Emailed Apple Support and after a couple of emails I got this:

"Hi xxxx,

It's nice to hear from you again. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to work with me on this and for providing me with the information that I had requested.

I have some good news! I was able to verify that we have received your submission for this and that you should receive your code to redeem "Mountain Lion" in the next 24-48 hours.

Please let me know if you receive this or not as I do want to ensure that you receive this. I'm eagerly awaiting your reply. Take care."

Nice to hear from them but another 24-48 hours. FML

Lesson for Newb appreciated!

It's in the lower-lefthand corner of the system Print dialog (it's been there since the early days of OS X -- IIRC, the 'Web Receipts' folder action was added in 10.4, with the advent of Automator). The only applications that I've encountered that don't show the 'PDF' submenu are those from Adobe.

Thank you oh so much for the mini-tutorial. :) ! I'm discovering new little/big tips/tricks everyday. This was so much easier than doing a screen-clip and moving it to the folder manually.

Will be glad when my email arrives with ML redeem code. and I get to add that receipt to the folder as well. I mean if it works for me. LOL

Backup completed. Waiting Patiently for ML install capabilities now.

Well, there's your problem: you're either submitting it from the future, or the past… since we're currently under Daylight Savings Time, here, in the present.

Goodnight, future boy!

OK i just double checked when i submitted it it was at 12:04PM and 6:20 PM YESTERDAY Still no email and CDT/CST what ever, Centeral Time Happy now?

I called Apple yesterday and they resent my code and said to wait 24 hours

24 hours later, no e-mail:eek:

Called Apple and they resent it again, and that I have to wait 72 hours now

I just talked to Applecare and he said it was a bad idea to resend the request. Basically, you were somewhere in the middle of the line to get your email codes. But, you took yourself out of the line, and went all the way to the very back of it. Now, if I understand this correctly, you'll have to wait even longer than you would have before.

Not in the least.

You've thoroughly disproved my motivation for tricking a bunch of Libyans into giving me a case of plutonium, in exchange for a 'bomb' made out of old pinball machine parts.

Can anyone who's code has work explain how this process is supposed to work. Does it redeem a copy of mountian lion exclusively or is a $20 credit redemption of app store money? If the later I rather buy and be reimbursed later and not deal with 72 hour wait and et to work on my computer over the weekend. I have it for a month and not installed anything in it waiting for a fresh install of the new os

28 hours, still no code.

I applied around 7:00 AM MST yesterday and never received any confirmation or a code. On a whim, I applied again around the same time today (which I thought was impossible), and once again haven't received a code. Should I contact Apple with my confirmation number, or is it too soon? And what email address or form should I contact them through?

I don't have a code, but from what has been said, it will redeem a copy of mountain lion on your account.

Well if this is the logic then shouldn't I have my code by now, seeing as I signed up right at the start time and haven't re-submitted?

I should be at the front of the line

It will be a code specifically for Mountain Lion, not for 20 dollars.

Don't buy it because they will not give you a refund. This is what will happen: You buy it. Then, they send you a code. Now, they don't have to give you a refund because they already provided the code that they promised you.

Me as well. I don't understand the hold up.

I applied yesterday morning (25 July) at 0630 PST and got my code a few minutes later but it was already used.

I just got my new code (26 July) at 1115 PST but I'm at work so I will have to wait until I get home to test it.

I only applied the one time but I did send Apple a nasty email about an hour ago but haven't heard anything back. I doubt there is a connection between my email and getting the code, probably just coincidence.

maybe they are trying to figure out the screwed up redemption codes that they sent a few days ago first, and then handle us later... sigh

or even a worst case scenario they are gonna send it to all of us waiting at the same time and then we're all gonna be stuck waiting longer due to the heavy traffic... Apple use to be cool

Well they're starting to experience some late hiccups.

I put mine in early yesterday morning and have yet to hear back.

I'd be ticked off it weren't for the fact that I already have a dev GM installed.

are all the people that didn't receive a code in Canada? cause that seems to be the pattern i'm seeing

Email one arrives with a locked PDF.
Email two arrives with a code to unlock the PDF.
Unlocked PDF has promo code.
Go to App Store and click redeem.
Paste code into field.
Account login pops up asking you for your password.
Mountain Lion authorizes and starts downloading as an "app" (probably jump to Launchpad to show it in progress)
Run the app after d/l
Restart (my MBP froze before it did this automatically and I had to hard restart)
Wait 30+ minutes for install.
Done.

Mountain Lion is then available as an "app" in your purchased history of the App Store so you can download it again.

I got a new password for the code email about 15 minutes ago, but have yet to receive the email with the actual code PDF. Great.

Me as well. I don't understand the hold up.

I submitted within a minute or two of the rebate page going live. There were many others who submitted upwards of 10 hours after I did and received their codes in a short period while I did not receive anything. There is no line or it's much more complicated than a simple line.

Interesting Development Re Up To Date Program

Folks I just threw the head up and went to buy Mountain Lion as I was giving up on the up to date program delivering before I head off on Saturday for a week. Interestingly having registered the serial of my MBR over 24 hours back I went to the App store and purchased in frustration only to find that on buying it told me that I had ALREADY purchased but I could download for free again. The purchase date is showing some two weeks back in or around the date my MBR was shipped. Hope this helps some or maybe I have just been lucky......... :)

probably just the AppleCare guy guessing. I was also one of the few who submitted a couple days ago, when the page went live. So, I have no idea. I'm not a happy camper.

Honestly I thought the code would have come by now (its been about 30 hours), which is somewhat disappointing, but everyone needs to calm down. It really is not a big deal, you've been using your computer without ML for how long now, I really doubt any of the new ML features will make or break you in terms of functionality in the next 72 hours.

That being said, I do think Apple should at least change their website to say codes could take up to 72 hours (not 24) to be received, considering if you call in this is what they are telling you.

Also, I would advise against resubmitting the form, the customer service rep I spoke with on the phone said that you will receive an email from Apple whether you have been accepted or not. Meaning you will either get a code to download ML from the app store, or you will get a refusal saying you did not qualify for the program.

Edit: Additionally, I think Apple is controlling giving out the codes on purpose so as to not put a huge strain on their servers. Tons of people all over the world are downloading ML at all times of the day, 4 GB file each time, think about it.

just spoke with apple regarding 2 ML upgrade codes and my requests were "received" & "approved" and that the emails have/should have gone out, and the representative resent one email but it has yet to arrive.... so something is definently slowed down on apple's side...

What the hell? I thought the uptodate support email would just automatically resend the emails. Turns out that it is taking about 12 hours for them to be resent? What's the point of having the email in the first place?
