There are so many reasons that it make sense to include that
The solution on the iPad Air is cheaper, but not better.
In-display optical and ultrasonic fingerprint sensors have higher DPI. Not to mention much more ergonomic.
You must inform it to apple , mat be a security flaw.Oddly enough, My face ID on my 12 Pro Max has been unlocking even when I have a facemask on
Why you need to enter Passcode standing under security camera or someone looking over or leaning on your shoulders !What do you mean "people cannot use ApplePay for purchases if wearing masks?" Of course you can. You just need to enter your phone passcode.

That is an excellent point.I'm curious why people think Apple would put the TouchID sensor in the power button on iPhones when most users use a case? It makes sense on an iPad where significantly less people use cases that cover the button.
How about just working on better batteries, lower PWM rates and better QC, Apple?!
All things in your power today and good for everyone.

Also I'll take touch ID in the power button.
Do we really need to know where your gf puts your fingers when you're sleeping? ?Unless it prevents a nosy GF who's sleeping over take your finger and TouchID into your phone and private life (passwords, bank accounts, notes etc) then it's NOT better. Don't care how many DPI's are there. If it cannot tell I'm NOT intending to unlock then its just the same old Touch ID.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you are saying with a mask on.Masks are here to stay
There is one other way to use ApplePay, without any issue of having to use TouchID or FaceID - an Apple Watch. I have my series 5, and always forget I can pay this way. Would be helpful if Apple allowed Wallet to be a complication, not that it’s that hard to push the crown in and scroll down to Wallet...Why you need to enter Passcode standing under security camera or someone looking over or leaning on your shoulders !
Pandemic is a time limited event. Bad to plan technology people use for years around the pandemic.Face ID sucks when wearing a mask. It would be much easier to have both features. I think Apple shot itself on the foot since the pandemic made Face ID useless.
It’ll unlock, for me, if I’m wearing a mask incorrectly and not covering my nose which wholly defeats the purpose of said mask. I just switched to using a 4 digit pin but it would be sweet if this years iPhone had both Touch ID and face idOddly enough, My face ID on my 12 Pro Max has been unlocking even when I have a facemask on
Simple answer = Yes.are any of those lacking as is?
Yeah I agree with this actually and think it would make the most sense. I would LOVE to have FaceID and TouchID (integrated in the side button).Wouldn’t it be „cheaper“ for them to just implement what they already came up with for the iPad Air 4 on the iPhone? The button already got bigger!
Yeah, I was thinking more about data points, a mask covers half of the data points so to speak. But the depth of your eyes, how far the ridge / eye brows hang over. The ridge of your nose. The height of your forehead, etc are all still exposed. It's "Face ID" because it is your whole face. BUT, taking the top half of the data points together with the image of your finger could together be secure.I just posted this so not going to rewrite the entire bit, but Face ID can't scan your Irises and that wouldn't be Face ID of the eyes, it would be Iris scanning. iPhones don't have the hardware for Iris scanning, which is just a smidge more secure than Face ID.
Iris scanning is every bit as hard to fool as Face ID is. We're not talking about the first face recognition and Iris scanning tools from 10 years ago.
The embedded finger print readers are also harder to fool than the original kind.
There is a software component for cheat detection separate from the scanning mechanism. Apple's cheat detection algorithm is what makes or breaks Face ID, same with Iris scanning. Two companies could technically put the same hardware in their device and it not be nearly as secure.
LMAO ... nicely done. I walked into .. nvm not giving you any more ammo lol.Do we really need to know where your gf puts your fingers when you're sleeping? 😆
Simple answer = Yes.
Longer answer = who doesn't want better batteries across the range of iPhones? The low PWM rates effects users who are sensitive and I cannot imagine it's good for anyone's eyes/brain. Quality control is often lacking and has been for many years.
