Seems odd that they chose (what I would assume are) the two least selling products to integrate this with first. Woooo I love being turned into free advertisement. //goes to put on name brand clothes

Disapointed but will move on.

1. Apple discontinues their Xserve and other enterprise hardware. (Apple's solution; buy a Mac Mini or Mac Pro)
2. Final Cut X removing features pro's used for years (Apples solutions, use the old version).
3. Mac Pro and iPod Classic, 2 products that haven't been updated when they were suppose to. (Most Likely getting fazed out.....just like the white Macbook.)
4. Lion adding goofy features such as Resume.

It's very clear that Apple is caring less and less about their Pro customers; people that actually uses these products day in and day out to make money. It's clear to me that they are focusing on their consumer products. This is all fine and well, but Apple is going to lose their prestige with multimedia professionals. I think professionals could still use Adobe products on Macs, they are not very intensive and generally don't require high end specs, but Video and Audio recording engineers are sure going to be pissed off.

I haven't updated to Lion specifically because of the lack of support with professional software such as Pro Tools and issues with audio interfaces. Resume also seems like a major pain, even though you can turn it off, it still seems to be an annoyance.

They do have Twitter accounts for iTunes (@iTunesMusic, @iTunesMovies, @iTunesTV, @iTunesPodcasts, and @iTunesTrailers) and the App Store (@AppStore).

And there's also an iTunes Facebook page that has 16 million "followers".

So they're not as "behind the times" as you might think.

Yes, those are for iTunes and the app store, not the company itself. I follow them all on Twitter and Facebook, but the company needs an official presence for the corporation, not just these products. Hey, they can hire me as their social media consultant if they need one! I haven't graduated yet, but I am working on an MBA with a concentration in marketing and social media marketing, I'll be looking for a job in a few years!

I wish there was a +2 button.

I am equally sick of seeing Twitter and Facebook buttons and ads everywhere. I get why advertisers would find them useful, but "polluting" is exactly the right word, and to me whenever I see (especially...) the word Facebook outside of Facebook itself I just think it looks unprofessional and kind of ... tacky. Also adding their clutter to an Apple page seems very un-Apple like.

Porco, not only do you have an awesome avatar but a name, I love that film. :)

Nice to meet you and glad to know I'm not the only one who's getting an allergic reaction to all those pesky invading headlines everywhere.

:apple:

Five bucks says this came out of the deal to integrate Twitter and FB into iOS.

You scratch my back and I'll add a useless feature to our store that nobody cares about. Makes perfect sense.

It's the only reason I can see Apple agreeing to something like this.

FB and Twitter are becoming those annoying people you can't avoid.

This is great! Truly revolutionary and innovative. Only Apple could pull this off so elegantly.

Do I need to say that, Apple have just proved that they do not understand social in the slightest. Attempting to get your users to "spam" their followers with ads, seems below Apple. I am surprised that Steve would have approve this.

OOOOOOOO look i got a 5K Mac Pro! And I want to share that on Facebook! Yay!
Now I can just sit back and watch all the unfriending.

Since the new integration - Zuckerberg hasn't bought a mac yet. I keep waiting for a status update!

You: "Mac Pro only $4,999"

Your Facebook friends: "Why are you telling me this?"

*Unfriend*

hahahaha seriously, i know maybe 2 other people that would require a mac pro. besides that who would pay that much today for yesterdays technology

Maybe they're the next products to be updated, therefore :apple: wants to test how people use the function?

I would have to agree that it seems likely that these two products got this 'feature' since the pages are about to be removed from the store permanently. If they are about to be killed, why not experiment with them and humiliate the corpses?

(Of course, the pages could be removed either to kill both products or to have them both reborn quite dramatically. I'm betting on the former though).

Click "Select" on a product in the store. "The page you're looking for cannot be found".

Update?

EDIT: It works again.

I also switched off ping on a constant level; also FB and Twitter produce too unchanneld noise soi spend more time in MR then over there.
Can someone develop a plugin and remove those buttons ?

So... you're dumping FCP (was $1400) for Autodesk Smoke ($15000), and the only reason you're doing that is because of "thunder bold"?

Ah quite likely he's dumping FCP because of FCP X, which isn't suited for professionals.

And honestly, who cares what Tundra Ball is really called (note the deliberate misspelling by me! oooh). It's not like anyone is using it (it's not even available on the Pro machine), so it has hardly earned enough fame for people to know how to spell it correctly.

Given Apple's penchant for strange names, Thunder Bold is as good as any (Mac Book Pro, Bonjour, iPad, Grand Central somethingorother, etc.):p
