Maybe part of the deal?

Five bucks says this came out of the deal to integrate Twitter and FB into iOS.

You scratch my back and I'll add a useless feature to our store that nobody cares about. Makes perfect sense.

... incredibly pointless. I wish we could move past everything needing Facebook and Twitter integration.

Yes, because you'll be " " much closer to getting one with tweets and wall post... social media for Apple products makes no sense. Apple Store FTW :apple:

Hey people - look at that:

Yep - just registered for this... :p

I'm so sick of Facebook and Twitter attention wh&^%$ing!

Seriously this Facebook and Twitter thing is polluting everything everywhere...

You can't watch a TV show anymore without those idiotic Twitter and Facebook pop ups wanting you to "LIKE" something.

This is just so sickening... I'm a bit disappointed in Apple for wanting to be apart of this Attention seeking group...

You'd think they were better than this...

Sorry but Tweeting and Facebooking is just ruining the social skill of so many people... Morons saying "Please like my statement". WTF?

Sometimes I don't get why the world is so upside down... then I look at those people who are so needy, and it's all clear... they love the attention and Facebook is the perfect outlet for them.

This just smacks of greed on the part of Apple. Get their fanboy drones to give them free advertising...they can't be 'unfriended' because they don't have any friends to begin with. Harsh but true.

Is there a movement AGAINST these organizations? I am sick of pop ups in games, TV, internet etc. IF I WANT IT I WILL JOIN... I don't so respect that and yet they don't, they spam you everywhere you go online, on TV etc.

It's a repulsive sickness in our time... everyone is blinding sharing everything with everyone...

I find it funny that some of the most outdated products are the only one who got the social networking buttons. Hey everyone, look at the not updated in a long time Mac Pro or iPod Classic! :p

Hrm, wonder what two items are getting an upgrade next? As in relatively soon.

Do we really think the two things that are closest to being 86'd are the only things getting Facebook? No, they practiced updating those items, and had to take it down for some reason. Or accidentally had the new stuff go up and nobody noticed quickly enough, and it was easier to put in the old info than put back up the old pages.

Yeah ... the first thing I want is my friends to think I'm a show off / jerk mac user who tries to brag what I have.

Except facebook has no special integration in iOS. And really the Twitter integration is pretty lame.

Apple is actually behind the times in social media marketing. There is no official Apple Facebook page or Twitter feed, it's all fake accounts. Maybe they've actually gotten someone in there that understands the importance of having a SMM presence. As much as they spend on marketing, I'm surprised that it's taken them this long!

Apple is "testing the waters" to see if the market demand is high enough to continue the Mac Pro line and the iPod Classic, two products which may be on the chopping block.

I am serious enough when I say this, that I mean it.

It also must be noted that the Mac Pro and the iPod Classic are the two lowest selling products that Apple offers at the moment, by volume...so this could just be an effort by Apple to "drum up" sales and sell remaining stock and inventory.

They do have Twitter accounts for iTunes (@iTunesMusic, @iTunesMovies, @iTunesTV, @iTunesPodcasts, and @iTunesTrailers) and the App Store (@AppStore).

And there's also an iTunes Facebook page that has 16 million "followers".

So they're not as "behind the times" as you might think.

Classic iPod yes, MacPro you can bet your yoyo's it's not going to be EOL as a whole line. It's a PRO machine... People actually use it.

I wish there was a +2 button.

I am equally sick of seeing Twitter and Facebook buttons and ads everywhere. I get why advertisers would find them useful, but "polluting" is exactly the right word, and to me whenever I see (especially...) the word Facebook outside of Facebook itself I just think it looks unprofessional and kind of ... tacky. Also adding their clutter to an Apple page seems very un-Apple like.
