Do you remember when Tim Cook said something along the lines of, "It'll be like the days before christmas, the anticipation"... well it's Christmas Eve and I'm excited...

... let's hope it's not the equivalent of your Nan's "squishy" present which is obviously a jumper you don't want.

Any drinking game this time guys? :D

Here's my list:

"It will change people's lives."
"Amazing"
"We are very about passionate x"
"Isn't that incredible?"
"Courage" (well, this is just a joke :p, but whoever has to come up there and tell all the pro users that their most used ports are now gone from the rMBP will need a lot of it.)

I disagree, a true Apple professional/fan will never be impressed with Microsoft offerings. Only the 'new' Apple customer could be swayed by the shallow front of a Windows 'product'. Just because a Ford Focus may have a new 'something' designed to it will never make it better than a Ferrari! And Mac users will know that they have the Ferrari!

A professional that only sticks to Apple because it's Apple can hardly be called a professional. That's just a blind fanboy. A professional will purchase the best tool for the job, whatever brand it's stamped with.
Also, Ferrari's are pretty known these days to burst into flames. Not the best brand to compare with.

Rubbing my hands together for the glut of Retina MacBook Pros under AppleCare showing up on EBay.

Right now a brand new in box 15" Mid 2015 i7 2.5GHZ Quad Core with 16GB Ram and 256 Flash is listed for "buy it now" at $1599, so if I find a good auction I could make out really really well.

2 1/2 years ago I picked up a 13" Mid 2012 for $580 and put in an SSD and 16GB Ram.

I'll sell that for $500 today and add $900 or less and get a nice upgrade.

Unless what they announce today blows my mind, that's my plan.

No "Magic" or "Magical?" Pfffttt...:p;):p

The stuff Microsoft showed this week, especially the Surface Studio and VR are exactly the sort of products Apple should be showing. Instead there'll be a reheated underpowered Macbook with a pointless little screen where keys should be.

MS are absolutely blowing Apple out of the water in the pro market now. It's comically one sided.
I agree with you, there is nothing new with Apple, whats the purpose of the MacBook ?? I can understand if they made something like the surface pro but why the Macbook !!!!! Macbook Air and Macbook Pro wasn't enough ? I really hope that we will be surprised eith the event but most likley we will get disappointed again, but who cares a lot will buy their products anyway, including me

A true professional does not look at brands....... then there are the one with their heads in Apple's b*tt, but those are hardly professional. (A pro pick the best tool for the job no matter who makes it).

There's no such thing as an Apple Professional..... :S

Are you referring to the niche machine starting at $3000 for an i5 introduced yesterday? It's not going to sell in significant quantities.

Professionals don't have time to lose with unreliable hardware; the disaster of the Surface Book should be a reminder that Microsoft is still very much Microsoft.
It is as niche as the 3000$ Mac Pro / iMac 5k, don't see your point. (or are you arguing that Apple can sell outdated tech by 2 generation at high price while microsoft cannot sell current generation at the same price?)
Now surfacebook might have suffered some theething problems, but it is not like today's macs are like the old ones.

Might have got it right if people get so emotional, I am an Apple fan, but my head is out of theyr b*tt

Can someone with web/networking expertise please explain to me the point of this? I always feel like Apple is just being dramatic and this is a marketing ploy "taking down the store" I would think a giant tech company would be able to flip a switch and add new products without having to take down the website for hours. I don't know any other company who does this and its a tad bit pretentious and annoying unless it is legitimately necessary. Not to mention the amount of sales they lose out on with people looking to buy something not related to what is being released.

I've already explained this. Post #7.

And regarding losing money, they'll recuperate that in a few hours within it going back online.

After yesterday.... it really needs to be something special.

Some of that "amazing product in the pipeline" seriously needs to get out!

Will you buy the $3000 Surface Studio that doesn't come with an SSD standard?

Placed my order for the new machines yesterday. Looking forward to them.
I didn't do what I normally do...

...Go into an Apple Store and ask to order 20 of whatever they're releasing the next day for delivery on the day after.

It's become a bit of a "Here comes Jeffy... let the new person deal with him, and we'll watch the fun..." thing for the employees there.

September 10 (or whenever it was...)
Jeffy: "Hi, I'd like to get 20 iPhone 6S+ 128GB phones for delivery later today. I want to be sure that I have the newest phone available."
New Apple Guy: (Eyes looking around nervously) Well, the iPhone 6S+... ummm... 128GB is incredible. Did you say you needed them today, and want the latest ones?"
Other Apple Employees are snickering...
Jeffy: "Yeah, I don't want to wait another day for new ones... I want them today. Do you know when they'll have new ones?" (By now, I'm stifling a laugh)
New Apple Guy: (Starting to catch on...) "Yeah, we're the last to know about these things."
Jeffy: "I'm just having fun. I'll probably be here next Friday to get the new iPhone 7+"

It's all good-natured fun, and now the new guy is one of the ones that's in on the joke.

Will you buy the $3000 Surface Studio that doesn't come with an SSD standard?
Is that too much different then what Apple does? I'm not defending it, because I think for that price they should have included an SSD, but they're not the only ones offering an expensive AIO that using a hard drive.
