I applied 9AM yesterday and reapplied at 11AM today. I received my code at 4:43PM, but it referenced my 2nd application #.

Completely ridiculous. Their customer service is awful. I called them on three different occasions only to be told that I didn't wait long enough. After arguing that their site says 24 hours and I waited 3 days, they said absolutely nothing, and then just hung up. I sent in claim 3 days ago, and still NOT ONE SINGLE E-MAIL! I'm sorry, but if I was running a company I would not treat the customers who are giving me money first with this much of a lack of respect. I just recently purchased a Mac mini, but still use Windows on my other desktop. At this point, I will no longer do business with Apple.

Weird, found a bug i think.

If I try to use the update website, in the section where I put in my SN it says its already been used. If I spam click continue, it actually passed through. It then asks me for proof of purchase o_0.

Maybe it is setup that way and will cancel the previous request thinking that they previous person did not have PoP and just entered the SN

I wouldn't submit more than one until 3 days pass or Apple tells you to. For all you know, you could be contributing to the mess and be slowing things down rather than expediting them.

Called Apple. They said if doesn't come by saturday then to call back. He also said they are receiving a tool soon so they can better assist customers.

Here's the fix.

Buy it for 20$ in the appstore.
Then, contact apple support by phone, and make them give you a credit for the 20$.

Too bad they were more than willing to do this after I already returned my recent Apple purchase. I will not do business with a company who is completely unreliable to their loyal customers.

----------

Should have had a better tool to begin with.

True, but I can almost guarantee their spouting off bs, as customer service reps have no control over any of those services. They also, have no knowledge of them either.

I contacted an Apple rep by email today about this. I asked her if I could just buy it and have Apple credit it. She basically said yes, but it's a risk because when Apple credits you, they have to do a bunch of stuff to make sure you can still re-download the OS later on.

If they credit you the purchase outright, you'll no longer have access to the download.

So rather than jump through the hoops, I'll just wait patiently until I get my email, which SHOULD be coming in the next 72 hours, according to Apple. My luck, it will be Saturday, when I'm at Relay For Life for 24 hours and won't be able to download it.

Well, just saying I waited 3.5 days now. No confirmation e-mail, and no code. You probably won't get your code. I mean 24 hours is ridiculous enough, but when Apple can't even stand behind that, then don't offer it at all.

Just got those lovely 2 emails from Apple. Code works. Downloading ML as we speek.

(Just a recap; I submitted my first claim yesterday morning...second yesterday night...third one around a few hours ago...Fourth was (finally) not allowed as "the serial number already was claimed")

Good luck for the rest. Patience. Your codes are on the way ;)

By the way, donno if it helps, but apparently my first claim was the one that worked...despite the system letting me submit it 2 other times

I took screenshots of the claim reference number after submitting each claim.. Just noticed that the email Apple sends you with the code has a claim reference number... So referred back to the 3 screenshots I have... and surprisingly...the reference number in the email corresponds to the first screenshot I took of the first claim I submitted..

Weird Apple. Weird.

You guys do know that doing multiple claims will only slow down things not only for yourself but for me and the other people who are on here saying that they are not receiving their codes. I know you are anxious to get it, so am I, but doing multiple claims will only slow things down more.

Next time, just use the PDF -> receipt action that's been built in since Tiger.

Not if Apple had no record of your claim when you submitted it the first time around...or the second.. (As reported by some who called Apple, and as logic would dictate if the system let you submit more claims without telling you that your serial number has been claimed.

But then, you receive the email with the code...and the claim number is that of the first claim you submitted...all logic crumbles..
