Folks I just threw the head up and went to buy Mountain Lion as I was giving up on the up to date program delivering before I head off on Saturday for a week. Interestingly having registered the serial of my MBR over 24 hours back I went to the App store and purchased in frustration only to find that on buying it told me that I had ALREADY purchased but I could download for free again. The purchase date is showing some two weeks back in or around the date my MBR was shipped. Hope this helps some or maybe I have just been lucky......... :)

When you originally tried to use your content code, did it say "already been used" or "invalid"?

Well if this is the logic then shouldn't I have my code by now, seeing as I signed up right at the start time and haven't re-submitted?

I should be at the front of the line
And there are really enough people who submitted hours after me (yesterday) - and received their codes before me.

I sent two forms already yesterday but still I didn't get any codes...

should I continue to wait or call Apple and see what happened!?

I think I just realised how impatient some people are. I've been waiting 23 hours now, still hoping that I might get an e-mail with the code. If I don't, it won't bother me to buy it. It's very cheap compared to other OSes out there.

Well, I don't know if this is good or bad. I was in the App Store and just to test, I decided to click on "buy app" under Mountain Lion. I figured it would ask me for my password. Nope! It "purchased" and started downloading. I even went into the settings and clicked "reset all warnings and prompts" before messing around.

I'm going to just install it this way and ask for a refund after I get my up-to-date code. It's probably going to be a hassle, so I am not looking forward to it.

The annoying part is that if I was going to accidentally do this, I wish I would have done it yesterday!

I remember up to date codes taking a few days with Lion. I didn't experience it since I had to buy Lion, but I distinctly remember some complaints. It wasn't on this level, though. If the first batch of codes hadn't been unusable, this wouldn't be such a mess.

This is a very bad joke. I just received my new uptodate content code. Figures.

Now the question… is it for Mountain Lion, or OS X Server? ;)

Going to call support first.

I've been kinda just lurking here this morning. But I figure maybe I should bitch about apple and post my scenario because other people who have been doing that seem to get their codes as they do this.

I submitted my info on monday and immediately received one of the two emails. Just not the pdf email. I contacted uptodate yesterday several times and then everything stopped coming to me. I emailed them again this morning and even called apple yesterday. About to call again. I tried to resubmit my info on uptodate but everytime I get that my serial is already submitted. So that's where I am. Technically I've been waiting for almost over 72 hours. heh.

Here's crossing my fingers hoping I get an email right now.

Also, agreeing with someone else on hera about how everytime my phone dings getting a new email, I die inside. Cinemark sent me two emails this morning. My heart stopped for a minute. I was mad at first but I get a free drink with the purchase of a popcorn. So I'm over it.

Its been 30 hours. At this point I don't mind waiting a day or two. I've been sort of busy as of late

Well, Apple phone support wasn't much help. I have to use "express lane" to email iTunes support. I am trying to do a live chat, but it's been sitting there for a long time waiting for an "advisor". I guess I will just email and hope for the best.

Macbook Pro running hot since Mountain Lion

Has anyone noticed their Macbook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011) running much hotter since upgrading to Mountain Lion, for the first time ever it;s getting quite uncomfortable in my lap.

I wonder if their is a bug in the setup that runs the fans slower and they arent kicking up when they should for you. I use SMC Fan Control. I've had mine on all the way cause I've been running handbrake all morning.

5 pages :p Like c'mon sit down and use Lion like you have been for however long it is and be patient. (not referring to you btw, just people in this thread in general) ;)

I'm with you. I've heard/read good things so I'm as antsy as anyone but at the end of the day, majority of us might really only use 2-3 of the new features consistently.

Just called support. The guy told me that codes were sent out too early and were invalid. He said if I did the process to get a code all over again it would give me a new one (which I knew was not the case), so I asked him what I should do if that doesn't work. He said to contact itunes support... Awesome...
