I think there will be a photo-related announcement (or why keep the booth secret?) but it may not be one that's exciting outside that field.

There should be at least ONE exciting announcement--probably the PowerMacs.

Alongside that could be some lesser announcements, and I fear PowerBooks may fit that description. The BIG PowerBook news is Intel, and it's too soon for that.

I do NOT however think the 12" PowerBook is going away without something to replace it. If the 12 IS going, then I expect some new compact portable in January at the latest. Maybe a new 12" PB, maybe a 13", maybe something ultraportable and low-end: a new smaller iBook. But SOMETHING to meet the ultracompact market.

If whatever that is is NOT a PowerBook, then maybe the 15" PB will gain a lower-end, cheaper version... or the iBook will gain a higher-end version. Something to fill in the gap of having no low-end 12".

The simplest thing of course would simply be that the 12" is not changing at all :) Or that it IS changing, but wasn't ready for Wednesday. Maybe in a month there will be a new 12" to join its updated siblings.

why a month why not next week these weekly events are fun!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

I would love to see a more pro iphoto. I love how iphoto organizes stuff, I abhor how it handles media and edits files.

You are probably right...I hope so. I need something to watch tomarrow while studying for my mid-terms. :p
I'd personally rather find a cute coed to watch while studying, but hey, each to their own. ;)

Why do you say it is too early for a mactel powerbook. They could put a Centrino chip inside... They already have the OS... They have been working on it for probably greater than 6 months. I think it would be smart... put a powerbook out there with intel inside. Work out the issues. Everyone thinks Yonah is a the next powerbook, but powerbook is so far behind and over the past 3 years (yes, it has been 3 years), processing power has gone from 1.0 GHz to 1.67 GHz. I don't think apple can wait until next year sometime. They have billions of dollars and have hires bunches of people. I am sure Steve is hot to trot. Wouldn't this just blow everyone away. Save Yonah (Rev B) for the spring, and Meron in the fall 06.

Just me 2 cents worth.

At least what ever PowerBook is going to be revealed tomorrow, will be the last lame update.

Afterwards, its on to bigger and better - Intel processor - which will enable the PowerBook to catch up with the competition.

PowerMac upgrades are going to be interesting, there is quite a lot of potential for them with the newest G5 processors.

In the near future, I wouldn't be surprised to see a webcam in some of the Apple Displays ( but then, privacy issues may occur, businesses may not want webcams in their offices ). PowerMacs definitely won't contain webcams or FrontRow.
How could they, they don't come with screens, and the usual place for a "tower" like that is on the floor, who likes to stare at someone elses feet? Gross.

Why would they drop that? If I had a Powermac I'd need it (then again I do have an iMac, but still...)

i went into the javits center yesterday to pee and i didn't even notice anything about apple or a photo show. Wasn't really lookin' though.

Thanks for sharing. Betting Apple will not be in the men's room though. They may, however, be in the crapper if nothing seriously nice comes out of this event tomorrow. :D

Well, I know it's really handy being able to wirelessly network my Powerbook to a desktop PC, so I really can see how having an Aiport card in a PowerMac would be useful (I hope I can get one some day :D ). It would also make machine placement more flexible, especially for those of us w/cable modems. So I can't see it going completely away.
