

Now... Fight!! Er, I mean ‘debate’ instead...

If there is a bend over 400 microns, apple will replace it.

You are right.

I haven’t been mindful enough.

Heres the thing: You arent going to change anybodys mind and certainly no one is going to change yours.
You’ve made your arguments ad-nausem to every new poster who chimes in on the other side. Arent you just about done yet?

Dang dude, you had me until you discounted an entire generation of people as ‘snowflakes’. Way to prop yourself up then totally discredit yourself lol

I think Apple will replace it. Just them checking it sounds like it refutes people reporting Apple just sends customers away.

...Meanwhile, when asked to comment about the situation REM had this to say...
‘It’s the BEND of the world as we know it and I feel fine’
BTW... Lenny Bruce says ‘400 microns... pshaw...’

Except my IPad Air 2 is so very perfectly flat I can’t pick it up off the table the times it lands face-down without sliding a piece of paper underneath. #geniusdesign Guess I just got super lucky if some iPad Air 2’s have more than .4 mm flatness.

Every product is going to have bends, but is it beyond typical tolerance levels? We need some independent tests, especially compared to previous models and other products, including from other manufacturers.

Scratched my head when I read this.
Any other device with a bend as pictured is defective and treated as such.

It’s a design flaw and expect even more bend issues with iPad Pro’s in different climates. Very unfortunate as I wanted a new one but not interested in this roof tile.

Not everybody is affected though. Get one and return it if this issue is there on yours.
