I just called Apple...very bad representative...

he told me just wait 3 days before calling back. He didn't bother to check my reference number, so mean!

Hope

Hoping to get my code soon. Had to work yesterday morning and applied around 12:30 pm EST. The waiting game is the worst game ever invented.

Just sent an email to the above address:

Dear Apple,

I am at the point where I am absolutely FUMING that I have had to wait nearly 2 days for a redemption code to be sent to me so I can download Mountain Lion.

Is this how Apple treats its customers who bought new Retina Macbook Pros in June?

If it was going to take this long to issue redemption codes, why didn't Apple start the process a week prior to the software availability?

I was very excited and anxious to download the new operating system when it went live on Thursday at 8:30am EST. I submitted my redemption code form, and to this moment, I am still waiting for a redemption code to be sent to me.

Looking across the Internet support forums, there are dozens of angry people just like myself who can't fathom that Apple screwed this process up so badly. I think it's highly unfair that everyone else has had the opportunity to download the new operating system while the rest of us WAIT.

Take a deep breath.

See if you can beat this website (my bet is no ;)

Read the post again. ;)

No problem, TyCzuczman and undies1993! It's a whirlwind of postings on here. I'm about halfway through the download now.

Not so patient...

Like so many of you, this screwup is really taxing. Heading away on a trip and really wanted a few days to test everything out before I go. Guess I'll just have to wait another few weeks as I still have not received my code and applied minutes after ML was released to the public. You stand by the product for decades, just spent another $3900 on a new MacBook Pro and its not like you just got screwed out of 20 bucks, it's like you just got screwed by your best friend. Very disappointing. Making billions, but have forgotten the customer.

Applied for my code a good 35 hours ago, and still have received nothing from Apple.. This wait has ruined my idea of Mac > PC... I want OS X Mountain Lion, but I really do not want to pay for it..

Well, this is extremely vexing. I called Applecare again to tell them that an hour after my first call (when I had been promised that I would receive my code within minutes), I still hadn't received anything. The lady this time said the previous rep had made a mistake and then gave me the garbage 72 hours answer, even though the website had initially said 24 hours.

So after 32 hours, two Applecare phone calls (which contradicted each other), I still haven't received a single email or notification. This after buying a $2K machine...I've gotten better customer service from Best Buy before.

Close to 37 hours now still no news from the apple on the code.

Already send the email to support still staring at my inbox .... no news at all from Apple. A notification of receive email would be nice at this point from apple.

Spoke with Applecare today and noted I had not received code after more than 24 hours. Was curious to hear what they would asy after following this discussion. I gave them my redemption code number that is given to you after applying for the update online and they couldn't find any record of it. Tried finding it via the email address I had given, Nope. No luck with serial number of macbook pro either. Asked me to reapply for update. I did, it went through as if I had never apllied and showed up in his system. Told it would be up to 72 hours :( Very nice guy not his fault that the redemption program is buggy.

The last few recent pages have had many people start to finally receive codes. Let's hope the rest of us get them tonight.

If I were Apple, I'd send out those codes asap to alleviate the call center reps. I'm sure they're getting hounded right and left. Additionally, I'm sure those calls are taking away from people who need actual support with Mountain Lion.
