Me!! why would Apple forgo the extra 100$ of profit. As long as people are buying iPhone in record numbers, I support their decision. Just think of it as a price hike of 100$

Unless you are earning some of that extra profit, you're just a blinded fan. This is not good for us customers.

Unfair? Go live in a third-world country and then tell me what unfair is. We're talking about iPhones, not the cure for AIDS or the solution to world hunger. If you can afford a new iPhone, 16GB or otherwise, please stop complaining.

I might be able after i sell my second kidney.

Why are you defending Apple? May I ask if you own any shares and/or have any incentive with the company?

It's just odd for me, shouldn't consumers stick together to get their money's worth? Instead some are literally worried about Apple losing revenue.

I think you can view but not create live photos... You'd need iPhone 6S and plus.
I don't see why you need a 6S to do what any phone with a camera can already do. I am sure there are apps already that do this, maybe not as seamless as Apple's but nothing that fancy a 6 is needed. If anything, the toggle to enable it will be in a cydia tweak if so, just like enabling 60 fps on an older iPhone that didn't support "high speed"

Cheapskates, eh? Why don't you come over here to Europe to check how much we pay for even the smallest capacity iPhones, especially after the latest price increases for the 6s generation? It's not a question of being a cheapskate or not but more a question of buying bloody expensive versus ridiculously expensive.

You hit the nail on the head, mate.

But what's another $100 when you're already up to $749 USD? If you buy a new luxury car, are you going to forego the advanced safety package just because it costs an extra couple grand or are you going to complain to the salesman, "Why can't the entry level model just include the driver's assist package?"

Brainwashing, lack of reason and logic. Pick what you like it fits them. What they are trying to pull of here is just wrong. After all they say about privacy, equal rights supply chains and green energy and then they pull this ****? Hypocrites.

I'm no fan, my last iPhone was the 4s.

And you defend the this rip off? You have to be an investor than. I was forced to buy a 64 gb because of the 16gb base model. And I know a whole bunch of people who would brought a 32gb instead of 64 if it was available. But they are greedy.

Here's a tip:

Instead of spending all this time complaining about it, go out and work some overtime in your job so you can get the 64GB version.

Yes it's expensive, but that's the price of admission if you want to use the best mobile ecosystem on the planet.

So we're going to support apple being super greedy are we?

Maybe if apple put some of its margins earned by not upping the storage towards better pay for the people who have to assemble these devices. But no Apple is super greedy. It's no longer about the best experience, it's about profit margins first which is a shame and even more of a shame when people stick up for it.

I for the life of me can't figure out on how the consumers are divided on getting what's best for them or the company.

I like Apple, might even love their products but I couldn't care a rats-arse about their profit margins as for now I don't have any incentive with the company. Until then, I just tend to get my money's worth which sadly some people categorise as cheap, while like minded people think it's the smart thing to do.

How greedy giving 128GB at 64GB price? or giving double size on upgrade?

You should be happy that they gave you 64GB instead 32GB.

What you seem to forget is that non-tech savvy people also buy iPhones, in fact that is Apple's biggest market. And they tend to go for cheapest. Cheapest means smallest storage, and these people end up with a bad experience. Surely that cannot be what Apple is after?

I would argue that they end up with a great user experience, but realize they need more storage, so they upgrade.

I absolutely guarantee on the iPhone 7 they will increase storage to 32gb. They are not inept or aloof, they are simply playing coy and when the dude annouces the price points he will add in that "now you're getting an extra 16gb of storage for the same price as last years model."

It will happen, (too late mind you), and all of you will drop the spiels about it as if nothing happened.

There's a price that's reasonable for a premium smartphone, it's not cheap but not outrageous either. These current iPhones with their outdated storage and price hikes in many countries don't fall into that category anymore but are more a ripoff.

Even if i had shares in Apple. So what? Doing the right thing is ultimately the goal for me, not to lie, steal and be a hypocrite. So in any way if one is a reasonable and moral person they should be equally outraged by this without regards to having a stake in a company or not.

But maybe is just me.

No one forced you to buy anything. I understand your frustration, but as long as people continue to pay these ridiculous prices it will not change. It cost more to build a 16gb wifi ipad than an iphone 6s plus yet apple charges almost double for the phone. They are greedy and have the duty to their shareholders to be greedy as possible, and no I'm not a shareholder.

Err, no one is forcing you to buy an iPhone. Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple.

Not everyone is made of money. Plenty of people buy an iPhone for the long run and really don't have the cash up front to upgrade. The 6 + is already $1229 for 16GB.. another $150 on top of that is ridiculous when at the end of the day Apple is rolling in the dough, they can afford a 32GB model.

To the people who complain about others upset over 16GB: We're upset because it's shady tactics and it's unfair. Apple KNOWS 16GB is nothing especially with this new feature

Baloney.
Turn on iCloud use in Photos and you'll do fine. Need more than 5GB cloud storage ($free)? For less than the price of getting the 64GB model, you can get over 2 years of 200GB iCloud storage. Turn off cellular data for Photos and you won't beat up your data cap. Got a Mac? set that to store full-res copies locally.
We're moving toward automatically shifting data (and, I'm hoping soon, apps too) off the device when not really needed locally - resulting in a huge reduction in local storage needs.
