Just hit 20 hours, nothing from Apple.

I really don't mind waiting, but the lack of response from Apple is pretty disheartening. We all know something has gone wrong, I just don't understand the lack of acknowledgement on Apple's side. I would feel much better if I had received a "We are having technical issues with our Up-To-Date program, you will have a code in XX time" email. It's not that hard to send out a mass email - Then again - They are approving all request "manually". (According to what others have posted)
Uh, Huh?

No confirmation email was even sent to say they received our request and our working on it.

iMac and Macbook Pro

I bought my Macbook Pro after June 11, so I get a free copy of ML...will it show as "purchased" in the Mac App Store for my iMac so I can download it on there for free as well? Or do I need to buy it on my iMac and get it for free on my Macbook?

20 hours later and no code for me either.

Friggin' Apple. Is this the way they treat their customers?

At this point, why not just let us buy the damn software and then refund us?

I have a contact at Apple corporate that I just fired an email off to, but I don't expect any help.

Apple didn't have to give us a free Mountain Lion download, I don't see any other companies doing this..

I believe it will show as purchased, but probably best to ask someone who has received there email yet, I'm still waiting for mine :(

I understand what you mean bro, but one thing is Apple legally giving it to me or me taking it away from apple before they nicely give to me.

I really would hate to steal it by using some other source. Apple has been nice and helpful to me, I'm gonna continue being loyal to them.

If for some reason my application is denied well that's something else, I bought my MacBook pro the 7th of this month so I shouldn't worry about it, I'm just gonna wait til it's available for me.

You wouldn't be stealing it though. you have a legal right to it.
All said and done you can wait wait for it if you like but I'm using it now.

PS... dictation is a little hit and miss :) good luck with your wait... hope it comes for you soon.

I respect you for waiting. I am also waiting.

success - finally

after my 'coupon code' failed as "already used" around 10 a.m. on launch day, I sent an email to uptodatesupport@apple.com about this problem. They sent a new content code at midnight last night, and I downloaded ML overnight, and installed it this morning without a hitch in about 15 mins on my Retina MBP.

So far so good. Except images online are even more blurry now in ML on the Retina display. Type in Safari looks gorgeous. Jpegs & pngs look like s!ht.

I just emailed them on the address you just provided asking about the problem :L

now its official 25 hours and counting ....still not even a peep from apple. I am beginning to wonder if its holiday in Cuppertino as we speak.

Requested initial code just after up to date page went live yesterday, received the code about an hour later at 14:36 BST. Tried this code around 18:30 to be told it had been used before.

Emailed apple support and got a rely within the hour saying a new code would automatically be sent within 24 hours.

Received a new code at 11:46 BST today, can't test until later as at work.

I'm UK and Mac was purchased from online store.

Guys, just got in contact with someone from Apple, they checked my request and said there was no record of me making one... I believe there must have been a problem with the servers not recording which could be why none of us have had our emails yet.

I suggest you either, email them (go to the Mac App Store part on the Support page) and drop them an email checking your request or just fill out the information again on the Up-To-Date page.. Your choice.

Hope this helps, I guess with all the people downloading it there has to be some type of problem..

Approved but still waiting...

Just called an apple support guy and he said I was approved but that he did not see a code associated with my approval. No problem, he said - I should receive an email within 48 hours. The good thing, he said, was that I am approved for the program.

I know it's not something to freak out over, but it does seem like a botched operation. I would think it would be easy to avoid in the first place and fix now...hmmmmm.

Today after almost 24h with no reply, I decided to redo the request.

Now they have the MacBook Air option.

I couldn't finish the request because the serial number was already in use. Of course, I did it yesterday. :)

Well, I'll keep waiting... :(

Has anyone else waiting as long as this for a code? :(

Since 10:30am yesterday.. Its 9:18 am now.. I put in my code the first time and called apple around 4:30pm she said she did not see any update application in for me. so I did it again and have been waiting ever since.. can anyone say Torrent!

Uh, Huh?

I called yesterday and got someone in less than a minute who informed me of the issue. I also sent an email and got a reply in about 30-40 minutes.

I'd rather they dedicate their resources to fixing the issue.

Maybe put up a message on the page you request the code that they are having issues. Beyond that to me is a waste. If they identified all the effected users rather then mass emailing an XX time. I'm sure they'd just mass email the actual working redeem codes.

My registration email for the forum got here a lot faster than my code did. I haven't gotten it yet and I requested it yesterday morning at around 10 AM.

I live in Puerto Rico.

I had a Sony Xperia Arc (Original) and it took me over 3 months to upgrade to the latest firmware, and all it added was a 3D camera function...

Now I buy a MBA, and the new Mountain Lion software won't work as I haven't been given a stupid code...

surely Apple could just automatically send a code to anybody who bought a Mac from them (as they have their details) or anyone who recently registered a mac during the setup process...
