Seriously guy, you totally have to accept the fact that all these PC vs Mac arguments are just a complete waste of time. In the end, it all boils down to a simple matter of preference. You can simplify this and end with a BMW vs Mercedes-Benz argument.
1. Macs are PCs as well. Yes, they are.
2. Macs are a premium product, but, Dell has its own premium line, Sony VAIO computers are generally more expensive, and some models are also considered premium products. Whether these products are overpriced DEPENDS entirely on the CUSTOMER. It's a matter of personal opinion.
3. If you want to talk about quality, then there is no point arguing that generally speaking Apple computers are of much quality than Dell or HP. But still, it is not like if your HP will break after a year, unless you are unlucky, and some people are. Apple also has quality issues, especially with iPods.
4. Whether you like it or not, for the average computer user, there are virtually no advantages in chosing OSX over Windows or the other way around. They offer the same basic functionality. When it comes to specific uses, each side has its advantages and disadvantages, such as specific software (Final Cut or 3DS Max) or just mere gaming.
5. Apple, as a company, is not perfect in any way. They too embrace the same ******** policies and anti-competitive behaviors of other corporations like Microsoft and Intel. So please stop acting like if Apple was the most customer oriented company out there. It isn't.
6. I absolutely hate how some people literally praise Steve Jobs as the absolute savior of the universe. He might be a great CEO, but hell, guess who is also a genius, and my opinion a bigger one: yes, your arch-enemy Bill Gates. Actually, just look around, Steve Jobs have the reputation of being a douche.
7. I really hate how arguments like "Using Windows is a vector for viruses" or "Windows crashes all the time" are acknowledged and accepted by this community. I went through the topic about HFS+ support for Windows in bootcamp, and after reading how some people were against it because they were afraid of getting a virus that could compromise their security, I didn't know whether I laugh or cry. I raged when I saw how someone who gave a completely neutral opinion was called a troll several times.
The only time I remember getting a BSOD was when my GPU was failing due to overclocking, a few years ago. I saw a few times in my sisters notebook due to some driver incompatibility, that was ultimately fixed by a driver update. I've seen kernel panics in Linux, I've seen Mac computers crash. Yes, Linux and OS X do crash. The people who seem to be afraid of Windows because of BSODs are either traumatized by an unlucky experience, or just had too much of the Apple kool-aid. Also, I've only had issues with viruses once, yes, just once, even though I'm a "power" software downloader. And honestly, you don't really need such a big effort to avoid viruses. Get a free AV, don't go to dangerous sites, don't open files from strangers. Windows won't get infected out of nowhere. You have to follow the same guidelines in any other OS. To everyone that says that Windows is full of holes, prove it for Windows Vista and Windows 7. And please, stop shoving up the fact that OS X is Unix-based I have news for you. Although the number is certainly higher for Windows, exploits do exist for every operating system.
Just stop, you are not immediately cooler for building your own water-cooled gaming rig, and you are not better than anyone nor smarter for having an Apple product.
Both sides of this ad-war are ****ing ridiculous, but guess who began with these silly ads in the first place.
