Also waited 24+ hours for mine!!! They have to more days to go before they can do anything... OMFG i hate this ****, why cant they even sent me the god damn email !? When you can buy it on AppStore and you get it instant, but nope for us that just used many dollars on one, no we should ofc wait LOONNG time.........

I can see Apple's plan here. Advertise that everyone who buys a Mac after June 11th will get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion. Thus people won't wait until Mountain Lion is released to buy a new Mac. When Mountain Lion releases, they take their sweet time sending out redeem codes. People get fed up waiting and buy Mountain Lion anyway as the price is quite low. It's a win win for Apple.

holy crap, seriously? You've gotten two codes so far? This doesn't help things...
Truth be told Apple doesn't give a crap what we think, no amount of complaining will do anything. hello large corporations.

Edit: I'm 25+ hours and still empty handed

Two codes, but the first didn't work. So technically just one. Although I should've tested the code before I replied.

They gave me a code for OS X Server!!!!! Seriously???!!!

When I redeem it says OS X Server requires OS X 10.8 which I obviously still don't have...

Back to square one..

If I end up with OS X Server for free as well I'll be happy. It is in my purchases tab. This is crazy though.

Maybe they'll send me a code for final cut pro next.

BTW I never had a server Mac so unsure why they sent this.

I wish the same happened to me lol, but alas, no

Just called Apple since I've been waiting for 24 hrs now and they said we must wait 72 hrs.. he said by Saturday i should have it.. really? Damn.. i'm really tempted to just buy it.. Anyone who has the key working know if its machine specific?

Also i have a feeling that once i chose to buy it.. Ill get an email from them with my key.

Been waiting since yesterday AM too. Have to say I'm anxious but I can wait. Having a blast reading this thread though... You guys are devout. Makes the wait much easier. :p

Apple didn't have to give us a free Mountain Lion download, I don't see any other companies doing this..

I believe it will show as purchased, but probably best to ask someone who has received there email yet, I'm still waiting for mine :(

Microsoft does this? Never seen it....

I don't know that it's Microsoft but I got a free upgrade with the HP laptop I bought before windows 7 launched.

This is my first Mac and the computer is great but the Apple experience not so much.

Same exact thing here.

Guys, as I said before check that it was successfully submitted, I got my claim reference number but someone from Apple said they could find no record of it... email or redo the forum.

I just submitted my 3rd claim so far... with the same serial number...weirdly enough, it's letting me...

I submitted my first claim yesterday morning...then another one yesterday night... and now, the 3rd... Still no email from Apple...

I emailed uptodatesupport@apple.com exactly 1 hour ago, trying to see if my claim was approved or if I'm just waiting pointlessly... No reply yet either...

(Anyone knows if there's any other way to check if the claim was approved?)

PS: I, too, was too exited to download and install ML. But for those who are considering just buying it instead (after all, it's just $20)...think about this; Apple hypes ML. Makes you want it. Want it bad. Offers you a free upgrade when you purchase a Mac. So you purchase now instead of later. And then, when ML is out, makes you wait to receive the free code. Or pay for it and get it instantly. Would you still want to give in and offer them your hard-earned $20? I wouldn't...even though I might spend that much on a burger... just for the sheer possibility of my conspiracy theory being true. (Well, also because patience is a virtue :p )

Could this whole fiasco be ill-preparation on Apple's part? Perhaps. But then again, for a company like Apple, that's not exactly acceptable.

I just emailed macappstore_english_uk_support@apple.com, and got very fast and useful replies, luckily my 3rd attempt was successful, theres probably another way of checking but emailing is probably the easiest.. Well you could ring up. A

nd I completely agree - however Apple never prepare things very well... e.g. never having enough products and running out at every launch!

Handy tip for newbies. Add your location country/state to your profile so that people know exactly where you are and if the situation is local or not. It also saves people posting questions about where you are from all the time.

<--- I'm here and my new code arrived five hours ago.

+12Hours and no code yet. I only have a reference number that appeared in the webpage after completing the form, I haven't got it via mail. I guess I'll keep waiting for my code.

Agreed. But again, for a company like Apple, this shouldn't be acceptable.

Updated mine for the time zone. I'm now 27 hours out from initially submitting the form, but have not received even one email from apple. I was able to resubmit the form at 6 hours and again at 9.5 hours, but when I tried at 11 hours out, it said that my serial number was already used. I now have 3 different claim reference numbers.

Because it let me use the same serial number, apparently the first two times I submitted the form were not successful. This is despite apple claiming that the form submission WAS successful- hence giving me the first two claim reference numbers.

It might be that users need to keep submitting the request until apple rejects the serial number.

+24hrs for me and still no code...

and the worst is that the system didn't send out email confirmation whether the application is received or not. I got the confirmation code when registered but stupid enough not to jolt them down =(

lesson learned

follow up...

Called Apple about 26 hours after submitting, they said I was approved but codes can take 72 hours to be sent out... but then he said it gave him an option to "re-send" my code now. I said sure! Not quite sure how they can re-send something that was never sent in the first place... :D

He told me it can still take a bit of time for that to go out but I should receive it soon hopefully... That was over an hour ago...

I'm somewhat at a loss as to why these hoops are necessary, in the first place?

Shortly after paying for my 2012 MacBook Pro, which is was the first machine I've purchased new in about 2 years, the Mac App Store had the most recent editions of the iLife apps listed in my 'purchased' tab.

Why couldn't the very same process be used for the Up-to-Date program?

It's not as though Apple is unaware of my purchase, since it was made through their online store…

It's not as though the purchase wasn't linked to my AppleID…

(I'm not interested in installing an x.0 release, I just want to ensure that my claim is processed before the Up-to-Date program ends, next month, given the way these sorts of things can slip through the cracks when life gets crazy.)

PS - Receiving this twice (at home and work) was super-irritating, given that no email confirmation was sent from the Up-to-Date submission:

Emailed up-to-date from two different email accounts about a hour ago

Emailed the up-to-date support account about a hour ago from two different email accounts, have not received a reply from any account.

Waiting patiently, upgraded my Microsoft Office and fixed my iCloud accounts, looking of other updates to perform while I wait.

5.5 hours and no code. Come on Apple, this is **** !

Dude. Calm down, you are freaking out on an online forum about not getting your computers OS upgrade code.

Sheesh.

As far as ML is concerned, it looks really cool but I'll wait a little bit until they get all of the small bugs sorted out.
