Edit: Logitech Control Center works using keystrokes and version 3.0
Are you sure about this? How did you install it? It is not made for 10.6 (see logitech error message below).

Citrix Online Plug-in for Mac - this is client software for connection to Citrix (enhanced Windows Terminal Server) systems. Browse to a Citrix Web Interface site in Safari, click on an application, and it does not start the plugin or connect to the application.

Citrix states they are aware of the problem and working on a fix - in the meantime, they offer a workaround of setting Safari to open in 32-bit mode (on the Get Info pane). This worked for me.

PGP a No Go for SL Until PGP 10.0 is Released

PGP is a no go for SL until PGP 10.0 is released and that isn't even in beta yet.

Below is direct from PGP. Their is also a blog on the PGP site at http://blog.pgp.com/index.php/2009/08/sneak-peek-pgp-whole-disk-encryption-for-snow-leopard/

FROM PGP:

Apple released its new version - Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) today, Friday, August 28.

Advisory:
PGP Corporation does not recommend using PGP® Desktop with Mac OS X 10.6 at this time, neither the 32 bit nor 64 bit versions of Snow Leopard are currently supported by PGP Corporation. This includes PGP® Whole Disk Encryption, PGP® Desktop Professional, PGP® Desktop Home and PGP® Desktop Email.

This email is to advise you that if you are running PGP® Whole Disk Encryption, PGP® Desktop Professional, PGP® Desktop Home or PGP® Desktop Email, you should NOT upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

If you intend to upgrade to Snow Leopard, you must decrypt all PGP® encrypted drives and uninstall PGP® Desktop before upgrading the system to Mac OS X 10.6.

After upgrading your system you should not attempt to re-encrypt any disks with PGP® Whole Disk Encryption as it is likely to lead to potential data loss or other system and data issues.

We expect support for Mac OS X 10.6 to be available in the next major release of PGP® Desktop (10.0). PGP Corporation recommends waiting until PGP® Desktop 10.0 is available before upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6. If you would like to be notified when the beta version becomes available, please register at http://www.pgp.com/developers/beta/request.html.

If you have questions about PGP® Desktop and Mac OS X 10.6, please visit our support site https://pgp.custhelp.com/app/

PGP Corporation announced PGP WDE for Mac OS X last year - a native Mac application that was designed from the ground up for the Mac. PGP Corporation is committed to providing Macintosh users the best possible encryption solutions and we’ve been building them since re-starting the company in 2003.

The overall experience of PGP WDE for Snow Leopard will be the same. You’ll notice PGP WDE for Mac OS X is controlled using PGP Desktop, which can be expanded to secure email and files as well.

Users of PGP WDE for Mac OS X will have a new pre-boot authentication screen that protects access to the machine before the operating system loads. To see some of the work so far we have posted screen shots to the PGP Perspectives blog.

Sincerely,
PGP® Worldwide Support Team

1. Cisco VPN client does not work until you reinstall it. Then it works great.

2. Endnote X2 appears to work but with issues with inserting citations into Word 08. I am getting duplicate numbering. :(

Insomnia X

worked fine on 10.5.8, won't start in SL.

Quicksilver is supposed to work in SL, but I can't start the latest version, and the one that wokred fine in 10.5.8 is unreliable in SL.

No 64 bit kernel

MBP 3.1 2.4GHz 4GB RAM

Won't Work:

3DConnexion Mouse - Driver will not install either

ON DSLR software - Driver won't install

XTorrent - Opens and closes. Any downloads in progress will be LOST!

Buggy

Maya 2008 and 2009 tested - One shader at a time displayed

10.6 will allow you to create a Cisco IPSec VPN connection directly from Network under System Preferences. I tried this with my work VPN tonight and it works just fine, no VPN client needed.

Gotta love this:

Incompatible ...
Aperture

2.1.1 and earlier

Keynote

2.0.2 and earlier

These are Apple products!!! Apple sucks ass.

InsomniaX is broken. If you're lucky enough to get it to load, getting it to unload (and being able to shutdown or sleep your Mac) is nearly impossible without doing a hard shutdown.

The dotwiki compatibility list incorrectly lists it as OK.

cs2 works, i tried it earlier today, but it just takes forever to load, waited about five minutes for it to load but once it did, it ran fine

But those are both old releases, especially Keynote. The current versions do work with SL and were prepped before SL came out as it should be.

The current Keynote is version 5.0.4, a three full releases away from 2.02.

The current Aperture is 2.1.4 and does work with SL reportedly.

Of course I can't test any of that because SL won't install on the last five MacPros and 2 17" MBPs I tried because it won't recognize the boot drive as bootable but that's a different story,.

What about Maya 2010?

vuze has been upgraded to version 4.2.0.8 with a workaround, 4.2.0.10 should be a proper solution with full cocoa swt support and 64-bit java.

aperture works, but there are interface bugs for me...

Perfect, I was REALLY hoping not to have to even think about upgrading. I've got my CS2 set up exactly how I want it, all my actions and scripts etc where I want them. If it is a little slow, I couldn't care less. I usually only edit a few photos at a time anyway.

I do feel sorry for the people who's livelyhood depends on their computer and are finding some of their needed apps aren't gonna go:(

no need to feel sorry for them. they just won't upgrade until the third parties they rely on have caught up. it'll be a while before anyone is taking advantage of snow leopard in a meaningful way, anyway.

I am really surprised the number of apps that have incompatibilities. Snow Leopard has been in developers hands for a long time. I wonder if this is just because of laziness of developers?

Snow Leopard wasn't in developers hands any earlier than its public release unless they signed up for a relatively expensive early access program.
There are a surprising number of incompatibilities and bugs in Snow Leopard that do not seem related to new features/functions. Many developers had no reason to believe existing stable APIs would stop working or change behavior.
