I just submitted my 3rd claim so far... with the same serial number...weirdly enough, it's letting me...
I submitted my first claim yesterday morning...then another one yesterday night... and now, the 3rd... Still no email from Apple...
I emailed
uptodatesupport@apple.com exactly 1 hour ago, trying to see if my claim was approved or if I'm just waiting pointlessly... No reply yet either...
(Anyone knows if there's any other way to check if the claim was approved?)
PS: I, too, was too exited to download and install ML. But for those who are considering just buying it instead (after all, it's just $20)...think about this; Apple hypes ML. Makes you want it. Want it bad. Offers you a free upgrade when you purchase a Mac. So you purchase now instead of later. And then, when ML is out, makes you wait to receive the free code. Or pay for it and get it instantly. Would you still want to give in and offer them your hard-earned $20? I wouldn't...even though I might spend that much on a burger... just for the sheer possibility of my conspiracy theory being true. (Well, also because patience is a virtue

Could this whole fiasco be ill-preparation on Apple's part? Perhaps. But then again, for a company like Apple, that's not exactly acceptable.
