Why are people hammering Microsoft for not using Windows to create their ads??

I went on a tour of Pixar, now isnt it more embarrassing that I didnt see a SINGLE MAC there??? Jobs is the CEO, couldnt he have gotten them a discount?

hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahaha

Can someone explain?

I have yet to see that error screen.

Disclaimer: Only been a Mac user for a year.

Neither have I and I have been a Mac user since midnight at CompUSA at the big introduction of Windows 95 and I purchased my first computer ever, a Proforma 6200CD with Mac OS 7 along with my friend, who convinced me to go Mac. We were the only two Mac "fanboys" in a store filled entirely of PC "fanboys" who were absolutely giddy about their "new" Windows 95 OS. I have since moved on to a Mac Blue/White "Tower" G3 with Mac OS 8.6 and now enjoying my Mac Intel iMac 24" screen with OS10.4, then 10.5... soon to be 10.6 Mac OS! :apple:

Although I have had my blue/white G3 "freeze" and I pulled the power plug to shut down and plug in and restart and got back in action, never since August of 1995 to today, May 13, 2009, with my three Mac computers have I ever seen that screen. Maybe I am not tryinig hard enough?

Shut up that's why! :p

Same was said about Vista by all the Windows enthusiasts just prior to release.

If MS finds a way to somehow not screw this up, yet again, unbeknownst to everyone, it'll be quite a surprise. If Windows 7 is good, it'll have taken them 8 years to roll out a decent OS. Not that XP was any good. Ugh.

Not true. The early versions of Longhorn maybe. But the Vista beta and RC releases were hammered not only by "enthusiasts" but Microsoft's developers were secretly apologizing to MVPs (Microsoft Valued Professionals) because the product turned into such a sad departure from its early promise.

Microsoft is going to start selling this in the next six months or so. So it's unlikely they can mess this up between now (the release candidate) and the product that goes into manufacturing phase. This will not be another Vista that's for sure.

They are all the same...apple bashing windows for it's ability to crash, and MS bashing apple's over expensive, non customizable features.

It's been the same fight back and forth...wish they would try something new.

personally I dislike macs, a lot.

Good point! Did you know that the little POS PDA's that Apple employees use at the Apple store run Windows Mobile?

So why do so many mac users buy something from MS, a company they despise so much?

And why do so many trolls endlessly spew on the MacRumors forums, a site dedicated to Apple stuff (a company they despise so much)?

i loved elimination so much, don't think i've laughed that much for a while, probably the best 'get a mac' ads ever :D
wonder what kind of 'come back' microsoft will do next

You mean you dislike Macs or OS X?

Just answer my question instead of replying with a seperate question.

It's still an MS product. And EVERYONE knows it's an MS product. So why do so many mac users buy something from MS, a company they despise so much?

I certainly don't. LOL, why woud I? Why would anyone? Yuck!

It makes no sense to use products that are part of the Apple ecosystem (especially as a Mac/OS X user), and then trade down to MS garbageware.

That's like mixing good Scotch with Coke.

Yeah because Macs never cra

funny! keeps us honest. well done.

has anyone noticed the new ads--though i like them very much--do not address pricing or some of the PC features we wish we could get on our macbooks, for ex: firewire, pcmcia, non-glare screens, etc. It'd be great if these new mac ads helped apple prevail in the marketplace, but the PC ads spurred apple to be more responsive to its customers' wishes. That would be win-win. No pun intended.

Because a majority of Mac users *shock* are not biased fanboys. You'll tend to find more of the latter on this site because its a site for Apple enthusiasts. But there are still people able to look at products objectively.

That's what I want to know as well. There are plenty of examples in this forum of mac users who also bought an Xbox360 when they could have gone with the superior PS3 and hurt MS where it matters. It seems Apple users like to complain a lot, but are more than happy to give MS their money for stuff like Windows, Office and Xbox.

I personally don't buy anything from MS. Period. I did enjoy watching my brother's Xbox 360 RROD before my very eyes though. :p

Now that I've clarified my personal position, let's get back to your pathological need to troll these forums...

i think the microsoft ad is better. fact is you can get a better equipped pc for less money than a mac. the more market share apple acquires the more likely viruses will be written for OSx as well. ill keep my mbp though.... thanks.

The Chevy Aveo is about the cheapest car sold in the US. All the exact same safety features as more expensive cars, and with doors, windows, seats, brakes, steering wheel, etc. But no one buys them. Try to figure out why and get back to us.

And the old canard...security through obscurity...raises its ugly head. Always refuted, but never dies.

Does everything have to be black-and-white for you, BMWFan? Is it not conceivable that there are people who are Mac users but who also appreciate some of the good things Microsoft does produce? Mac user != Microsoft hater.

The PS3 may have better hardware (processors, Blu-ray), but it is not as rewarding as the X-Box Live experience.
