I requested my ML code yesterday morning and got it in 10 minutes. When I tried it, it failed. I called Apple's 800 # & they said it is a "known issue". I was told that new codes were going out and I'd get it anywhere within 12 to 72 hours (big range, I know). I got the new code at 4:30 this AM and will try again later today. Let's see what happens!

Sweet, just got a reply from someone from Apple (I must say there email support is fast!), from just submitting another claim (my other one was unsuccessful for some reason), she replied and said I was approved. Looks like they approve you quickly but sending out the actual code can take up to 72hours...

Just a waiting game.. As I said before I highly recommend you check to see if your first claim was successful (or you could just be waiting for nothing!)

screw this

I'll let you children keep on worrying about your silly codes, and waiting and for it not working, i've been reading the forums and all i read is complaining, im in the same boat also haven't received my code yet, no email or anything, and i also have the 2012 pro, but i realised the situation will only get worse before it gets better i will wait until Monday and call Apple and by then it shouldn't be as bad as it is now, in the meantime i'll keep running windows 7 bootcamp because i hate Lion so much

I called yesterday and got someone in less than a minute who informed me of the issue. I also sent an email and got a reply in about 30-40 minutes...

Interesting.
I have not called yet, as they have not failed to send the code within the 24hr window they claim, but I did send an email to CS expressing my concerns. I received a response 6 hours later that said my request was "processing" and I will get it "soon". There was no time-frame specified and no admittance of a problem. I see what you're saying, but I think SOME communication from Apple should have happened - Whether on the website or a blanket email.

Again, I agree, this is not a HUGE deal. This is all for a code for "free" $20 copy of OS X. At the same time, it's not like the release of OS X was a surprise and I would think those who purchased a Mac in the last month and a half would not get lowest priority.

Today after almost 24h with no reply, I decided to redo the request.

Now they have the MacBook Air option.

I couldn't finish the request because the serial number was already in use. Of course, I did it yesterday. :)

Well, I'll keep waiting... :(

Weird. I could re-do my request with the same serial and all. Re-did it for the same reason, the added Air option.

Maybe that means that they deleted my earlier request :S

Just hit 24 hours for my code, but if you read the up-to-date page

I have been waiting 24 hours also and still have not gotten a email. I think that they did not get around approving my machine for ML on my serial until about 8 hours later yesterday, so i am thinking 24 hours from this point. I think that Apple could have executed this better two days ago, with letting users who purchased machines in the last month, get a code 8 hours before the launch and then it could be used right away when the OS came up on the App Store.

I am patiently waiting for my code, so i download new Safari on Lion to work with and updating my music from CD with iTunes match, updated my Apple i apps and tuned the machine, while i wait for delivery.

:apple:

Well at least this delay gave me time to do a disk clone and set up time machine before going through the install. I had been putting this off for a while now. Figure that's more effective than complaining and it's a good thing to do before going through a major upgrade.

Submitted my first claim at 10PM China Standard Time... I didn't get anything for 23 hours so I resubmitted and for some reason it let me resubmit... odd.

This is my first Apple machine since an iMac w/ OS X Cheetah around a decade ago and this debacle hasn't exactly impressed me at all...

Meh.. I'm in vacation in China and I wasn't planning to download it until I got back to New York. I'm fine with the wait I guess, but in a few days when I get off my flight and get home to see that nothing has been sent... I won't be a happy camper :p

Mountain lions are snappy...

I'm trying hard but it seems I can't get this cat...

Where is their email support?

For something like this I would much rather use email support, but I can't seem to find it. It could be I'm still half asleep, what are the steps to access email support? I just get phone everywhere I look.

...

25+ hours and not a word from Apple. This is my first Mac and I'm pretty disappointed with their execution and their inability to post anything related to this on their website.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I received a code yesterday morning and it didn't work. I reached out to the support via email and they said I would receive a replacement code in 24-48 hours. It's already been 24 hours.

You wouldn't be stealing it though. you have a legal right to it.
All said and done you can wait wait for it if you like but I'm using it now.

PS... dictation is a little hit and miss :) good luck with your wait... hope it comes for you soon.

If my math isn't wrong, I think you are not using it since it is a app store download, it will ask you for the password of whoever's account that downloaded that copy under that specific account. Those files have a particular ownership signature that can be quite hard to crack.

still waiting for the code. though just got an email from apple advertising mountain lion's availability.

download it today..... ><

Funny I can get 4 emails about OS X mountain lion is here but no code

I think that Apple should have waited about three days before sending out the email saying OS X Mountain Lion is here. To go with our best notebook yet spam sent to customers. If they can send out 4 of these via email is 24 hours, it seems that they should have the man power to get the codes sent in emails :)

Makes Apple look foolish and non-responsive to customers needs and goals......

Working on updated my other applications as i wait for Apple to send a code.

:(

For the love of....

Apple has now sent a HTML email advertising Mountain Lion! They can send this but they can't send our redemption codes! Adding insult to injury!

Again - being impatient I know but I have to say I don't really understand why it's taking this long to issue codes especially as the telephone peeps I have spoken to have confirmed that my claim has been approved. Surely click a button - send the code?

Second verse, same as the first

I got my second code at about 4 this morning. Just plugged it in and got the code has already been used message. Called Apple support and was given an unhelpful canned response. "Please wait 48 to 72 hours". He couldn't tell me when the clock started.

after 24 hours, still no code. called the support and said they got my claim but it can take up to 72 hours. wtf...

Same answer here in Brazil.

Yesterday they said 24h
Today 72h

Why not a 30 day trial as a lot of other softwares?

Shame!
