Anyone else notice that not a single new app or update has come out in about 2 days now? There must be some sort of block from Apple approving updates right now due to all the bs going on. Extremely disappointing as I have this nice phone and nothing to do with it unless I want ugly low res apps.

EDIT: Actually with Steve's comment that a fix is coming soon and the speculation of 4.1... I bet they are waiting to approve apps till the new update.

Great observation. I think Apple is stopping all new apps until they work these issues out.

Ugh, I wish these developers update their icon to high res. From what I hear, it doesn't take long to do that. What's the point of the retina display but the apps getting approve still have the low res icon.

Plants vs. Zombies was updated to take advantage of multi-tasking, and it does a GREAT job of it. You pop right back into the game and start playing instantly.

Unfortunately, they haven't upgraded the graphics or the icon yet. I'm really hoping they do, but not holding my breath, as PopCap has a reputation for no updates.

This is stupid. I don't care what anyone says... it's stupid. Real Racing... an intense 3D racing game which most feel is the best racing game in the app store... was immediately updated for the retina display. Eliminate is a brand new game that uses the gyroscope and retina and it was out on launch day. What the **** is going on here? Seriously! If Real Racing can update that fast, why can't Doodle Jump or Plants VS. Zombies or Zen Bound or any of the countless other great games? Don't give me some excuse that it takes time.. if Real Racing can do it, simpler casual games should have no problems at all.

The retina display has completely ruined my iPhone experience for me. I have no desire to use my phone because all the apps I use look like ****. I obsessively check the app store for updates and there are none. It has been 5 days now. My iPhone is immaculate.. no spots and no reception issues... but I'm barely using it and it makes me wish I still had my 3GS so that I could still enjoy the games.

There are a lot of games out there made by individial developers... in other words, you and me... just normal people. Maybe they just don't have time to be at everyone's beck-and-call. Maybe they have kids who need to go to soccer practice.

The bottom line is that we all want instant gratification, but are not going to get it. I for one get excited when a new update comes out. It's like a game. Can't we all just be satisfied for 5 minutes and let Apple do its thing? Or other people do their thing? Let it go. Most of you sound like babies whining for a bottle. Grow up and enjoy the experience.

r-e-l-a-x. Really? You can't play any of those games? You're barely using it? ALL of your apps look like !@#$%?

I have several games - and while they don't take advantage of the retina display/resolution (yet) - they are certainly far from "not playable" nor do they look so off base that I would say they look like crap.

Now I don't know what games you have. But your rant is a little childish considering the iPhone has been out less than a week.

So throw your phone in the garbage & quit your bitching.

Woah Woah!
I know you don't care what anybody says but, seriously? It's up to the developers to update the artwork in their apps. It's up to them to implement the new features... and they need to TEST them on the new platforms which were only really available as of Wed/Thurs - plus it takes time for them to be approved. Apple probably gave Firemint and ngmoco (makers of Real Racing and GunRange) an iPhone 4 in advance so they could create a couple flagship iPhone 4 apps just to get the ball rolling and to show developers what's now possible on the new phones (which looks incredible, I agree)

Patience... the new updates ought to really start rolling out this week.

Besides- I've been playing all my favorites - 2D, 3D, Puzzlers - all un-updated- and yeah- some aliasing can be seen around some graphics, but they still look superior to how they did on my 3G.

Does anyone know if Apple is going to update the youtube app to download in the background? That would be damn handy.

Are there any that use the gyroscope?

Does the new update to AroundMe use the Gyroscope? I've had this app for a long time and just noticed the "Realtime View". I wasn't sure if this actually uses the gyroscope? Seems like it does?

lol.

dude.

chill.

I have been playing the crap out of Real Racing, and they did a great job on the icon, but I don't think the graphics have been updated yet.

At the select car screen when the card are revolving you can see pixels around the edges.

Also while the steering wheel and dashboard look great, the track and background looks unrefined.

Still, nothing on the 3GS's screen looks better than on the 4.

Google Latitude in the Background

Hey guys, so I stumbled upon an app on Sunday that I was only wishing that someone, or Google, would make. The app is called Latitudie. It updates your google latitude in the background. It works great. I've been using it for ilke 3 days now and works awesome. Before when I was jailbroken i had Longitude, which was a timed update, but this is way better. It actually updates all the time you are moving. I'm actually kinda surprised that Google didn't update their app for this yet. Oh well, at least anyone who likes Google Latitude has an option now.

Actually this should not be surprising. Not many, if any, apps get approved on the weekends. This tied in with the fact that the iPhone was released on a Thursday should not be surprising at all. I would also assume that Apple had more people helping out with the launch and in the stores. This is not surprising at all. Things should get back to normal hhis week.

I somewhat agree. I find myself not playing some of the games I used to like because the graphics now feel subpar. But I'm sure the major titles will be updated soon enough.

Many developers were/are waiting for new phones so they can test their updates. If they got them last week, we should start seeing updates starting this week.

Pocket Tunes has just been made perfect IMHO with the just added multitasking support.
Now if Howard would stop taking so many vacations I could actually use it.
;)
